  • This paper presents an integrative control scheme for series-type active power filters combined with shunt passive filters not only to compensate for the source voltage unbalance and current harmonics but also to correct the power factor. To reduce the power capacity of the active filters, passive filters are connected in parallel. Diode rectifiers are replaced by the PWM converters in order to feed the real power back to the source. Power factor control is performed by changing the phase of the load voltage so that the phase of the source current coincides with that of the source voltage. The resultant voltage reference is the addition of the voltage component compensating for the source voltage unbalance and harmonic currents and the voltage component correcting the power factor. The validity of the proposed algorithm has been verified by experimental results.

  • In this poster, we present standard calibration processes and results for photometry of $H-{\alpha}$ filter using broadband filters. We took data from a night in stable weather condition. And we derived parameters for band pass calibration including color terms. The corrected photometry results from broadband filters like V and R filters showed high correlation enough to replace instrumental $H-{\alpha}$ magnitude. We plan to extend these standardizing processes to another narrowband filters and flux calibration of narrowband filters from photometry of PNe.

  • Oceanographic applications of digital filters are studied with special emphasis on the convolution filter with Hamming window and the recursive filters. Convolution filters are simple to understand and easy to design but not efficient for a long data set. Recursive filters, despite of the complexities, have advantages on economy and filter characteristic. By means of digital filtering technique we find that the alongshore wind at Pusan and the sea surface temperature at Gampo in summers during 1973 to 1979 are negatively correlated at low frequencies (periods longer than 5 days) but not so at high frequencies.

  • In this study, Nylon 6,6 electrospun (ES) nanofiber filter media were prepared at various spinning conditions. The ES filters tested had no intrinsic electrical charges. The ES filters were triboelectrically charged in the course of filter sample handling, and the charge was drastically decayed in a few hours. On the other hand, the corona charged melt blown filter media showed a permanent electrical charge. The electrical charge state of the ES filters was also examined by comparing collection efficiencies of ES filters for uncharged and charged aerosol particles.

  • In JPEG2000, the Cohen-Daubechies-Feauveau (CDF) 9/7-tap wavelet filter adopted in lossy compression is implemented by the lifting scheme or by the convolution scheme while the LeGall 5/3-tap wavelet filter adopted in lossless compression is implemented just by the lifting scheme. However, these filters are not optimal in terms of Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) values, and irrational coefficients of wavelet filters are complicated. In this paper, we proposed a method to optimize image quality based on wavelet filter design and on wavelet decomposition. First, we propose a design of wavelet filters by selecting the most appropriate rational coefficients of wavelet filters. These filters are shown to have better performance than previous wavelet ones. Then, we choose the most appropriate wavelet decomposition to get the optimal PSNR values of images.

  • The hybrid design which is to take IIR filter of the first stage as a second order pole-zero model and minimize the filter length of the of the FIR filter of the following stage is presented. The outcome of the simulation showed us that the the filter length in the hybrid filters was remarkably decreased compared to that of the hybrid filters which take the IIR filter as a all-pole model. Although the hybrid filters couldn't obtain the exact linear phase. it was superior to the IIR filters in passband and stopband.

  • The band-stop filters which resonate at intervals of one-quarters, and three-quarters guide-wave length are designed and its frequency characteristics are measured. 2K25 klystrons (at 8000MC) were used as microwaves source. This bandstop filters were designed from low pass prototype and the Impedance of Impedance of these filters was made to be equal to one of the low pass prototype. It is demonstrated that the filters considered here, have narrow stop bandwidths and sharp characteristics in the stop band.

  • The object color does not look same under the different light source. It depends on the surface spectral reflectance and the spectral distribution of light source. Therefore we should find the surface spectral reflectance of object color and the spectral distribution of light source for color reproduction. Using Winer estimation, we can reconstruct the spectral reflectance from low dimensional images obtained with a few filters. The kind and the number of filters have the effect on the estimation of the spectral reflectance. Therefore it is important that optimal filters are selected to minimize the error of the result. In this paper, we describe methods to select optimal filters with minimum error between measured and estimated surface spectral reflectance and to estimate surface spectral reflectance of Munsell color from six band images by using Wiener estimation.

  • In this paper, some kinds of (skew) filters are defined and are studied in residuated skew lattices. Some relations are got between these filters and quotient algebras constructed via these filters. The Green filter is defined which establishes a connection between residuated lattices and residuated skew lattices. It is investigated that relationships between Green filter and other types of filters in residuated skew lattices and the relationship between residuated skew lattice and other skew structures are studied. It is proved that for a residuated skew lattice, skew Hilbert algebra and skew G-algebra are equivalent too.

  • In this paper, fSDF/POF, BPOF spatial matched filters are designed and implemented by CGH. The correlation characteristics for the suggested filters are analyzed for the distorted input images. Input patterns are obtained from the out-of-plane aircraft images by gradually rotating it, and then used for SDF training images. Modified version of LCD is used for a real-time input device of an optical correlator, and CGH-based fSDF filters are fabricated on film mask for spatial matched filter in order to recognize the distorted images. Total optical corrlator system size is effectively reduced to 148.8 cm by using lens combinations. Computer simulations and experimental results show that the suggested phase filters have nearly uniform correlation characteristics and have good classification capabilities between two classes.
