Proxy MIPv6 (PMIPv6) is that network-based mobility management protocol that network supports mobile node's mobility on behalf of the MN. In PMIPv6, when two MNs located within the same PMIPv6 domain want to communicate each other, sub-optimal path is established between the two MN. Route optimization method for PMIPv6 is proposed to resolve the problem. However, the method still suffer from the performance degradation due to out-of-sequence packet problem. In this paper, we propose the route optimization mechanism in PMIPv6 based on Flush message to resolve the out-of-sequence packet problem. The proposed mechanism is evaluated by performing simulations, and the simulation results show that the proposed one gives better performance.
Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) enables a mobile node (MN) to maintain its connectivity with a correspondent node (CN) while changing its point of attachment. In MIPv6, packets sent from a CN to a MN during handover are lost. Several mechanisms including FMIPv6 and HMIPv6 have been proposed in order to minimize packet loss. However, such mechanisms still suffer from performance degradation due to not only packet loss but also out-of-sequence packets. In this paper, we propose I-FHMIPv6 to resolve packet loss as well as the out-of-sequence packet problem. In I-FHMIPv6, the flush message is newly defined in order to notify a home agent (HA) or CN of the fact that the binding cache entry of a MN is about to be updated. A MN receiving the flush message can know that there is no more packets transmitted via the previous route, which resolve the out-of-sequence packet problem. Moreover, with the proposed mechanism, we can minimize packet loss by integrating FMIPv6 and HMIPv6 efficiently. I-FHMIPv6 is evaluated by performing simulations, and the simulation results show that I-FHMIPv6 outperforms FMIPv6 and HMIPv6.
This study investigated the effects of temperature on the shoot growth and flowering of potted kumquat [Fortunella margarita ( Lour.) Swingle] trees grown in subtropical conditions of I-Lan County in Taiwan. Temperature treatments included T 25-32, T 17-25, T 22, and T 18. The T 25-32 treatment trees were to the day/night temperatures of $25/18^{\circ}C$ for 2 weeks, followed by 28 weeks at $32/25^{\circ}C$. T 17-25 was exposed for 4 weeks to $17/10^{\circ}C$ followed by 26 weeks at $25/18^{\circ}C$. T 22 and T 18 were exposed at $22/18^{\circ}C$ and $18/13^{\circ}C$, respectively, for the entire duration of the experiment. Control trees were placed in a plastic greenhouse under conditions similar to the natural environment. The kumquat trees exposed to high-temperature environment of $32/25^{\circ}C$ showed more frequent and speedy sprouting of new buds, but induced the earlier termination of shoot elongation growth, resulting in decreased vegetative growth. The temperature treatments lower than $22^{\circ}C$ suppressed the new shoot production but increased the shoot growth period, resulting in increased shoot length and diameter. Temperatures higher than $25/18^{\circ}C$ readily induced flowering, with flowering being advanced under the higher temperature conditions such as $32/25^{\circ}C$. However, flowering was substantially inhibited under temperature conditions lower than $22/18^{\circ}C$, indicating the negative role of relatively lower temperatures on flowering of kumquat trees.

The distribution of heavy metals in the stormwater runoffs from industrial sites around Shihwa Lake that implements the total pollutant load management system (TPLMS) was studied to characterize the temporal changes of metal concentrations and to assess the ecological risk in dissolved and particulate phases of the selected metals. The dissolved Co and Ni concentration demonstrated first flush and tended to decrease with increasing of the duration of rainfall. The intensity of precipitation was found to be the main controlling factor of particulate metals in the stromwater runoffs. The particulate concentration of Pb accounted for 97.2% so the particulate phase was its main form. Other metals followed the sequence: Pb>Cu>Cd>Co>Zn>Ni. The particulate-dissolved partitioning coefficient ($K_d$) indicated that the $K_d$ of Pb were bigger than that of other metals because the metal Pb in the stormwater runoffs is quickly removed into the particulate phase. In a single day rainfall event, total runoff fluxes for total metals as the sum of dissolved and particulate forms through only two sewer outlets were 2.21 kg for Co, 30.5 kg for Ni, 278.3 kg for Cu, 398.3 kg for Zn, 0.39 kg for Cd and 40.0 kg for Pb, respectively. Given the annual rainfall, the number of rain days and the basin area for total pollutant load management system (TPLMS) of Shihwa area, enormous amount of non-point metal pollutants were entered into Lake with any treatment. The dissolved metals (e.g., Ni, Cu and Zn) in the stormwater runoffs exceeded the acute water quality criteria. Additionally, all metals were significantly enriched in the particulate phase and exceeded the PEL criteria of sediment quality guidelines (SQGs). These results indicated that the heavy metals in the stormwater runoffs may pose a very high ecological risk to the coastal environments and ecosystem.
