  • Flat plate system has structural weakness such as punching shear. Punching shear resistance can be increase by using a lager column section and effective depth, higer concrete compressive strength, and more flexural reinforcement ratio. But using a shear reinforcement is most economical, enable, workable solution in flat plate. The slab with thickness smaller than 250mm can not perform effectively due to insufficient development length of shear reinforcement in the slab. In case of proposed reinforcements, since the shear reinforcements were installed between the top bar and the bottom bar, shear elements generated slip failure before they reached yield. strength. effect of anchorage strength were effective anchorage length, concrete strength, diameter of shear element and anchorage detail. considering effect of slab thickness and concrete strength, formula of K factor propose in thin flat plate slab. by considering effect of anchorage length and concrete strength, strength of shear reinforcement will be computed correctly in thin flat plate slab.

  • In the Korean literature, records of systematic gold thread manufacturing such as gold foil(金 箔匠), gold foil bonded with fabrics(付金匠), gold foil bonded with paper materials(金箋紙匠), refining gold(鍊金匠), cutting gold(裁金匠), and making gold thread(絲金匠) can be easily found. We can infer from these literatures that the Korean people used to make gold threads. However, is not existent the gold thread making technique. Thus, a research was done using 67 pieces of gold thread artifacts used in textiles craft of Korea, China and Japan. The purpose of this research was to identify the characteristics of the Korean gold thread by studying the artifacts' form classification, gold foil, glue and the base. First, gold thread is divided into flat gold thread and wrapped gold thread. Wrapped gold thread was made in more various methods such as with a paper on the flat gold thread, metal thread and wrapped gold thread with gold foil on top. Compared to the flat gold thread, wrapped gold thread uses a thread that has a thinner and wider. Through this analysis, even making of the base of the gold threads was different according to the type. Secondly, we looked into the characteristics of materials according to form structure of the gold thread. After analysis of experiment results, we could know that to attach Korean gold thread, glue and the mixture of materials such as Red soil(朱土) was also added. The kinds of the base of gold threads were identified as paper, leather and intestines. Among those materials, for paper, Korea's Dakji, China's Sangpiji(桑皮紙) and Jukji(竹紙) and Japan's Anpiji(雁皮紙) seemed to have all been used, so because of the difference among countries, we can prove that Korea has also produced gold thread. By looking at the research, the base of gold threads and making features hugely vary according to the area.

  • This research focused on pattern adjustments of the stable knit garment for women. Fourteen different types of the knitted fabrics by 12 gauge, computerized flat bed machines were cut in as one half of the torso front, one half of the torso back, and one side of the sleeves for each of them. Guidelines such as the center front, the center back, the armhole, the bust-line, the waistline, the hip-line the hemline were basted on the torso patterns in the knitted fabrics. Also the grain-line, the elbow-line, and the hemline were basted on the one side of the sleeves in the same as above knitted fabrics. The torso patterns in the knitted fabrics were exhibited on the dress-forms on top of the torso patterns in Muslin, which also have the same guidelines drawn on. The distances between the guidelines on Muslin and those on the knitted fabrics for each set of the sample fabrics were measured every three days for two weeks. The fabric properties of the fourteen knitted fabrics such as fiber contents, stitch density both in the wale and course directions, weight, thickness, stretch & recovery, residual shrinkage, relaxation and drapability were laboratory tested for how these were related to finished appearance of 12 gauge, computerized flat knit garments and also in order to prove the fourteen knitted fabrics fall to a category of such as the stable knit. The results from the investigation revealed that six fabric properties such as stitch density, thickness, stretch recovery, residual shrinkage and relaxation were not so much significant factors as weight and drapability. In conclusion, fabric weight, and drapability of the fabric resulting from fiber contents were the cause of final appearance distortion of garment. When adapting patterns for stabilized, 12 gauge, computerized flat knitted fabrics, the fiber contents of the fabrics should be taken into consideration to reduce the production cost and produce better-fit garments.

  • An Experimental study was conducted on the flow characteristics and interference heating caused by a two-dimensional object protruding from a flat plate using a blow-down type of hypersonic wind tunnel. Inflow condition was a free-stream Mach number of 7.0 and a unit Reynolds number of $2.0{\times}10^6/m$. Experimental conditions were varied with three heights of protuberance for two flat plate models which have different lengths. Experimental data were obtained from Schlieren visualization images and heat flux measurements. Also, this paper suggests hypersonic experimental techniques such as boundary-layer detection method in detail. A Large separation region was observed in front of the protuberance and that region was very sensitive to the height of protuberance and the length of the flat plate. For only the highest protuberance, a severe jump of heat flux was observed at the top station among the measuring points. Measured heat flux is large when the height of protuberance is large and the length of flat plate is long.

  • The design beam energy of PLS(Pohang Accelerator Laboratory) Linac is 2Gev. The linac employs total 11 units of modulators and klystrons. The maximum peak output powers of the modulators are 200MW (400kV, 500A, 4.4$\mu$S flat-top, 800$\Omega$ load) to drive the klystrons which have the peak microwave power of 80MW. Prior to the development of the 200MW modulators, a prototype 150MW modulator has been constructed and tested. We have achieved output pulses of 350kV, 420A and 3.5$\mu$S flat-top with 840$\Omega$ water load. In this article, the test results and computer simulations of charging, De-Q'ing, and discharging are presented.

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate the crack of coated Nitrocellulose Lacquer on flatand edge-grained boards of Quercus acutissima, ring-porous wood, and Betula platyphylla var. japonica, diffuse-porous wood, by variations of moisture contents at 7, 13 and 21%. Cold check system was used as an accelerating method for crack development, in which one cycle of the system consisted of 10 replications of each unit cycle, $60^{\circ}C$ for 4hr followdd by $-20^{\circ}C$ for 4hr. The analysis of Nitrocellulose Lacquer characteristics was made by means of water permeation measurement, F.T.I.R. spectroscopy, N.M.R. spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography, gas chromatography, and D.S.C. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The number of cracks increased with the increasing moisture content of board. 2. The crack of coated film on flat-grained board was fewer in number than on edge-grained board. 3. The crack occurred in Quercus acutissima was more numerous on edge-grained board but less frequent on flat-grained board compared with that in Betula platyphylla var. japonica, respectively. 4. The cold crack vertically developed to the grain both in Quercus acutissima and Betula platyphylla var. japonica. 5. Water permeability in intermediate coated film was lower than in under and top coated film, but the difference was not confirmed between under and top coated film.

  • Domestic photovoltaic system for roof-top is installed towards the south at an angle of 20 to 35 degrees and the shape of PV array is divided into two kinds; a plane shape and a curved shape. This paper aims to understand an actual condition of PV facility and strengths and weaknesses of support structure production and installation and to consider the best PV surface shape by analyzing theoretical logics of these two surface shapes and architectural perspective-based realistic case studies. This study targeted 98 facilities including common houses, public institutions and education institutions. In common houses, all of 59 PV facilities have a plane surface. In public institutions, 7 of 15 PV facilities have a curved array surface and 8 PV facilities have a plane surface. In education institutions, also, 14 of 24 PV facilities have a plane array surface and 10 PV facilities have a curved surface. Most of 98 facilities have a flat roof supporting shape. However, it was found that the curved shape wasn't positive for PV generation due to the change of radial density and it was at least 10 % more expensive to produce its structure. Also, domestic general large single-plate PV facilities have problems of harmony with buildings and wind load. Therefore, it is considered that for fixed-type roof-top PV, a plane PV array shape is good for optimum generation and economic efficiency and a parallel array structure on the roof surface is favorable to wind load and snow load without being a hindrance to the building facade.

  • Understanding the seawater infiltration into tidal flat sediments is very important, because it is significantly correlated with the supply of dissolved oxygen, nutrients and organic matter to benthic organisms for survival. However oil blocks interstitial spaces of sediments, reduces seawater infiltration and results in the decrease in oxygen, nutrients and other food supply to benthic communities. The penetration depth of the stranded oil into the sediments is one of the most significant information to know the effect of spilled oil on biological communities and to set up a cleaning method. So we initiated this study to quantify the penetration behavior of spilled oil and to evaluate the influence of the penetrated oil on seawater infiltration in tidal flat environment and its ecological implications. The penetration depth of the crude oil into the tidal flat sediments was two times deeper than that of the fuel oil C, and the depth was significantly affected by stranded oil volume. However, the penetration depth of stranded oil was abruptly dropped at first falling tide but not significantly fluctuated after that. Moreover, hydrocarbon concentration showed the highest within the upper 2 cm. Seawater infiltration was decreased in proportion to the stranded oil volume. The seawater infiltration was more affected by the penetrated fuel oil C about 1.7 times than the crude oil, because the interstitial spaces of the top of sediments were more cleared by the fuel oil C. Therefore, quick cleaning actions for penetrated oil will be necessary for recovery of seawater infiltration because the seawater contains oxygen and nutrients necessary for the survival of benthic organisms in tidal flat.

  • The calibration for systematic error in LiDAR is crucial for the accuracy of airborne laser scanning. The main error is the misalignment of platforms between INS(Inertial Navigation System) and Laser scanner For planimetrical calibration of LiDAR, the building is good feature which has great changes in height and continuous flat area in the top. The planimetry error(pitch, roll) is corrected by adjustment of height which is calculated from comparing ground control points(GCP) of building to laser scanning data. We can know scale correction of laser range by the comparison of LiDAR data and GCP is arranged at the end of scan angle where maximize the height error. The area for scale calibration have to be large flat and have almost same elevation. At 1000m for average flying height, The Accuracy of laser scanning data using LiDAR is within 110cm in height and ${\pm}$50cm in planmetry so we can use laser scanning data for generating 3D terrain surface, expecically digital surface model(DSM) which is difficult to measure by aerial photogrammetry in forest, coast, urban area of high buildings

  • A flat-type membrane bioreactor(FMBR ) for aerobic whole cell immobilization was developed and its performance for the citric acid production was investigated using Aspergillus niger (KCTC 1232). The reactor consisted of three layers. The top layer contained flowing air for oxygen supply, the middle layer had stationary cells, and the bottom layer had flowing aqueous nutrients. The initial pH of the culture medium played an important role in citric acid production and the lower initial pH of the culture medium resulted in a higher citric acid yield. Under air and pure oxygen aerations the volumetric productivity reached 0.20 and 0.40g/Lh. Furthermore, the productivity improved with the increase of the culture medium feed rate.
