This study is aimed to offer the elementary school teacher's experience and awareness about science field trip and science museum field trip, by analyzing the survey of 867 students and 81 teachers in Seoul. Research shows 67.9% high figure of elementary school teacher's experience on science field trip. That experience is include 61.8% of science museum using experience. In case of elementary school teacher's pre-activity is only 53.1% and most of them was visiting Website. Post-activity is more than preceding activity(74.1%) but method is too simple like checking work sheets. 62.3% of elementary school students have been to science field trip and science museum that is higher than teachers'. 66.5% of students said science field trip is influence on science study in good ways but there are some difficulties like lack of pre-activity(33.0%) and unkind information about science museum(21.9%). For activation of science field trip, resources development for effective science field trip operating, program development for pre- and post-activity, school group science field trip program development which is linked science curriculum, complement and expand activity information of science field trip institution.
In this study, a theme-centered STEAM program converged with field trip was developed in the 'The stratum and fossils' unit of elementary science. The objectives were to find the influences on academic achievement, creative problem solving abilities and scientific attitude of elementary school students. The STEAM education program was composed of content which can be applied effectively by converging field trip and STEAM elements. As the results applied the STEAM program to elementary school students, the experimental group improved effectively in the academic achievement, creative problem solving abilities and scientific attitude compared to the control group, which took the theoretical lesson. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop systematically and continuously programs converging STEAM and field trip in various units of science subject which field trip is possible.
The purpose of this study was to investigate beginning earth science teachers' perceptions about Learning in Geologic Field Trip. The hundred and sixteen high school earth science teachers who were in the training for their promotion answered the questionnaire of Learning in Geologic Field Trip. It was divided into five parts: needs and educational values, teachers' experiences and their difficulties, and desirable teaching methods of Learning in Geologic Field Trip. Results indicated that the participants perceived Learning in Geologic Field Trip important in earth science education and responded positively to the educational values of Learning in Geologic Field Trip. Most of the beginning teachers had experience of geologic field trip, but did not learn how to teach it to their students during the geologic field trip in the pre-service training program. It was shown that only a few teachers had experience of geologic field trip and of teaching students in the outdoor of geologic fields after they became a classroom teacher. Most of the participants perceived that teaching students about the geologic field trip is difficult because of lack of their experience. In order to overcome the difficulty, teachers suggested that they need to learn how to teach the geologic field trip to students through their in-service training. leachers suggested that a desirable teaching method of the geologic field trip is to provide teachers with a teacher's manual including geological explanation and information about field trip sites before their visit so that they can scaffold it and facilitate the students' cooperative group activity during the field trip. As a follow up activity, the participants agreed that the presentation and discussion about the results should concur.
Field trip education is frequently used in a primary education in Korea. However, it fails to provide specific research activities or feedback for students and lacks educational implication. We propose a mission-based field trip education using mobile phone. In this paper, we explain our design process, experiment at the zoo, and discuss the future work.
This study is aimed at suggesting ways to develop field trip or learning materials focusing on environment of Jeju seashore in order to make an effective field trip. To perform these purposes, the contents and concepts were analyzed from environment-related 'geological unit' of elementary science textbook. Afterwards, the places having the geological features in coincidence with them are chosen, and investigated, and these regions can develop into geological teaming places for field trip. Each teaming spot focuses on understanding and finding out the characteristic geological environment of rock shore, gravel shore, sand shore, shellfish shore, and tideland shore among Jeju shores. When field trip is conducted at the preparatory stage, students can get advance knowledge on geological concepts from textbook. The activity record paper is presented at the field trip stage where students observe geological phenomena on their own. After field trip is finished, the summary stage is given to solve some problems on the basis of the observed contents. The developed data from this research have its regional limits, but is surely useful for teachers who try to plan field trip when they especially choose the right field trip spots, or plan to make the process for field trip preparation of the environmental education. Furthermore, with this survey and activities, students can take the chance to improve the learning effect through their own experience on environment of Jeju seashore.

The field is a good learning environment that offers many opportunities. Status of conducting field trip in the middle and high school was investigated As a result, there was few teachers who disagree that a course in science should include learning in the field. Yet, on practical side, teachers who used to conduct the field trip over once a year in science class appeared to be about 23% only. Most of schools conducting field trips hadn't well-planned program for instructional activities. Many of teachers appealed that they should not get release time for conducting an extended field experiences, and that they could not obtained good information in relation to the contents, the methods and strategies of field activities. It says that a good field trip needs administrative and financial surport, many informations, and the teacher's exertion.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the change of students' conceptual structures about sedimentary rocks through the field trip. A semantic network analysis method was utilized to assess the change. An open-ended questionnaire was developed to assess high school students' knowledge of sedimentary rock including its definition, classification, formation process, and characteristics. Fifteen high school students participated in the field trip of this study. The text data were analyzed using the semantic network analysis method. Results are as follows. First, high school students' conceptual structures about sedimentary rocks were more expanded after the field trip. Second, students' conceptual structures formed a 'small world network' by combining the sub-clusters. Third, the size of students' conceptual structures was decreased after a few month of field trip. Nonetheless, the connection among the clusters remained the same.
The purpose of this study is to investigate pre-service middle school earth science teachers' perceptions about the learning of geological field trip. The study sample consists of 39 undergraduate students at the university located in a metropolitan city. Additionally, 4 pre-service earth science teachers are semi-structure interviewed. The instrument of the study includes a 5-category perception about the learning of geological field trip, which consists of needs, educational values, educational experience, teaching methods, and training for learning. The results are as follows. First, participants are important to the need and educational values of learning about the geological field trip regardless of gender and grade level. Second, all participants have experienced geological field trip in college. They have more opportunities to experiment for field trip as they advance to higher grade. There is significant difference between lower and higher graders in terms of the goal of learning about geological field trip. It needs a new lesson model to teach geology between men and women regarding teaching methods category. In order to practice geological field trip in school, participants perceive that they need the knowledge of geological context, experiment of field trips, and how to teach geological field trip to students. This study suggests that pre-service earth science teachers' perceptions include how to teach and learn geological field trip during their college year.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational effects and the improvements of the 'Science Field Trips' Program which developed with the aim of fostering the prospective elementary school teachers' ability to manage science field trips. The participants were 13 senior students from a national university of education. The results of the study are as follows: First, with regard to the effectiveness in the science instruction aspect of the prospective teachers' geological field trip as an experiential activity, the responses of the participants were children's 'scientific knowledge'(69.2%), 'science related attitudes'(46.2%), and 'science inquiry'(30.8%). Second, regarding the effectiveness of the geological field trip in their management of science field trips aspects in the future, the responses of the participants were 'teaching strategies'(92.3%), 'plan implementation'(76.9%), 'teacher's science knowledge'(61.5%), 'self-confidence'(38.5%), 'enhancement of awareness of field trips'(23.1%), and 'career guidance'(7.7%). Third, with regard to the effectiveness in the science instruction aspect of their activities of planning a science field trip in their future working districts, the responses of the participants were children's 'science knowledge'(38.5%), 'science-related attitudes'(38.5%), and 'science inquiry'(23.1%). Fourth, regarding the effectiveness in their management of science field trips aspects of the activities of planning a science field trip, the responses of the participants were 'plan implementation'(92.3%), 'the identification of science field trip sites'(84.6%), 'teaching strategies'(76.9%), 'administrative affairs'(69.2%), 'teacher's science knowledge'(30.8%), 'enhancement of awareness of field trips'(23.1%), 'career guidance'(15.4%), and 'self-confidence' (15.4%). The improvements plans of the program and the suggestions for future research is also described in this study.

The coast of BiIn Bay, Seocheon, is the potential site for the field-trip learning program. This article is written in the viewpoint of geographical and environmental education. In this study, it is tried to describe geomorphological landscapes of BiIn Bay Seocheon-gun relating with it's physiognomy, based on the Dasa-ri and Songrim-ri coastal sanddunes and the like. Although landforms like tidal flats and rock cliff constitute prominent landscape features in this area, other features such as beaches, coastal dunes, and coastal plains have various ramifications for human communities. Tidal flats, beaches and coastal dunes are formed by the combined actions of longshore current, tidal flows, waves and winds. To some extent, the erosion of sandy coast has been a global phenomenon. Anthropogenic impacts are involved in the transformation of landform. Most favorable field-trip course of BiIn Bay is from Songrim-ri through Dasa-ri and Shinhap-ri to Maryang-ri. This program about coastal landforms in BiIn Bay will contribute not only for educational meanings but also for satisfying the student' curiosity and interest. Also, this field-trip learning program will be suitable for over 4th grade elementary school students and middle school students.
