Injection molded plastic parts have many surface detects: weld line, sink mark, flow mark, gloss, shading, scratching, and so on. Because these surface faults have not been accepted esthetically, plastic parts are Produced through painting or texturing. The purpose of this paper is to develop a paintless molded part of TV Mask Front by flow control method and gas-assisted injection molding. In order to minimize defects from injection molding, this study was carried out using computer aided injection mold filling simulations using MF/FLOW and MF/GAS. Based on these numerical results, we developed FR(Flame Retardant) HIPS and established guidelines of part design, mold design, and Processing conditions. We have achieved of cost sayings, improvement of productivity, and utilization of recycling by eliminating surface defects and painting process.

Injection molding process factors such as molding temperature, injection pressure, flow rate and flow velocity, must be controlled properly in filling and packing phases in the injection molding process. In this study, effects of these factors on the injection molding were investigated through the flow analysis fur the filling and packing phases. Molding troubles like flow mark, weld line, sink mark, short shot and warpage can be caused by these injection molding process factors. Among them, the short shot was caused by that the packing pressure could not reach properly to the filling end part in the packing phase and hence the flow rate could not be supplied to the full. In addition, as the flow rate for the volumetric shrinkage during the frozen phase could not be supplied properly by the packing pressure, the short shot appeared. Here, the volumetric shrinkage reduced with increasing the packing pressure and also the warpage of molded part increased with increasing the packing pressure.

Injection molded plastic parts have many appearance imperfections: weld line sink mark flow mark, gloss, shading, scratching, etc. Because these appearance faults have not accepted esthetically, so pastic parts are produced through painting or texturing. The purpose of this paper is to develop a paintless molded part of TV Mask Front, using numerical simulations and experiments. In order to minimize problems of injection, this study carried out computer aided injection mold filling simulations using MF/FLOW. Based on these numerical results we developed FR(Flame Retardant) HIPS and estabilished guidelines of part design, mold design, and processing conditions. We took effects of cost savings, inprovement of productivity, and utilization of recycling by eliminated painting process.
The EMFG (Extended Mark Flow Graph) is not only a powerful tool for designing the discrete-event system conceptually or specifically but also a good representation tool for implementing the system directly. But it is difficult to design or analyze the system because the impossibility of mathematical analysis results from some complicated representation of the EMFG. In this paper, therefore we redefined EMFG representations to provide the possibility of mathematical analysis, and employed an output inhibit are of a transition, which makes possible the adequate representations for the indescribable parts. We also solved trouble parts in the circuit translations of the EMFG and proposed the circuit translation method by using the mathematical formula. Finally, we compared the conventional EMFG with the redefined EMFG, and we designed a 0101 detecter with the redefined EMFG and translated it to the corresponding circuit.
Supplementary features in injection molded products, which are boss, rib and snap fit, are mainly located in the products. These features might make molding flow improper in injection processing and consequently give rise to some of molding troubles such as short shot and hesitation. The sink mark on boss parts is generated by the volumetric shrinkage that is caused by both the molding thickness and the closed boss height. The volumetric shrinkage is affected by packing pressure and its amount tends to decrease by increasing the packing pressure. The packing pressure can therefore increase flow rate to a boss part and causes the sink mark depth to increase. As the molding thickness and the closed boss height in the boss part can increase the part volume, these may yield bad solidifying and also extend the molding cycle. In this paper, both the injection molding test and the flow analysis were carried out to investigate the effect of sink marks generated in the boss part of injection molded products.
Web designers generally use a story board, a site map, a flow chart or the combination of these for representing web sites. But these methods are difficult to represent the entire architecture of a web site, and may be not adaptive for describing the detail flow of web pages. To solve these problems to some degree, there were works using EMFG(Extended Mark Flow Graph) recently. However the conventional EMFG representation method is not adaptive to represent the dynamic interface of web sites because that cover only the static parts of a web site. Internet utilization is rapidly growing in our life and we cannot imagine the worlds of work, study and business without internet. And web sites recently have not only more complex and various architecture but also web pages containing the dynamic interface. Therefore we propose the representation method of these web sites - for example, a web site containing varying pages with time and varying page status or contents with mouse operations - using EMFG. We expect our work to be help the design and maintenance of web sites.
Hardware and software codesign framework called PeaCE(Ptolemy extension as a Codesign Environment) was developed. It allows to express both data flow and control flow which is described as fFSM which extends traditional finite state machine. While the fFSM model provides lots of syntactic constructs for describing control flow, it has a lack of their formality and then difficulties in verifying the specification. In order to define the formal semantics of the fFSM, in this paper, firstly the hierarchical structure in the model is flattened and then the step semantics is defined. As a result, some important bugs such as race condition, ambiguous transition, and circulartransition can be formally detected in the model.
Owing to the developed If industry, many people are more and more interested in Workflow which is an automated business processing system. In this paper, we present basic structures and various parallel processing structures of a workflow using EMFG (Extended Mark Flow Graph) that makes conceptional design available. And then, We design a workflow with EMFG. We propose the commitability verification method to check whether a workflow can complete or not and the logical bug verification method to find whether invalid components exist or not by using simulation result of it. The proposed EMFG modeling and analysis method for a workflow make it possible to become a visual and formal design. Also, it makes intuitional and mathematical analysis possible.
