From 20nm technology node, the finFET has become standard device for ULSI's. However, the finFET process made stacking gate non-volatile memory obsolete. Some reported capacitor-less DRAM structure by utilizing the FBE. We present possible non-volatile memory device structure similar to the dual gate MOSFET. One of the gates is left floating. Since body of the finFET is only 40nm thick, control gate bias can make electron tunneling through the floating gate oxide which sits across the body. For programming, gate is biased to accumulation mode with few volts. Simulation results show that the programming electron current flows at the interface between floating gate oxide and the body. It also shows that the magnitude of the programming current can be easily controlled by the drain voltage. Injected electrons at the floating gate act similar to the body bias which changes the threshold voltage of the device.
A particle method has been developed for analyzing the motion of 2-D floating body in waves. The particle method is based on the MPS(Moving Particle Semi-implicit) method suggested by Koshizuka et al. (1996), and the flow motion coupled with the motion of floating body can be simulated. The wavemaker and wave absorber are installed at the inflow and outflow boundaries in a computational domain, respectively. The motion characteristics of a floating body is investigated numerically under the various computational conditions.

We propose an integrate-and-fire neuron circuit and synaptic devices with the floating body MOSFETs. The synaptic devices consist of a floating body MOSFET to imitate biological synaptic characteristics. The synaptic learning is performed by hole accumulation. The synaptic device has short-term and long-term memory in a single silicon device. I&F neuron circuit emulate the biological neuron characteristics such as integration, threshold triggering, output generation, and refractory period, using floating body MOSFET. The neuron circuit sends feedback signal to the synaptic transistor for long-term memory.

The motion of a floating body and the free surface flow are the most important design considerations for ships and offshore platforms. In the present research, a numerical method is developed to simulate the motion of a floating body and the free surface using a fixed rectilinear grid system. The governing equations are the continuity equation and Naviere-Stokes equations. The boundary of a moving body is defined by the interaction points of the body surface and the centerline of a grid. To simulate the free surface the Modified Marker-Density method is implemented. Ships advancing in regular waves, the interaction of waves by a fixed circular cylinder array and the response amplitude operators of an offshore platform are simulated and the results are compared with published research data to check the applicability. The numerical method developed in this research gives results good enough for application to the initial design stage.

The aim of this study is to develop a simplified formula for added mass coefficients of a two-dimensional floating body moving vertically in a finite water depth. Floating bodies with various sectional areas may represent simplified structure sections transformed by Lewis form, and can be used for floating body motion analysis using strip theory or another relevant method. Since the added mass of a floating body varies with wave frequency and water depth, a correction factor is developed to take these effects into account. Using a developed two-dimensional numerical wave tank technique, the reference added masses are calculated for various water depths at high frequency, and used them as basis values to formulate the correction factors. To verify the effectiveness of the developed formulas, the predicted heave added mass coefficients for various wetted body sections and wave frequencies are compared with numerical results from the Numerical Wave Tank (NWT) technique.
This paper is concerned with the application of perturbation method to the dynamic analysis of floating flexible body. In dealing with the dynamics of free-floating body, the rigid-body motions and elastic vibrations are analyzed separately. However, the rigid-body motions cause vibrations and elastic vibrations also affect rigid-body motions in turn, which indicates that the rigid-body motions and elastic vibrations are coupled in nature. The resulting equations of motion are hybrid and nonlinear. We can discretize the equations of motion by means of admissible functions but still we have to cope with nonlinear equations. In the previous paper, we proposed the use of perturbation method to the coupled equations of motion and derived zero-order and first-order equations of motion. The derivation process was lengthy and tedious. Hence, in this paper, we propose a new approach to the same problem by applying the perturbation method to the Lagrange's equations, thus providing a systematic approach to the addressed problem. Theoretical derivations show the efficacy of the proposed method.
The dynamic response characteristics of a floating ocean city are examined for presenting the basic data for the design of huge offshore structures supported by a large number of floating bodies in waves. The numerical approach which is accurate in linear system is based on combination of a three dimensional source distribution method, wave interaction theory and the finite element method of using the space frame element. The hydrodynamic interactions among the floating bodies are taken into account in their exact form within the context of linear potential theory in the motion and structural analysis. The method is applicable to an arbitrary number of three dimensional bodies having any individual body geometries and geometrical arrangement with the restriction that the circumscribed, bottom-mounted. Imaginary vertical cylinder for each body does not contain any part of the other body. The validity of this procedure was verified by comparing with experimental results obtained in the literature.

This paper compares simplified and finite element method (FEM) models for tower and blade in dynamic coupled analysis of floating wind turbine. A SPAR type wind turbine with catenary mooring lines is considered in numerical analysis. Floating body equation is derived using boundary element method (BEM) and convolution. Equations for mooring line, tower and blade are formulated with theories of catenary, elastic beam and aerodynamic rotating beam, respectively and FEM is applied in the formulation. By combining the equations, coupled solutions are calculated. Tower or blade may be assumed rigid or lumped body for simplicity in modeling. By comparing floating body motions, mooring line tensions and tower stresses with the simple model and original FEM model, the effect of including or neglecting elastic, rotating and aerodynamic behavior of tower and blade is discussed.
