  • In this paper, a bulging condition which affect the quality of continuous casting steel was analyzed by using the numerical analytic method. First, solidification analyses were performed for each cooling zone by one-dimensional finite difference method. The bulging deformation of cast slab has been calculated with a two-dimensional elasto-plastic and creep finite element model. The adequacy of the model has been checked against the experimental results. From this study the effects of the process variables such as casting speed, cooling condition and roll pitch were examined. The results from these analyses would be able to apply to the design of continuous casting process.

  • In this paper, we focus on the convex-valued selection theorem out of four main selection theorems; zero-dimensional, convex-valued, compact-valued, finite-dimensional theorems based on Michael's papers. We prove some theorems about lower semi-continuous set-valued mappings, and derive some applications to closed continuous set-valued mappings and to functional analysis. We also give a partial solution to the open problem posed by Engelking, Heath, and Michael.

  • Let H be a finite dimensional Hopf algebra over a field k, and A be an H-module algebra over k which the H-action on A is D-continuous. We show that $Q_{max}(A)$, the maximal ring or quotients of A, is an H-module algebra. This is used to prove that if H is a finite dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra and A is a semiprime right(left) Goldie algebra than $A#H$ is a semiprime right(left) Goldie algebra. Assume that Asi a semiprime H-module algebra Then $A^H$ is left Artinian if and only if A is left Artinian.
