In this paper, electrostatic scanner mirror for optical pick-up head is designed and fabricated. The mirror size is $20{\mu}m{\times}2400{\mu}m{\times}2400{\mu}m$ and torsional beam size is $10{\mu}m{\times}20{\mu}m{\times}500{\mu}m$. Static deflection angle is calculated ${\pm}0.4$ degrees when the maximum driving voltage is 20 V. Silicon mirror was fabricated using KOH etching and deep RIE. For passivation of the patterned mirror from KOH solution, parylene thin film was used and its usefulness has been verified. Driving electrode was fabricated using UV LIGA process. Mirror and electrode were bonded.

This study deals with the optimal method of orthophoto products using the non-photogrammetric scanners. we scanned positive film of aerial photographs at the different resolution and producted the orthophoto using the automatically generated DEM based on the Digital Photogrammetric Workstation, considering aerial image resolutions, DEM interval, resampling method and outpixel size. As a results, the acquired accuracy was worse in horizontal, but good in vertical. So It will be expected that orthophoto using non-photo grammetric scanner is good enough for the acquisition of GIS data and the calculation of soil volumes.

Objectives: Patient dose verification is clinically the most important parts in the treatment delivery of radiation therapy. The three dimensional(3D) reconstruction of dose distribution delivered to target volume helps to verify patient dose and determine the physical characteristics of beams used in intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT). We present Beam Intensity Scanner(BInS) system for the pre treatment dosimetric verification of two dimensional photon intensity. The BInS is a radiation detector with a custom made software for relative dose conversion of fluorescence signals from scintillator. Methods: This scintillator is fabricated by phosphor Gadolinium Oxysulphide and is used to produce fluorescence from the irradiation of 6MV photons on a Varian Clinac 21EX. The digitized fluoroscopic signals obtained by digital video camera will be processed by our custom made software to reproduce 3D relative dose distribution. For the intensity modulated beam(IMB), the BInS calculates absorbed dose in absolute beam fluence, which are used for the patient dose distribution. Results: Using BInS, we performed various measurements related to IMRT and found the followings: (1) The 3D dose profiles of the IMBs measured by the BInS demonstrate good agreement with radiographic film, pin type ionization chamber and Monte Carlo simulation. (2) The delivered beam intensity is altered by the mechanical and dosimetric properties of the collimating of dynamic and/or static MLC system. This is mostly due to leaf transmission, leaf penumbra, scattered photons from the round edges of leaves, and geometry of leaf. (3) The delivered dose depends on the operational detail of how to make multileaf opening. Conclusions: These phenomena result in a fluence distribution that can be substantially different from the initial and calculative intensity modulation and therefore, should be taken into account by the treatment planing for accurate dose calculations delivered to the target volume in IMRT.
Ir-192 source activity for high dose rate brachytherapy is measured using Farmertype ionization chamber. The source-to-chamber distance is 10 cm and the measured charge unit is converted to activity unit. The measured values are compared to the values provided from vendor. Because of time dependency of Ir-192 source activity, the activities are regularly checked and compared to calculated values. As the accuracy of Ir-192 source activity is depend on the mechanical measurement setup, we estimated the precision of remote controlled source dwell position using home-made device and film scanner. The difference between measured and predicted dwell position is within 1 mm. As a result, the errors of source activity are 0.7${\pm}$1.5 % for measured and vendor-provided values and 0.l${\pm}$1.2% for measured and time-dependent calculated vlaues. In conclusion, our measured activity has been comparable to the values provided from vendor and our brachytherapy unit has been very accurate until now. Regular quality control of brachytherapy is essential for successful treatment which depends on the accuracy of source position and activity.

In this work, we report that crystallization speed as well as the electrical and optical properties about the N-doped $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ thin films. The 200-nm-thick N-doped $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ thin film was deposited on p-type (100) Si and glass substrate by RF reactive sputtering at room temperature. The amorphous-to-crystalline phase transformation of N-doped $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ thin films investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Changes in the optical transmittance of as-deposited and annealed films were measured using a UV-VIS-IR spectrophotometer and four-point probe was used to measure the sheet resistance of N-doped $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ thin films annealed at different temperature. In addition, the surface morphology and roughness of the films were observed by Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). The crystalline speed of amorphous N-doped $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ films were measured by using nano-pulse scanner with 658 nm laser diode (power : 1~17 mW, pulse duration: 10~460 ns). It was found that the crystalline speed of thin films are decreased by adding N and the crystalline temperature is higher. This means that N-dopant in $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ thin film plays a role to suppress amorphous-to-crystalline phase transformation.

This study aims to evaluates the image quality of CR and DR that are scanned with the use of the attachable carbon heater X-ray scanner table equipped with heating device by measuring SNR and CNR before and after the attachment of the said table. In the aluminum staircase testing, CR increased SNR and CNR when attached with the table, while DR decreased SNR and CNR. In the human-body model phantom testing, CR increased SNR and CNR only in the low-energy low-dose radiation and the high-energy high-dose radiation, but decreased SNR and CNR under all other conditions. In conclusion, the use of such table can make the patient feel comfortable by removing his or her anxiety, thus helping the testing, but in the actual clinical application thereof, if the thickness and material of the bottom film and the protective film, including the carbon heater, are not considered, it affects the picture quality, thereby requiring continuous research on the use of such table.
This paper describes automatic methods for detection of kidney and kidney tumor on abdominal CT scans. The abdominal CT images were digitalized using a film digitizer and a gray-level threshold method was used to segment the kidney. Based on texture analysis results, which were perform on sample images of kidney tumors, SEED region of kidney tumor was selected as result of homogeneity test. The average and standard deviation, which are representative statistical moments, were used to as an acceptance criteria for homogeneous test. Region growing method was used to segment the kidney tumor from the center pixel of selected SEED region using a gray-level value as an acceptance criteria for homogeneity test. These method were applied to 113 images of 9 cases, which were scanned by GE Hispeed Advantage CT scanner and digitalized by Lumisvs LS-40 film digitizer. The sensitivity was 85% and there was no false-positive results.

In the paper, we report several experimental data capable of evaluating the phase transformation characteristics of $Ag_x(Ge_2Sb_2Te_5)_{1-x}$ (x =0, 0.05, 0.1) thin films. The $Ag_x(Ge_2Sb_2Te_5)_{1-x}$ phase change thin films have been prepared by thermal evaporation. The crystallization characteristics of amorphous$Ag_x(Ge_2Sb_2Te_5)_{1-x}$ thin films were investigated by using nano-pulse scanner with 658 nm laser diode (power; 1~17 mW, pulse duration; 10~460 ns) and XRD measurement. It was found that the more Ag is doped, the more crystallization speed was 50 improved. In comparision with $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ thin film, the sheet resistance$(R_{amor})$ of the amorphous $Ag_x(Ge_2Sb_2Te_5)_{1-x}$ thin films were found to be lager than that of $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ film($R_{amor}$$\sim10^7\Omega/\square$ and $R_{cryst}$ 10 $\Omega/\square$). That is, the ratio of $R_{amor}/R_{cryst}$ was evaluates to be $\sim10^6$ This is very helpful to writing current reduction of phase-change random acess memory.
