The number of buildings is growing at a rapid pace in Korea. It is driven by significant economic improvements, the rapid population growth and urban centralization. Such being this case, some city are underway to building enlargement, Manhattanization. To Solve these problem and ensure the safety of live, fire Evacuation Simulation system is used for safe check of buildings. Forecasting an egress behavior in building fire is so important in order to construct a safe and reliable environment. But, currently most of the fire evacuation simulation system used in practice are foreign software that is not reflect korean conditions. Thus, This study focus on objectives that develop a fire evacuation system considering Korean Characteristics and create 3D space-based topology. so the system calculate evacuation path. This system developed as a result of research can be used by architectural designer in practice due to it is based 3D spatial information modeling.

This study uses Pathfinder software to simulate and analyze the safe evacuation of university dormitory occupants. Fire safety issues in densely populated dormitory buildings are gaining increasing attention, and improving emergency evacuation efficiency is crucial for reducing the harm caused by fire incidents. The study focuses on a student dormitory building in a university, simulating different evacuation scenarios and analyzing the impact of factors such as evacuation routes, personnel distribution, exit width, and stair width on evacuation time. Based on the actual dormitory conditions, parameters such as gender ratio, height range, shoulder width, and walking speed of the occupants were set, and evacuation times in various scenarios were compared. The simulation results show that proper planning of evacuation routes and increasing stair width significantly reduced evacuation times. The study recommends that universities establish systematic emergency response plans, conduct regular evacuation drills, optimize student dormitory layouts, and consider increasing stair width in dormitory building designs to improve evacuation efficiency and safety.
In this study, fire and evacuation safety of environmental energy facilities using fire and evacuation simulation was examined as part of performance-oriented design. The worst-case fire scenarios in which fire-fighting facilities such as sprinkler fire extinguishing and smoke control systems are not working, and the FDS analyzes the visibility, temperature distribution, and carbon monoxide concentration distribution through FDS. The safety was examined. As a result, it was proved that evacuation could limit the visibility, temperature, and carbon monoxide concentration in a smooth range, based on the safety standards set by relevant laws. In other words, it was possible to verify the safety of fire and evacuation for environmental energy facilities where a large amount of combustibles and fires coexist.
This paper presents a study on the evacuation analysis in underground arcade. In this study, the effect of the exit with a windbreak door has been investigated by using evacuation simulation program (building EXODUS). Also, the simulation has included the impact of smoke, heat and toxic gases by fire simulation program (CFAST). The results were obtained for the conditions of without and with door of the two exit with 1,088 evacuation population. As a results, for non-fire evacuation, there was only a little difference of evacuation time for both conditions. However, for fire emergency evacuation, the evacuation time for the condition with door increased more 110 seconds than for the condition without door. When the auto door not opened, the evacuation time was increased more 670 seconds than for the condition without door. Consequently, in case of fire, the automatic door should be operating by the signal of fire detector and keep open when the fire accidents. To lead the evacuees well to the escape route the luminaries for an emergency exit sign have to be reinforced to the wall and floor around the exit.
For safe evacuation in the fire disaster, the evacuees must find the exit and evacuate quickly. Especially, if the evacuees don't know the location of the exit, they have to depend on the evacuation guidance system. Because the more smoke spread, the less visibility is decreasing, it is difficult to find the way to the exit by the naked eye. For theses reasons, the evacuation guidance system is highly important. However, the evacuation guidance system without change of direction has the risk that introduce to the dangerous area. In the evacuation safety assessment scenario by the evacuation simulation has the same problem. Because the evacuee in the simulation evacuate by the shortest route to the exit, the simulation result is same like the evacuation without the evacuation guidance system. In this study, it was used with MAS (Multi Agent System)-based simulation program including the evacuation guidance system to implement the change of evacuation by fire. Using this method, confidence of evacuation safety assessment can be increase.

Purpose: In fire case, nursing hospitals are subject to considerable restrictions on evacuation due to the characteristics of occupants and vulnerable elements of buildings, it is important to make evacuation device for vulunerabale person, and need how to intend to increase the efficiency of evacuation by fire and evacuation simulation with helper Method: The smoke characteristics were analyzed by time through fire simulation, finally, the number of helpers according to the day and night was entered, and the evacuation completion time was compared and analyzed using the evacuation simulation. Result: It was found that the evacuation time was shortened by more than 20% when the evacuation assistance device was used for the vulnerable, and the evacuation time was delayed by almost 70% in case of a fire at night compared to the daytime. Conclusion: If the horizontal and vertical evacuation device are effectively utilized in actual fire situations, a strategy appropriate to the situation is deemed necessary. It is expected that evacuation efficiency will increase based on the use of horizontal evacuation evacuation device and vertical evacuation device by developing evacuation manuals

In this study, it was analyzed by a numerical analysis that plan/design considerations for ensuring the spectator safety of large arena audiences in a fire emergency evacuation plan. The latest issue, the 'performance-based design', fire and evacuation plan is important. But nowadays 'Specification-based design' is in common. In evacuation simulation, congestion of exit and aisle is ignored because only evacuation time of large-space is mainly analyzed. In smoke flow,'smoke filling effect' tends to be overrated. From now on, when design a field house, it is needed not 'smoke filling effect' and 'large-space evacuation' analysis, but analyzing 'whole building evacuation time' for ensuring fire evacuation safety of spectator.

Maritime accidents caused by a ship include collisions, sinking, stranding and fire etc. This study is intending to consider fire accidents among such diverse marine accidents. It is much likely that various sorts of fires break out because crewmen are living in a narrow space for long periods of time consequent on the ship's characteristic of sailing on the sea. According to the ship fire survey, about 50% of the total fire accidents occurred at an engine room, and the main fire origin was analyzed to be oil. In addition, ship fire breaks out in the order of baggage racks and living quarter. In short, the survey indicates that all sorts of fires belonging to A, B, C and D-class have occurred. This study, targeting an actual passenger ship 'A', found the response time to evacuation, during which the people on board a ship recognize the outbreak of fire, and act, and the travel time for evacuation which is the actual travel time. In addition, this study carried out a simulation through the special program for fire analysis - FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) in order to find the effective evacuation time, i.e. life survival time. Particularly, this study did comparative analysis of the influence on the survival of passengers and crew based on the collected simulation data by fire size and sort. As a result of the analysis, it was found that when examining the only actual evacuation movement time excepting the response time to evacuation, people are safe by completing evacuation before the effective evacuation time only in case fire size is 100Kw among all sorts of fires. In other words, in case of the outbreak of fire more than 1 MW, it was found to fail to meet evacuation safety regardless of fire size.

In this study, using the FDS as the fire simulation and evacuation simulations of the Pathfinder, set the main control room of the building to the fire point fire safety assessment studies were carried out. At first the quantitative result such as distribution of visibility as time passing, distribution of temperature, distribution of CO density produced results using fire-simulation and evacuation-simulation was carried out based on the result that produced the final safety evaluation result as being calculated of evacuation time. As the risk increased with the distribution of visibility at the result of fire-simulation, evacuation-simulation was carried out using the result. Finally the result was made 127.9 sec that everyone could evacuate. The numerical results are analyzed in case of the places in the building required safe egress time for safety a as the analysis to be no more than available safe egress time was analyzed to be secured. The results of this safety evaluation represent that more smooth evacuation safety performance can be secured by linking the event of fire firefighting equipment as a result of simulating the worst conditions.

In recent years, the frequent occurrence of fire accidents in university libraries has posed significant threats to the safety of students' lives and property, alongside negative social impacts. Accurately analyzing the factors affecting evacuation during library fires and proposing optimized measures for safe evacuation is thus crucial. This paper utilizes a specific university library as a case study, simulating fire evacuation scenarios using the Pathfinder software, to assess and validate evacuation strategies and propose relevant optimizations. Pathfinder, developed by Thunderhead Engineering in the United States, is an intuitive and straightforward personnel emergency evacuation assessment system, offering advanced visualization interfaces and 3D animation effects. This study aims to construct evacuation models and perform simulation analysis for the selected university library using Pathfinder. The library's structural layout, people flow characteristics, and the nature of fire and smoke spread are considered in the analysis. Additionally, evacuation scenarios involving different fire outbreak locations and the status of emergency exits are examined. The findings underscore the importance of effective evacuation in fire situations, highlighting how environmental conditions, individual characteristics, and behavioral patterns significantly influence evacuation efficiency. Through these investigations, the study enhances understanding and optimization of evacuation strategies in fire scenarios, thereby improving safety and efficiency. The research not only provides concrete and practical guidelines for building design, management, and emergency response planning in libraries but also offers valuable insights for the design and management of effective evacuation systems in buildings, crucial for ensuring occupant safety and minimizing loss of life in potential hazard situations
