Structure in the universe forms hierarchically with the small scales forming first and merging into larger scales. Galaxy clusters are at the pinnacle of the formation process. Peering far into the universe, we can observe galaxy clusters early in their evolution. SpARCSJ1049+56 is a galaxy cluster located at a redshift of 1.71. It has been shown to be rich in cluster galaxies, to have intense star formation, and to have a significant amount of molecular gas. Through careful control of systematics, we detected the weak-lensing signal from this distant galaxy cluster. I will present our HST infrared weak-lensing detection of the cluster with a focus on the method. Our lensing analysis found that the cluster is massive and is rare in a LambdaCDM universe. I will also present the Chandra X-ray discovery of cold gas coincident with the intense star formation and discuss the implications of the detection.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between knowledge sharing and academic performance in the context of quality-assurance related work. It furthermore aims to explore the role of information technology in mediating this relationship. Quantitative method was applied to collect data from the participants using an online-based questionnaire. Convenience sampling technique was used. The responses were collected from 140 participants in a university from Saudi Arabia. The study found a strong positive relationship between knowledge sharing and individual performance. It was also found out that information technology partially mediates the relationship between knowledge sharing and individual performance. The research unearths the significant contribution made by information technology in mediating the relationship between individual-level knowledge sharing and the individual performance. This helps to understand the positive impacts on individual work performance in institutions of higher education that would be derived if individuals use various forms of IT to share knowledge. The focus of the research is the individual performance as the pertinent contribution towards positive outcomes in institutional performance.

본 연구에서는 먼저 수학과 과학의 연결성을 고려한 수학학습에 관한 선행연구를 고찰한 후에, 중 고등학교 수학과 과학의 통합교육의 필요성을 제 7차 수학과 교육과정 개정의 배경과 수학과의 목표 측면에서 논의하였다. 또한 외국의 통합교육 사례를 살펴보고 이에 근간하여 수학과 과학의 통합교육 유형, 수학과 과학의 간교과형 통합교육 방법을 논의하였다. 문헌연구에 기반을 두고 수학과 과학에서 공통이 되는 개념, 원리, 기능을 중심으로 한 간교과형 통합교육 방법을 위한 교수-학습 자료를 개발하여 이를 수학 시간에 활용할 것을 권하였다. 그 후에 수학과 과학의 간교과형 통합교육을 위한 교수-학습 자료를 개발하고 이를 연구도구로 활용하여 사례연구를 하였다. 사례연구 결과, 학생들은 등속운동을 탐구하면서 일차함수가 발생되는 과정을 이해하고, 시간과 속도_. 시간과 이동거리의 관계식과 그래프를 개발하고, 이 식과 그래프를 연결하여 기울기의 실제적인 의미를 해석할 수 있었다.

Considering the established research about the characteristics of traditional expression in a contemporary korean architecture, there are two critical problems. the one is that the extent of a case is limited to a public building and a large exhibition building. the other is that the angle of research focus on the viewpoint of specific a level. To settle these problems and supplement a established research, this study is to investigate and analyze the characteristics of popular traditional expression in small commercial buildings. In A viewpoint on the expansion of a case and a various angle, A small commercial buildings is selected as a case. because it is felt that the populace's taste vis-a-vis traditional expression. To investigate and analyze, A main analytic criterion is follows. 1) A expressional method on traditional architectural form 2) A expressional aspect by architectural element 3) A expressional aspect in architectural material 4) A expressional aspect in architectural structure. In consequence we can find out the following results in the process of analysis. 1) In expressional method on traditional architectural form, the traditional expression is represented as the imitation and transformation of a traditional folk house forms, and the embodiment of traditional image 2) In expressional aspect by architectural element, the traditional expression elements is mainly represented at a straw roof and a mud-plastered wall 3) the traditional expression material is mainly straw, timber, small wood boards and mud 4) In expressional aspect in architectural structure, the traditional expression is represented from the viewpoint of decorative expression.

Cultural commodity is a tourism souvenir for tourists with a high added value in terms of economy. When it excellently represents the region and is based upon its tradition, the positive images of the place can be originated. In this way, the formation of benevolent images has economically considerable effects that can promote the competitive power of the area. The purpose of this study is to develop the pattern design of cultural commodity related to Hampyeong Butterfly Festival. The software to be used is Adobe illustrator CS2, which is a Vector Graphic software, and by utilizing the program, the pattern for the cultural goods will be produced. The forms of the pattern are All over Pattern, which is one of the arrangement methods used the most in a necktie field, and Stripe Pattern. After designing with those two patterns, the design is applied on neckties. Like this, by designing through the Vector Graphic software which we can easily get an access to, the concept of design is visualized; therefore, we can prevent the commodity development that can be conducted out of the concept. By making it possible to visualize the examination by various forms or color mixture, the time is shortened, and throughout reproduction of the object, adjustment of the size, colorway, and reusing or remanufacturing the image, we can check the result of design before hand to reduce the time and expenses required.

This article explores how non-dominant medical practitioners shape their own self-images and the identity of relevant medicine and in what ways fashioning of self-images and accompanying modalities of medical practice informs the social evolution of the medicines at specific times and over specific places, by means of the historical configuration of osteopathy and chiropractic in the UK and the US. Attention is directed onto motivations and pursuits for professional recognition and actual strategies and activities of non-dominant medicines and its practitioners by turning to historical instances such as osteopathy and chiropractic in the UK and the US, not least drawing focus on professional desires with regard to circumstances it faces within and without. Some non-dominant medicines as a way with which to acquire and protect the exclusive monopoly of its knowledge and practical skills, adopted various forms of professionalism project, as dominant biomedical groups pressed up non-dominant medicines by virtue of marginalizing tactics. Meanwhile, non-dominant medicines took somewhat distinctive professionalisation strategies from each other. Strategies they took were diversified depending on medical philosophy, healing modality, the degree of occupational solidarity embodied as forms of medical organisation, and especially vocational aspiration and prospect. Change of socio-medical culture and the state's policy seems to have wielded critical influenceon the determination of the ups and downs of non-dominant medicines. From the perspective of long-term time span, dominant biomedicine eventually did not have much influence on the ups and downs of marginalized medicines in so far as in the case of osteopathy and chiropractic in Englandand the U. S.

사회의 다양한 모습을 기록으로 남기려는 민간 공동체 아카이브 구축이 증가함에 따라 사회적 소수자들에 대한 아카이브 구축에 대한 관심도 증가하였다. 이에 성적 소수자들의 기록에 초점을 맞추어 국내 퀴어 아카이브인 '퀴어락(Queerarch)'을 중심으로 기록물 구축현황을 알아보고 퀴어기록의 특성과 퀴어락 기술요소의 문제점을 파악하였다. 퀴어락 기술요소의 문제점으로 제시된 집합적 기술과 다계층 기술의 부재, 퀴어 기록의 특성을 충분히 반영하지 못했다는 점을 보완할 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 ISAD(G), MAD, RAD 등의 기술규칙을 참고하여 새로운 기술요소를 제안하였다.

Purpose - This research uses ocean marine insurance (OMI) statistics, international emails, focus-group interviews, and surveys to fill the gap between the theory of behavioral insurance, particularly status quo bias (SQB), and the practice of OMI in Korea. The contractual forms of OMI, the oldest and most globalized form of commercial insurance, were developed in the UK as the Institute Cargo Clauses in 1906 and revised in 1963, 1982, and 2009. SQB has been academically explored, mostly in health insurance and the financial services sector, but never in OMI. Thanks to the availability of OMI statistics in Korea, we can conduct SQB research here for the first time in this field. Design/methodology - We show the existence of SQB in the OMI of Korea through Korean statistics between 2009 and 2018, email correspondence with experts in the UK, Germany, and Japan, focus-group interviews with Korean OMI underwriters, an in-depth interview with one underwriter, and a survey of 15 OMI insureds (company representatives). Findings - We find that Korean foreign traders rely on the old-type OMI contracts developed in 1963, whereas other industrialized countries use the newest type of OMI contract developed in 2009. With a simple loss ratio analysis during 2009-2018, we show that the behavior of insurers has little to do with rational profit maximization and is instead driven by irrational bias, as they forgo the more profitable contracts provided by the new clauses by keeping the old clauses. The consistent addiction to old types of contracts in the OMI market suggests strong SQB among Korean exporters, importers, bankers, or insurers, which we confirmed in our interviews and survey. Originality/value - This research has significant originality and academic value because it reports new findings with crucial implications for the development of efficient trade practices and policy. First, this research is based on actual statistics that have not been used in previous Korean research on OMI. Second, this research shows that all-risk OMI policies provide more value to insureds, in terms of coverage given premium, than partial coverage policies, which differs from arguments previously made in Korea. Third, this research reveals strong SQB in Korea, where foreign trade plays a pivotal role in economic growth. That bias could be attributable to uninformed traders, informed but idle insurers, or conservative bankers. Fourth, to further develop foreign trade, policy initiatives are needed to review the current practices of OMI contracts and move forward with the new contract forms. All of these findings and arguments are both new and important.

이 연구는 재난의 미디어 매개와 공감의 정치를 이론적으로 고찰하고, 이를 문화정치적 이슈로 새롭게 재구성할 수 있는 가능성을 모색한다. 인류의 삶과 뗄 수 없는 재난의 경험은 오랫동안 사람들이 주목하고 감정적 반응을 야기하였던 중요한 대상이었다. 하지만 현대사회는 재난의 의미를 한층 정치적인 것으로 변화시키고, 이에 대한 감정적 반응을 새롭게 재구성한다. 이 연구는 재난과 고통의 소재들이 미디어 매개 과정을 거쳐 새로운 사회적 의미를 구성해 나가는 과정에 주목한다. 그리고 미디어를 통해 매개된 공감의 경험이 바로 21세기의 미디어 환경에서 새롭게 정초해야 할 미디어 연구의 도덕적 윤리적 전환, 그리고 글로벌 시민사회의 감수성 형성이라는 문화정치적 잠재력의 원천임을 주장한다. 동시에 이 연구는 타인들이 겪는 고통의 매개 과정이 수용자들의 새로운 공적 행위를 유발시키는 중요한 계기로 기능한다는 점에 주목하고, 그것의 함의를 포착하고자 시도한다.

Because students majoring in construction-related fields must develop a broad repository of knowledge and skills, effective transferal of these is the primary focus of most academic programs. While inculcation of this body of knowledge is certainly critical, actual construction projects are complicated ventures that involve levels of risk and uncertainty, such as resistant neighboring communities, unforeseen weather conditions, escalating material costs, labor shortages and strikes, accidents on jobsites, challenges with emerging forms of technology, etc. Learning how to develop a level of discernment about potential ways to handle such uncertainty often takes years of costly trial-and-error in the proverbial "school of hard knocks." There is therefore a need to proactively expedite the development of a sharpened intuition when making decisions. The AGC Education and Research Foundation case study committee was formed to address this need. Since its inception in 2011, 14 freely downloadable case studies have thus far been jointly developed by an academics and industry practitioners to help educators elicit varied responses from students about potential ways to respond when facing an actual project dilemma. AGC case studies are typically designed to focus on a particular concern and topics have thus far included: ethics, site logistics planning, financial management, prefabrication and modularization, safety, lean practices, preconstruction planning, subcontractor management, collaborative teamwork, sustainable construction, mobile technology, and building information modeling (BIM). This session will include an overview of the history and intent of the AGC case study program, as well as lively interactive demonstrations and discussions on how case studies can be used both by educators within a typical academic setting, as well as by industry practitioners seeking a novel tool for their in-house training programs.
