The marble powder is a by-product that can be freely collected during the manufacturing process of marble, such as sawing, shaping, and polishing. Disposal of this waste powder is one of the environmental problems worldwide today. Therefore, this study investigated to solve this problem by consuming the waste marble powder in high fluidity concrete, as a pore filler. For this purpose, the waste marble powder was used as a binder replacing 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of cement in high fluidity concrete. After mixing, slump flow test, time-to-reach the slump flow of 500mm test, O-lot test and U-box test were conducted with fresh concrete. For the hardened concrete, compressive strength was determined at the age of 28 days. According to the test results, the workability of high fluidity concrete increased with the powder of 15% replacement, and the compressive strength of high fluidity concrete also increased with the same amount of powder.

The fluctuation of inlet flow to a water treatment plant makes a serious problem that it can change the filtration rate abruptly, and ultimately occur the breakthrough of the detained particles inside filter media. Also, since it takes very short time (about 10 minutes) for the surface wave occurred from the fluctuation of inlet flow to reach the filtration process, it is impossible to control the filtration rate stably. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the effect of daily flow-rate fluctuation on the performance of sand filtration process, and to suggest the dual media composition for coping with that effect. Comparative column tests have been carried out for various dual media (sand and anthracite) compositions. From the results of column tests, dual media, especially in the case of sand 45cm/anthracite 30cm, is more effective to cope with the effect of flow-rate fluctuation on the performance of filtration than single media (only sand). In addition, irrespective of dual media composition, managing ability to cope with that fluctuation tends to be weak at the end of allowable filtration duration time,

This study identified the characteristic and meaning of flow experience through the experiences related to fashion models' role performance; subsequently, the following findings were obtained. First, fashion models' flow experience could be divided into characteristics such as temporality, spatiality, relationality, physicalness and pleasure. Second, the process of this flow experience ultimately led to the complete moment. The complete moment can be said to be the aesthetic experience that provides both the meaningful experience and the aesthetic pleasure; it is the experiential knowledge at the dimension of mysterious integration that their body and mind are integrated into one. The beauty that fashion models exercise at the aspect of this aesthetic experience is that of performance and is an individual physical movement where they perceive their role and exercise their inner ability to express their costume most beautifully. Accordingly, the beauty of performance can be said to mean that the fashion show was successfully held by inducing both the performer and the audience into an aesthetic response. The process of specialized planning and preparation is required for fashion models to exercise the beauty of performance at the complete movement reached through flow experience and a successful fashion show. Diverse elements of the fashion show should be more organically constituted through such a process. Fashion models should exert efforts to embody acts such as walking, posing and turning through the performance of their excellent role as well as develop a training program to complete it.

The geometry of headboxes is of great importance in obtaining good formation, even basis weight profile and fiber orientation. Therefore, many attentions have been made to examine the influence of the geometry of headboxes on the flow behavior. In this study, to evaluate flow behavior in headboxes, three types of turbulence generators were examined using pilot headbox. Velocity profiles in MD and CD were measured using a pressure monitoring system and flow in headboxes was visualized by dye injection method. CD velocity profiles at three different locations inside the slice of Type A headbox showed that the velocity increased downstream to slice exit and had a pattern with four humps due to the persisting wall effect of step diffusors. Results from the evaluation of normalized velocity profile and flow visualization showed that L-shaped Type C headbox caused a large pressure drop but it lacked in flow stabilizing ability.

In this study, three dimensional flow analysis in a HVAC duct was performed computationally using various turbulence models and compared numerical predictions such as outlet flow split, surface pressure distribution along the duct to experimental data. It's well known that accuracy of computational predictions of flow heavily dependent on turbulent models and discritization method. Therefore, in this work, to assess the ability of turbulent models to predict characteristics of duct flow, three kinds of models, namely standard $k-\varepsilon$, RNG $k-\varepsilon$ and modified $k-\varepsilon$, containing parameter for the effect of streamline curvature were employed and validated one another by comparing with experimental data. In results, modified $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model allows a successful prediction of static pressure distribution particulary at around strong curvature but little improvement flow split. In the futrue, adoption of CFD to design HVAC duct with modified $k-\varepsilon$ model will bring benefits of producing more accurate prediction, and also give designers more detail information much more than now.

In the competitive electricity market, various pricing methods are developed and practiced in many countries. Among these pricing methods, marginal loss factor(MLF) can be applied to reflect the marginal cost of network losses. For the calculation of MLF, power flow method has been used to calculate system loss deviation. However, this power flow method shows some shortcomings such as necessity of regional reference node, and absence of an ability to consider network constraints like line congestion, voltage limit, and generation output limit. The former defect might affects adversely to the equity of market participants and the latter might generate an inappropriate price signals to customers and generators. To overcome these defects, the utilization of optimal power flow(OPF) is suggested to get the system loss deviation in this paper. 30-bus system is used for the case study to compare the MLF results by the power flow and the OPF method for 24-hour dispatching and pricing, Generator payment and customer charge are compared with these two methods also. The results show that MLF by OPF reflects the power system condition more faithfully than that of by the conventional power flow method
A detailed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation analysis model was developed using ANSYS CFX 16.1 and analyzed to simulate the basic design and internal flow characteristics of a 180 MW small modular reactor (SMR) with a natural circulation flow system. To analyze the natural circulation phenomena without a pump for the initial flow generation inside the reactor, the flow characteristics were evaluated for each output assuming various initial powers relative to the critical condition. The eddy phenomenon and the flow imbalance phenomenon at each output were confirmed, and a flow leveling structure under the core was proposed for an optimization of the internal natural circulation flow. In the steady-state analysis, the temperature distribution and heat transfer speed at each position considering an increase in the output power of the core were calculated, and the conceptual design of the SMR had a sufficient thermal margin (31.4 K). A transient model with the output ranging from 0% to 100% was analyzed, and the obtained values were close to the Thot and Tcold temperature difference value estimated in the conceptual design of the SMR. The K-factor was calculated from the flow analysis data of the CFX model and applied to an analysis model in RELAP5/MOD3.3, the optimal analysis system code for nuclear power plants. The CFX analysis results and RELAP analysis results were evaluated in terms of the internal flow characteristics per core output. The two codes, which model the same nuclear power plant, have different flow analysis schemes but can be used complementarily. In particular, it will be useful to carry out detailed studies of the timing of the steam generator intervention when an SMR is activated. The thermal and hydraulic characteristics of the models that applied porous media to the core & steam generators and the models that embodied the entire detail shape were compared and analyzed. Although there were differences in the ability to analyze detailed flow characteristics at some low powers, it was confirmed that there was no significant difference in the thermal hydraulic characteristics' analysis of the SMR system's conceptual design.
Aerodynamic measures have been widely used for improving the flutter stability of long-span bridges, and this paper focuses their windproof ability to improve the wind environment for vehicles. The whole wind environment around a long-span bridge located in high altitude mountainous areas is first studied. The local wind environment above the deck is then focused by two perspectives. One is the windproof effects of aerodynamic measures, and the other is whether the bridge with aerodynamic measures meets the requirement of flutter stability after installing extra wind barriers in the future. Furthermore, the effects of different wind barriers are analyzed. Results show that aerodynamic measures exert potential effects on the local wind environment, as the vertical stabilizer obviously reduces wind velocities behind it while the closed central slot has limited effects. The suggested aerodynamic measures have the ability to offset the adverse effect of the wind barrier on the flutter stability of the bridge. Behind the wind barrier, wind velocities decrease in general, but in some places incoming flow has to pass through the deck with higher velocities due to the increase in blockage ratio. Further comparison shows that the wind barrier with four bars is optimal.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between trunk control and pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength in stroke patients. Methods: This study included 30 patients who had been clinically diagnosed with strokes, and trunk control abilities were measured using the trunk impairment scale (TIS). The subjects were classified into a group with high trunk control ability (TIS score ${\geq}20$) and a group with low trunk control ability (TIS score < 20). The patients' forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), peak expiratory flow (PEF), maximal inspiratory pressure (MIP), and maximal expiratory pressure (MEP) were measured. To compare the pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength between the two groups, the measurement data were analyzed using an independent T-test, and the relationship between TIS and respiratory function was analyzed using a Pearson correlation. Results: The high trunk control ability group had significantly higher pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength than the low trunk control ability group. Significant positive correlations were found between trunk control and FVC, FEV1, PEF, MIP, and MEP. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that trunk control affects pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength in stroke patients.
