A Novel on a Crops Management Growth System using Web and Design Development Method

  • A new cultivation diary system based on environment sensor data and Web 2.0 with Flex is suggested, to improve the previous system using the subjective data of cultivators. The proposed system is designed by applying an object-oriented model called mini-architecture, in order to enhance the reliability of software as well as promote stability to overall system design. The environment sensor data such as temperature and humidity are used to develop the new reliable diary. Also, an active interface based on Web 2.0 and Android as the user GUI are implemented to maximize the convenience while recording the cultivation diary. The result of the performance evaluation shows that the data from sensors has 99.1% of correlation with that of analogue.

Scalable and Viable Paths to Printed (or Flexible) Electronics

  • Development of printed electronics, which is occasionally referred to as 'flexible' or 'polymer' electronics, has attracted considerable world wide attention in recent years. Printed (or flexible) electronics is currently expected to represent a new form of electronics and open up wide ranging applications in displays, electron devices for medical use, sensors, and other areas. This presentation aims to provide a strategy for scalable and viable paths to accomplish flexible, printable, large area circuits displaying high performance. Novel approaches evolving from system on package (SoP) to system on flex (SoF) technology will allow the integration of heterogeneous materials platforms into a system which is needed to enhance the functionality of the system. The talk also includes speculations about areas on which future advances in printed electronics could have a substantial impact along with a brief introduction of the Korea Printed Electronics Association (KoPEA).

가상 물체와 정확한 상호작용을 위한 개선된 손가락 굽힘각 측정 (Improved Finger Bending Angles Measurements for Accurate Interactions with Virtual Objects)

  • Various virtual gloves have been developed for the past four decades. These gloves have sensors that can measure bending angles at finger joints and the positions as well as orientations of hands. Previous researches were mostly concentrated on utilizing different kinds of sensors. As the technology matured, more interests are given towards building virtual reality applications. Furthermore, due to the recent reduction of costs, these devices have been widely adopted. Our particular interest lies in three-dimensional applications where virtual objects are grasped and manipulated. For these applications, it is crucial to accurately measure finger joints angles for realistic object interactions with the virtual hand. With inaccurate measurements, virtual hands would penetrate inside virtual objects after they are grasped. Or alternatively, virtual objects would be grasped before hands are making any contacts with virtual objects. In this paper, we introduce new design of virtual gloves for improved finger joints measurements.

굽힘 센서신호를 이용한 인공의수의 제어 (Control of an Artificial Arm using Flex Sensor Signal)

  • 본 연구는, 팔(하완)을 잃은 장애자용 인공 의수를 장애자가 자신의 의도에 따라 제어하기 위한 센서 시스템과 제어알고리즘에 관한 것이다. 먼저 장애자의 여러 가지 동작 의도를 검출할 수 있는 센싱 시스템을 연구하고 이 센싱 시스템으로부터 발생된 신호를 사용하여 인공의수를 제어하는 방법에 대하여 연구한다. 센서로서는 전기 저항식 굽힘 센서를 사용한다. 이 굽힘 센서를 팔의 상완 이두근과 오구완근에 각각 1개씩 단단히 부착한다. 부착된 센서로부터 출력된 신호는 근육의 굴곡량을 나타내며 팔의 동작의도를 판단 할 수 있는 신호처리 시스템을 통과시켜 하완의 굴곡과 신전 운동, 손의 내전과 외전 운동을 구별한다. 그리고 구별된 신호로부터 실제 팔의 운동 각도를 추정하여 인공의수의 각도를 제어한다. 본 연구의 효용성을 증명하기 위해 2개의 액추에이터와 포텐셔미터를 가진 간단한 인공의수를 제작하여 제어 실험을 하였다. 실험에서 실제 팔의 각도와 인공의수의 제어 각도 사이에는 센서 외부에서 발생되는 노이즈 및 인공의수의 회전 관성, 기계적인 마찰 등으로 인한 오차가 발생하였다. 따라서 오차 값과 오차의 변화 값에 근거한 퍼지 제어 알고리듬을 이용하여 재 실험을 한 결과 하완의 굴곡/신전 운동에서는 평균 약 4도, 손의 회내/외 운동에서는 평균 약 3도의 오차가 측정되어, 퍼지제어기를 설치한 이전보다 오차가 크게 개선되었다.

Intelligent Shoes for Detecting Blind Falls Using the Internet of Things

  • In our daily lives, we engage in a variety of tasks that rely on our senses, such as seeing. Blindness is the absence of the sense of vision. According to the World Health Organization, 2.2 billion people worldwide suffer from various forms of vision impairment. Unfortunately, blind people face a variety of indoor and outdoor challenges on a daily basis, limiting their mobility and preventing them from engaging in other activities. Blind people are very vulnerable to a variety of hazards, including falls. Various barriers, such as stairs, can cause a fall. The Internet of Things (IoT) is used to track falls and send a warning message to the blind caretakers. One of the gaps in the previous works is that they were unable to differentiate between falls true and false. Treating false falls as true falls results in many false alarms being sent to the blind caretakers and thus, they may reject the IoT system. As a means of bridging this chasm, this paper proposes an intelligent shoe that is able to precisely distinguish between false and true falls based on three sensors, namely, the load scale sensor, the light sensor, and the Flex sensor. The proposed IoT system is tested in an indoor environment for various scenarios of falls using four models of machine learning. The results from our system showed an accuracy of 0.96%. Compared to the state-of-the-art, our system is simpler and more accurate since it avoids sending false alarms to the blind caretakers.

초전도여자기를 이용한 초전도전원장치의 설계.제작 및 특성해석 (Design, Manufacture and Characteristic Experiment of a Superconducting power Supply with Superconducting Excitation Coil)

  • This paper describes a series of experiments to investigate the operational characteristics of a superconducting power supply with superconducting excitation coil. In this experiment, the superconducting excitation coil is introduced to control the pole-flex in the air gap of the machine. The operating current of the superconducting powder supply is designed to have the value of 300 [A] for the rotational speed of 600 rpm. Sensors installed on the Nb sheet yield the information on the spatial and temporal behaviors of the magnetic field in spot and on the characteristics of the superconducting power supply.

계층적 네트워크 기반 다중 모터 제어기의 안정도 분석 (Stability Analysis of Multi-motor Controller based on Hierarchical Network)

  • 인간형 로봇을 구동하기 위해서 로봇 내부에는 많은 수의 모터와 센서가 사용된다. 다수의 구동기를 연결할 때 생기는 배선의 문제를 해결하기 위해 통신 네트워크에 기반한 제어기를 사용해왔는데 구성 비용면에서 유리하고, 신뢰성이 높은 통신 프로토콜인 CAN이 주로 사용되었다. 제어기의 구조 측면에서 상위 제어기에 알고리즘을 탑재하기 쉬운 속도 제어형 구조가 선호되고 있는데, 이때 CAN의 낮은 통신 대역폭이 문제가 되며, 충분한 통신 대역폭을 얻기 위해 이전에는 다수의 CAN 네트워크로 분리해서 통신망을 구성하였다. 본 논문에서는 높은 통신 대역폭을 얻기 위해 고속의 FlexRay와 저속의 CAN 통신망이 계층적으로 연결된 다중 모터 제어 시스템에 대해 전송시간 지연에 대한 안정도 분석을 수행하고 허용된 전송시간 내에 센서 정보와 구동 신호를 전달하기 위한 게이트웨이의 구성과 노드 할당 방법에 관하여 연구한다. 제안된 계층적 네트워크 기반 제어시스템은 다중 모터제어 시스템의 제어성능을 높이고 안정도를 확보하는 데 이바지할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • Most of the current cultivation log is recorded by growers manually or whose environment information is input based on the grower's own judgement. It is not easy for growers to record the image of disease and insect pests in the cultivation log. In this regards, u-Farm cultivation log management system based on Web 2.0 and smart phone is introduced in this paper, that is used for the effective cultivation management and grower's convenience. In the system, the value of environment information is transmitted to servers via sensors. It designs and implements Web 2.0 Flex so as to make the cultivation log more reliable and provide users with active, convenient GUI in case the log is recorded by desktop. In this process, detailed modules are designed by object-oriented UML considering the reusability and maintenance of the system. Moreover, the system introduced in this paper is proved to be more excellent by the qualitative assessment compared with the other researches.
