고온고습 시험을 이용한 실리콘 태양전지 모듈의 수명 예측 연구 (A study of lifetime prediction of PV module using damp heat test)

  • To analyze the phenomenon of corrosion in the PV module, we experimented damp heat test at $85^{\circ}C$/85% relative humidity(RH) and $65^{\circ}C$/85% RH for 2,000 hours, respectively. We used 30 mini-modules designed of 6inch one cell. Despite of 2,000 hours test, measured $P_{max}$ is not reached failure which is defined less than 80% compared to initial $P_{max}$. Therefore, we calculate proper curve fitting over 2,000 hours. Data less than 80% $P_{max}$ is found and B10 lifetime is calculated by the number of failure specimens and weibull distribution. Using B10 lifetime that the point of failure rate 10% and Peck's model, the predictable equation of lifetime was derived under temperature and humidity condition.

디젤 인젝터의 분사율 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Injection Rate Characteristics of a Diesel Injector)

  • In this study, Injection rate tests of a Diesel common-rail injector have been performed with injection volume measurement type injection rate test system EMI21 for construction of injector model can be used in an engine calibration mean valued model. The measuring principle of the test system is based on measurement of dispalcement of a movable measurement piston by the volume of fluid released by the injector. From these injection rate test results, the characteristics on shape of instantaneous injection rate and injection fuel amount have been investigated and injection fuel amount calculation equation based on test results has been newly constructed. This equation is very simple and calculation error is less than 5% with test results for wide range injection pressure (200~1800 bar) and injection duration ($200{\sim}1800{\mu}s$) conditions. So, it is anticipated that newly constructed simple injection fuel amount model in this study can be efficiently used on engine calibration and control model.

Experimental study on the tensile strength of gravelly soil with different gravel content

  • In recent years, the crack accidents of earth and rockfill dams occur frequently. It is urgent to study the tensile strength and tensile failure mechanism of the gravelly soil in the core for the anti-crack design of the actual high earth core rockfill dam. Based on the self-developed uniaxial tensile test device, a series of uniaxial tensile test was carried out on gravelly soil with different gravel content. The compaction test shows a good linear relationship between the optimum water content and gravel content, and the relation curve of optimum water content versus maximum dry density can be fitting by two times polynomial. For the gravelly soil under its optimum water content and maximum dry density, as the gravel content increased from 0% to 50%, the tensile strength of specimens decreased from 122.6 kPa to 49.8 kPa linearly. The peak tensile strain and ultimate tensile strain all decrease with the increase of the gravel content. From the analysis of fracture energy, it is proved that the tensile capacity of gravelly soil decreases slightly with the increasing gravel content. In the case that the sample under the maximum dry density and the water content higher than the optimum water content, the comprehensive tensile capacity of the sample is the strongest. The relevant test results can provide support for the anti-crack design of the high earth core rockfill dam.

탑재형 발전기 적용에 따른 이상소음 개선 방안에 관한 연구 (A study on the way to improve abnormal noise by applying vehicle fitting type generator)

  • 본 연구는 소형전술차량에 적용된 탑재형 발전기에 의해 발생되는 이상 소음 개선방안에 대한 것이다. 소형전술차량은 탑재형 발전기의 장착 유·무로 구분되며, 개발 시험 시 이에 따른 소음 크기의 차이는 없었다. 하지만, 차량을 운용하면서 사용자가 느끼기에 불쾌한 소음(이상 소음)이 발생된다는 지속적인 문제제기에 따라 품질개선을 수행하게 되었다. 품질개선을 수행하기에 앞서 탑재형 발전기 단품 및 장착 구조와 문제가 제기된 차량에 대한 현상 확인 및 원인 분석을 수행하였다. 이를 통해 탑재형 발전기 장착에 따라 발생하는 이상 소음은 래틀소음에 의한 것임을 확인하였다. 엔진 구동계에서 래틀소음이 발생되는 일반적인 원인은 엔진 폭발 행정시 발생되는 불규칙한 회전력의 전달과 엔진 연결기와 회전자 조립체 간 스플라인-세레이션 연결 구조에서 발생되는 기어 백래쉬에 의한 것이었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 원인으로 분석된 이상 소음의 원인을 해소하기 위해 댐퍼형 연결기를 적용하는 개선방안을 수립하였다. 개선 방안에 대해서는 엔진의 불규칙한 회전력의 영향성, 소음의 정도, 동특성 해석 및 단품 내구시험 등을 통해 개선효과를 확인하였다.

콘택트렌즈를 임시 제거한 상태에서의 착용 조건에 따른 굴절력 변화 (Refractive Power Changes after Removal of Contact Lenses)

  • 목적: 소프트 콘택트렌즈를 일시 제거한 상태에서 굴절보정을 위한 굴절검사 시의 굴절력 변화를 평가하고자 하였다. 방법: 17세에서 39세(평균 $24{\pm}4.8$세)의 소프트 렌즈 착용자 91명(남자 15명, 여자 76명 총 182안)을 대상으로 하였다. 렌즈를 제거한 뒤 즉시, 30분, 60분, 90분 후 타각적, 자각적 굴절검사 및 각막곡률반경검사를 하였다. 렌즈의 종류, 피팅 및 착용 상태별로 측정 시간에 따른 굴절력 변화를 평가하였다. 결과: 타각적, 자각적 굴절검사 및 각막곡률반경검사에서 측정 시간대별로 유의한 변화를 보였다(p<0.0001). 굴절력은 측정 초기(렌즈 제거 후 30분 후)에서 완만한 근시화 경향을, 그리고 측정 후반(렌즈 제거 후 60분에서 90분)에서 미약한 근시화 경향을 보였다. 렌즈 종류, 피팅 상태, 착용 시간, 착용 일수 및 검사 전날의 수면 시간에 따른 유의한 차이는 없었으나, 각막곡률의 변화에서 측정 시간과 렌즈 종류(p=0.017), 피팅 상태(p=0.019) 및 수면 시간(p=0.010) 간의 상호작용 효과는 유의하였다. 결론: 소프트 콘택트렌즈의 종류, 피팅 및 착용 상태와 상관없이 렌즈 제거 후 굴절력과 각막곡률의 안정화 시점은 적어도 60분 이상으로 나타났다. 따라서 굴절보정을 위한 굴절검사 시 가능한 60분 이상 기다린 후 실시하여야 할 것이다.

단신 : 페달링 시 정량적인 동적 피팅을 위한 실시간 평가 시스템 (Technical-note : Real-time Evaluation System for Quantitative Dynamic Fitting during Pedaling)

  • In this study, a real-time evaluation system for quantitative dynamic fitting during pedaling was developed. The system is consisted of LED markers, a digital camera connected to a computer and a marker detecting program. LED markers are attached to hip, knee, ankle joint and fifth metatarsal in the sagittal plane. Playstation3 eye which is selected as a main digital camera in this paper has many merits for using motion capture, such as high FPS (Frame per second) about 180FPS, $320{\times}240$ resolution, and low-cost with easy to use. The maker detecting program was made by using Labview2010 with Vision builder. The program was made up of three parts, image acquisition & processing, marker detection & joint angle calculation, and output section. The digital camera's image was acquired in 95FPS, and the program was set-up to measure the lower-joint angle in real-time, providing the user as a graph, and allowing to save it as a test file. The system was verified by pedalling at three saddle heights (knee angle: 25, 35, $45^{\circ}$) and three cadences (30, 60, 90 rpm) at each saddle heights by using Holmes method, a method of measuring lower limbs angle, to determine the saddle height. The result has shown low average error and strong correlation of the system, respectively, $1.18{\pm}0.44^{\circ}$, $0.99{\pm}0.01^{\circ}$. There was little error due to the changes in the saddle height but absolute error occurred by cadence. Considering the average error is approximately $1^{\circ}$, it is a suitable system for quantitative dynamic fitting evaluation. It is necessary to decrease error by using two digital camera with frontal and sagittal plane in future study.

Orthodontic pain control following arch wire placement; a comparison between pre-emptive tenoxicam and chewing gum: a randomized clinical trial

  • Background: Pain during fixed orthodontic treatment can have a detrimental effect on patient treatment compliance. To overcome this, there is a definite need to establish the best pain-relieving methods suitable for orthodontic patients in terms of efficacy and use. The objective of this study was to compare the effect of chewing gum and pre-emptive tenoxicam on pain after initial archwire placement and to evaluate the pain perceptions of orthodontic patients in the two groups while performing various functions at specific time intervals. Methods: Forty-two patients were selected and randomly divided into two groups: group A (chewing gum) and group B (pre-emptive tenoxicam). Pain perception was documented by patients immediately; at 4 h; at bedtime on the day of archwire placement; the next morning; at 24 h; and at bedtime on the 2nd, 3rd, and 7th day after the initial archwire placement. Pain scores were noted during fitting of the posterior teeth, biting, and chewing using a visual analog scale. The data obtained were subjected to statistical analysis. Results: Group A showed a significant increase in pain until the next morning while fitting the posterior teeth, biting, and chewing [36.2, 52.0, 33.4, respectively]], followed by a gradual decrease by the 7th day. Group B showed a significant increase in pain at bedtime on biting, with a peak value of 47.5. Pain on chewing, fitting posterior teeth, peaked the morning of the next day (100.0, 45.0). The Freidman test showed a statistically significant difference with a p-value of < 0.01. Higher pain scores were observed while chewing and biting compared with that while fitting the posterior teeth in both groups. The overall comparison of pain control between the two groups was not statistically significant [P > 0.05] between the two groups. Conclusions: Chewing gum was not inferior to pre-emptive tenoxicam. Thus, chewing gum is a non-pharmacological alternative to analgesics for orthodontic pain control that eliminates the chance of adverse reactions and can be used in the absence of adult observation.

노년 남성의 의복착용 실태조사 -체형 변화와 기성복 만족도를 중심으로- (Clothing Condition of Elderly Men Focusing on Somatotype Variation and Satisfaction with Ready-to-Wear)

  • The purpose of this study was to understand clothing condition of elderly men focusing on somatotype variation and satisfaction with ready-to-wear and to provide basic data in designing ready-to-wrar for the elderly men. The questionnaire method was used and one-to-one interviews were held for the elderly residents in Seoul, Deajon, Jonju, and Yeosu areas. The total of 275 questionnaires (from 148 elderly men in the 60's, 99 in the 70's and 28 in the 80's) were collected and used for statistics. SAS package was used for the statistics and the statistics were based on frequency, X2-test, ANOVA, Duncan's multifle range test. The results of the study were as follows; 1) Height (p< .05), weight (p< .001) and Rohrer index (p< .05) decreased significantly with ageing 2) The somatotypes of 75.6% were changed and the 70's 8t the 80's showed significantly (p< .05) higher changing rate compared to the 60's and more changes took place significantly (p< .001) with ageing. 3) The most preferred out wear was suit & tie and next was jumper or shirt. 4) For the mode of getting suit, the highest number 55.3%) purchased ready-to-wear, next (32.0%) was tailored and the least (12.7%) neither purchased nor tailored. The percentage of buying ready-to-wear significantly (p< .01) decreased with ageing. The main reason for getting tailor-made was not well fitting of ready-to-wear (20.7% out of 32.0%). And for the mode of getting suit, there was significant differance with income (p< .001) and pocket money (p< .01). 5) The most important factors in suit and shirt werefirst, size (fitness) and second, comfort in movement. 6) For the wearing feeling of suit, 55.3% showed discomfort. There was significant difference according to the age (p< .05) and pocket money (p< .05). The Discomfort increased with ageing and less pocket money. 7) 62.4% answered it uneasy to Pick out well fitting If comfortable suit. This showed their dissatisfaction with ready-to-wear. 8) As for the items of not well fitting, 64.4% answered in jacket, 60.8% in trousers, 46.0% in shirt. The above result shows that elderly men's somatotype changes as they age, suit is found uncomfortable and it's not easy for elders to pick out comfortable ready-to-wear. So, they seem to have a certain dissatisfaction in ready to wear. Therefore, there is a need for reorganization of size and developing pattern design according to measurement of elderly men.

난청인의 통화 청취도 향상을 위한 전화기 개발 (A Development of Telephone for the Hearing Impaired to Improve Listening Ability of Telephone Speech)

  • 청력장애인이 전화상의 말에 대한 청취력을 향상시킬수 있는 보청기능이 있는 전화기를 개발하였다. 최근 청력장애인이 늘어나고 있으며 생산자로서의 사회참여 욕구 또한 늘어나고 있는데 이들은 자신의 핸디캡을 메워줄 보조기기를 강력히 원하고 있다. 보청기능 전화기는 음성으로써 외부 정보를 획득할 수 있는 기본적인 통신 보조기기의 한 형태이다. 본 연구팀은 청력장애인의 청력특성을 분석하고 전화기에 청력 보상법을 적용함으로써 보청기능이 있는 새로운 모델의 전화기를 개발하였고 3가지 분야의 시험(전기적 시험, 단어 인지도 시험, 사용자 시험)을 수행하여 이 전화기의 유용성을 평가하였다. 새 전화기는 4개의 대역통과필터를 가지고 있으며 각 밴드의 중심주파수는 전화라인의 특성과 심리음향학적인 특성을 고려하여 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 Hz로 설정하였다. 청력장애인은 전화기의 증폭특성을 자신의 청력에 맞도록 피팅(fitting)할 수 있다. 즉 자신의 손실된 청력을 잘 보상하도록 4개 필터밴드에 대한 볼륨조절을 개별적으로 조정할 수 있다. 전화기의 전체 이득은 250~32000Hz 대역내에서 20㏈ 이상이다. 시험결과 새 모델의 전화기가 기존의 전화기보다 청력장애인의 전화음성 이해도를 향상 시킨다고 증명되었다. 향후 측음 및 잡음 억제, 주파수 대역분리, 청력패턴 보상과 심리음향적 라우드니스(loudness)보상에 대한 연구가 필요하며 공학과 임상 분야에서의 청력장애인의 언어 이지특성 연구를 통하여 더욱 발전된 전화기가 개발될 수 있다고 판단된다.

Comparison of mass operator methods considering test uncertainties

  • In the space industry, structures undergo several vibration and acoustic tests in order to verify their design and give confidence that they will survive the launch and other critical in-orbit dynamic scenarios. At component level, vibration tests are conducted with the aim to reach local or global interface loads without exceeding the design loads. So, it is often necessary to control and limit the input based on a load criterion. This means the test engineer should be able to assess the interface loads, even when load cannot be measured. This paper presents various approaches to evaluate interface loads using measured accelerations and by referring to mass operators. Various methods, from curve fitting techniques to finite element-based methods are presented. The methods are compared using signals with known imperfection to identify strengths and weaknesses of each mass operator definition.
