  • In [6] Y. B. Jun et al. fuzzified the concept of BCK-filters in BCK-algebrs and investigated its properties. In this paper we investigate further properties of fuzzy BCK-filters.

  • As a generalization of the concept of a fuzzy implicative filter which is introduced by Liu and Li [3], the notion of (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy implicative filters is introduced, and related properties are investigated. The relationship between (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy filters and (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy implicative filters is established. Conditions for an (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy filter to be an (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy implicative filter are considered. Characterizations of an (${\in}$, ${\in}{\vee}q_k$)-fuzzy implicative filter are provided, and the implication-based fuzzy implicative filters of an $R_0$-algebra is discussed.

  • The effects of pleating parameters on the performance of cylindrical cartridge air filters was experimentally studied. The tested filters are 150 mm in outer diameter and 700 mm in length. As the pleat count increases, the pressure drop across a cartridge filter is decreased for a constant pleat depth and flow rate. This is due to the increased filtration area which brings out less pressure loss of the filter. However, in the case of the filters having the pleat depth of 40 mm, the inner diameter of the cartridges is so small that the pressure loss is greatly increased.

  • Because of the high cost for the active power filter, passive filters have been widly used to eliminate harmonic currents of nonlinear load and can also improve the power factor. They are not often optimal filters because the passive filters are designed under the fixed load conditions. In this paper we proposed the method which only the necessary harmonic filters are operated by detecting the various harmonic current components. We presents the new control method of passive filter selection type with the relay control circuit which is consist of analog GIC, comparater, flip-flop and etc. By the experimental results using the proposed system for the rectifier load, we concluded that the researched method is cost effective and the performance is better than the passive filter.

  • Multi-Carrier Spread Spectrum communications has shown the ability of transform domain excision using the wavelet transformation to improve system performance when transmitting signals in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise and interference. In such work, the transforms were implemented using FIR filters and IIR filter. Some well-known classes of sequences, such as Pseudo noise, Walsh, Cold sequences are evaluated with respect to the basic criteria. The main objective is to implement the wavelet transform using IIR filters. This filters are well known to have sharper transition regions leading to better performance. Numerical simulation of multi-carrier spread spectrum communication systems have shown that IIR filters are better in removing the sinusoidal jammer and subsequently yield better BER performance.

  • In this paper, a novel control scheme compensating source voltage unbalance and harmonic currents for hybrid active power filters is proposed, where no low/high-pass filters are used in compensation voltage composition. The phase angle and compensation voltages for source harmonic current and unbalanced voltage components are derived from the positive sequence component of the unbalanced voltage set, which is simply obtained by using digital all-pass filters. Since a balanced set of the source voltage obtained by scaling the positive sequence components is used as reference values for source current and load voltage, it is possible to eliminate the necessity of low/high-pass filters in the reference generation. Therefore the control algorithm is much simpler and gives more stable performance than the conventional method. In addition, the source harmonic current is eliminated by compensating for the harmonic voltage of the load side added to feedback control of the fundamental component.

  • In this paper, we designed two preprocessing adaptive filter - high pass filter and notch filter - using FPGA. For minimizing the calculation load of multi-channel and high-resolution ECG system, we utilize FPGA rather than digital signal processing chip. To implement the designed filters in FPGA, we utilize FPGA design tool(Altera corporation, MAX-PLUS II) and CSE database as test data. In order to evaluate the performance in terms of processing time, we compared the designed filters with the digital filters implemented by ADSP21061(Analog Devices). As a result, the filters implemented by FPGA showed better performance than the filters based on ADSP21061. As a consequence of examination, we conclude that FPGA is a useful solution in multi-channel and high-resolution signal processing.

  • This paper presents an evolutionary design of digital IIR filters using the genetic algorithm (GA) with modified genetic operators and real-valued encoding. Conventional digital IIR filter design methods involve algebraic transformations of the transfer function of an analog low-pass filter (LPF) that satisfies prescribed filter specifications. Other types of frequency-selective digital fillers as high-pass (HPF), band-pass (BPF), and band-stop (BSF) filters are obtained by appropriate transformations of a prototype low-pass filter. In the GA-based digital IIR filter design scheme, filter coefficients are represented as a set of real-valued genes in a chromosome. Each chromosome represents the structure and weights of an individual filter. GA directly finds the coefficients of the desired filter transfer function through genetic search fur given filter specifications of minimum filter order. Crossover and mutation operators are selected to ensure the stability of resulting IIR filters. Other types of filters can be found independently from the filter specifications, not from algebraic transformations.

  • The robot localization problem is a key problem in making truly autonomous robots. In this work we provide thorough discussions of Ultrasonic Positioning System can be applied to the localization problem. First, we look at the use of Kalman filters and basic concept and the equation involved in Kalman filters. Secondly, we create understanding of how the Kalman filters can be implemented in robot localization. We show our discussion and experiments how Kalman filters applied to the localization problem. Lastly, we perform simulations using Usat Wheel Chair robot in our own general Kalman filters robot monitoring software.

  • PWM controlled line-side converters of modern ac traction locomotives inject harmonic currents into the feeding overhead line. This causes problem of electromagnetic interference. Passive and Active filters are usually provided for a reduction of the line harmonics. Active filters are more reasonable than passive filters in terms of weight and space of the filters. Successful control of active filters requires an accurate harmonic current reference. A technique to generate the harmonic current reference is proposed in this paper. The analysis is performed in frequency domain and its effectiveness is verified by simulation.
