  • The short-range communication module was developed in this paper which is suitable for the point-to-multipoint circumstances of 40 terminals communicating frequently in about 50 meters. The media access control layer of this communication module using asynchronous time-division multiplexing provides a fast and robust performance even in the worst case of simultaneous transmission events, and low packet error rate was measured a in LOS (Line-of-sight) circumstance by adding the function of acknowledge response to media access control layer. The difference test was carried out in order to measure the performance of point-to-multipoint communication. Two communication modules are respectively measured and graphed in 10 branches to 40 branches. The communication module developed in this paper showed a faster performance than the commercial Zigbee module in the specific case presented in this paper. Especially, in over 20 branches showed wide differences of the transmission speed. This results is caused by more network overhead of Zigbee whose wider applications needs the network layer and applicaiton layer besides media access control layer. Also, the asynchronous time-division multiplexing proposed in this paper are more suitable than CSMA-CA of Zigbee module when a lot of module ought to be frequently communicated in small area.

  • To support the telematics and infotainment services, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication requires a robust and reliable network. To do this, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has recently developed V2X communication. For reliable communication, accurate channel estimation should be done. However, because vehicle speed is very fast, radio channel is rapidly changed with time. Therefore, it is difficult to accurately estimate the channel. In this paper, we propose the new linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) channel interpolation scheme based on the Long Term Evolution (LTE) sidelink system in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) environments. In our proposed reduced decision error (RDE) channel estimation scheme, LMMSE channel estimation is applied in the pilot symbol, and then in the data symbol, smoothing and LMMSE channel interpolation scheme is applied. After that, time and frequency domain averaging are applied to obtain the whole channel frequency response. In addition, the LMMSE equalizer of the receiver side can reduce the error propagation due to the decision error. Therefore, it is possible to detect the reliable data. Analysis and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms currently conventional schemes in normalized mean square error (NMSE) and bit error rate (BER).

  • Purpose: Conventional image reconstruction uses simplified physical models of projection. However, real physics, for example 3D reconstruction, takes too long time to process all the data in clinic and is unable in a common reconstruction machine because of the large memory for complex physical models. We suggest the realistic distributed memory model of fast-reconstruction using parallel processing on personal computers to enable large-scale technologies. Materials and Methods: The preliminary tests for the possibility on virtual manchines and various performance test on commercial super computer, Tachyon were performed. Expectation maximization algorithm with common 2D projection and realistic 3D line of response were tested. Since the process time was getting slower (max 6 times) after a certain iteration, optimization for compiler was performed to maximize the efficiency of parallelization. Results: Parallel processing of a program on multiple computers was available on Linux with MPICH and NFS. We verified that differences between parallel processed image and single processed image at the same iterations were under the significant digits of floating point number, about 6 bit. Double processors showed good efficiency (1.96 times) of parallel computing. Delay phenomenon was solved by vectorization method using SSE. Conclusion: Through the study, realistic parallel computing system in clinic was established to be able to reconstruct by plenty of memory using the realistic physical models which was impossible to simplify.

  • Predictive growth model of putrefactive bacteria of surimi-based imitation crab in the modified surimi-based imitation crab (MIC) broth was investigated. The growth curves of putrefactive bacteria were obtained by measuring cell number in MIC broth under different conditions (Initial cell number, $1.0{\times}10^2,\;1.0{\times}10^3$ and $1.0{\times}10^4$ colony forming unit (CFU)/mL; temperature, $15^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C\;and\;25^{\circ}C$) and applied them to Gompertz model. The microbial growth indicators, maximum specific growth rate constant (k), lag time (LT) and generation time (GT), were calculated from Gompertz model. Maximum specific growth rate (k) of putrefactive bacteria was become fast with rising temperature and fastest at $25^{\circ}C$. LT and GT were become short with rising temperature and shortest at $25^{\circ}C$. There were not significant differences in k, LT and GT by initial cell number (p>0.05). Polynomial model, $k=-0.2160+0.0241T-0.0199A_0$, and square root model, $\sqrt{k}=0.02669$ (T-3.5689), were developed to express the combination effects of temperature and initial cell number, The relative coefficient of experimental k and predicted k of polynomial model was 0.87 from response surface model. The relative coefficient of experimental k and predicted k of square root model was 0.88. From above results, we found that the growth of putrefactive bacteria was mainly affected by temperature and the square root model was more credible than the polynomial model for the prediction of the growth of putrefactive bacteria.

  • Layered-earth Green's functions in electormagnetic (EM) surveys play a key role in modeling the response of exploration targets. They are computed through the Hankel transforms of analytic kernels. Computational precision depends upon the choice of algebraically equivalent forms by which these kemels are expressed. Since three-dimensional (3D) modeling can require a huge number of Green's function evaluations, total computational time can be influenced by computational time for the Hankel transform evaluations. Linear digital filters have proven to be a fast and accurate method of computing these Hankel transforms. In EM modeling for 3D inversion, electric fields are generally evaluated by the secondary field formulation to avoid the singularity problem. In this study, three components of electric fields for five different sources on the surface of homogeneous half-space were derived as primary field solutions. Moreover, reflection coefficients in TE and TM modes were produced to calculate EM responses accurately for a two-layered model having a sea layer. Accurate primary fields should substantially improve accuracy and decrease computation times for Green's function-based problems like MT problems and marine EM surveys.

  • This paper presents to study the accuracy improvement of the laser navigation using FIS(fuzzy inference system) and the reliability. As wireless guidance system, the top-mounted laser with the laser navigation can rotate $360^{\circ}$ with phototransistor or other optical sensors that read the return signal from reflectors mounted at the perimeter of the workspace. The type of major existing guidance systems is a wire guidance system. Because they have high accuracy and fast response time, they are used to most industries. However, their installation cost is very expensive and maintenance is very difficult because their sensors are placed approximately 1 inch below the ground or embedded in the floor. To solve those problems, the laser navigation was developed as a wire guidance system. It does not need to reconstruct a floor or ground. And it can reduce costs of installation and maintenance because changing the layout is easy. However, it is difficult to apply to an industrial field because it is easily affected by disturbances which cause loss and damage of data, and has slow respond time. Therefore, we study the accuracy improvement of the laser navigation. The proposed method is a correction method using reliability of the laser navigation. here, reliability is calculated by FIS which is designed with the analyzed characteristics of the laser navigation. For performance comparison, we use original position data form the laser navigation and position data corrected by original reliability from the laser navigation. In experimental result, we verified that the performance of the proposed method compared the others is improved by about 50% or more.

  • The Korean Culture Contents spread out to Worldwide, because the Korean wave is sweeping in the world. The contents stand in the middle of the Korean wave that we are used it. Each country is ongoing to keep their Culture industry improve the national brand and High added value. Performing contents is important factor of arousal in the enterprise industry. To improve high arousal confidence of product and positive attitude by populace is one of important factor by advertiser. Culture contents is the same situation. If culture contents have trusted by everyone, they will give information their around to spread word-of-mouth. So, many researcher study to measure for person's arousal analysis by statistical survey, physiological response, body movement and facial expression. First, Statistical survey has a problem that it is not possible to measure each person's arousal real time and we cannot get good survey result after they watched contents. Second, physiological response should be checked with surround because experimenter sets sensors up their chair or space by each of them. Additionally it is difficult to handle provided amount of information with real time from their sensor. Third, body movement is easy to get their movement from camera but it difficult to set up experimental condition, to measure their body language and to get the meaning. Lastly, many researcher study facial expression. They measures facial expression, eye tracking and face posed. Most of previous studies about arousal and interest are mostly limited to reaction of just one person and they have problems with application multi audiences. They have a particular method, for example they need room light surround, but set limits only one person and special environment condition in the laboratory. Also, we need to measure arousal in the contents, but is difficult to define also it is not easy to collect reaction by audiences immediately. Many audience in the theater watch performance. We suggest the system to measure multi-audience's reaction with real-time during performance. We use difference image analysis method for multi-audience but it weaks a dark field. To overcome dark environment during recoding IR camera can get the photo from dark area. In addition we present Multi-Audience Engagement Index (MAEI) to calculate algorithm which sources from sound, audience' movement and eye tracking value. Algorithm calculates audience arousal from the mobile survey, sound value, audience' reaction and audience eye's tracking. It improves accuracy of Multi-Audience Engagement Index, we compare Multi-Audience Engagement Index with mobile survey. And then it send the result to reporting system and proposal an interested persons. Mobile surveys are easy, fast, and visitors' discomfort can be minimized. Also additional information can be provided mobile advantage. Mobile application to communicate with the database, real-time information on visitors' attitudes focused on the content stored. Database can provide different survey every time based on provided information. The example shown in the survey are as follows: Impressive scene, Satisfied, Touched, Interested, Didn't pay attention and so on. The suggested system is combine as 3 parts. The system consist of three parts, External Device, Server and Internal Device. External Device can record multi-Audience in the dark field with IR camera and sound signal. Also we use survey with mobile application and send the data to ERD Server DB. The Server part's contain contents' data, such as each scene's weights value, group audience weights index, camera control program, algorithm and calculate Multi-Audience Engagement Index. Internal Device presents Multi-Audience Engagement Index with Web UI, print and display field monitor. Our system is test-operated by the Mogencelab in the DMC display exhibition hall which is located in the Sangam Dong, Mapo Gu, Seoul. We have still gotten from visitor daily. If we find this system audience arousal factor with this will be very useful to create contents.

  • In the conduct of this study, a web-enabled healthcare system for the management of hypertension was implemented through a hyperlink-based inference approach. The hyperlink-based inference platform was implemented using the hypertext capacity of HTML which ensured accessibility, multimedia facilities, fast response, stability, ease of use and upgrade, and platform independency of expert systems. Many HTML documents, which are hyperlinked to each other based on expert rules, were uploaded beforehand to perform the hyperlink-based inference. The HTML documents were uploaded and maintained automatically by our proprietary tool called the Web-Based Inference System (WeBIS) that supports a graphical user interface (GUI) for the input and edit of decision graphs. Nevertheless, the editing task of the decision graph using the GUI tool is a time consuming and tedious chore when the knowledge engineer must perform it manually. Accordingly, this research implemented an automatic generator of the decision graph for the management of hypertension. As a result, this research suggests a methodology for the development of Web-enabled healthcare systems using the hyperlink-based inference approach and, as an example, implements a Web-enabled healthcare system for hypertension, a platform which performed especially well in the areas of speed and stability.

  • Purpose : Noninvasive imaging of tumor cell proliferation could be helpful in the evaluation of tumor growth potential and could provide an early assessment of treatment response. Radiolabeled thymidine, uridine and adenosine have been used to evaluate tumor cell proliferation. These nucleoside analogs are incorporated into DNA during proliferation. Iodine-131-Iodomethyluridine, an analog of Iodine-131-Iododeoxyuridine, is also involved in DNA/RNA synthesis. The purpose of this study was to develop Iodine-131-Iodomethylurdine and image tumor proliferation using Iodine-131-Iodomethyluridine. Materials and Methods : Radiosynthesis of Iodine-131-5-Iodo-2'-O-methyluridine (Iodine-131-Iodomethyluridine) was prepared from 10 mg of 2'-O-methyluridine(Sigma chemical Co., St. Louis, Missouri) and 2.1 mCi(SP. 10Ci/mg) of Iodine-131-labeled sodium iodide in $100{\mu}l$ of water using iodogen reaction. Female Fischer 344 rats were inoculated in the thigh area with breast tumor cells(13765 NF, $10^5$ cells/rat S.C.). After 14 days, the Iodine-131-Iodomethyluridine $10{\mu}Ci$ was injected to three groups of rats(3/group). The percent of injected dose per gram of tissue weight was determined at 0.5-hours, 2-hours, 4-hours, and 24-hours respectively. Tumor bearing rats after receiving Iodine-131-Iodomethyluridine($50{\mu}Ci$ IV) were euthanized at 2 hours after injection. Autoradiography was done using freeze-dried $50{\mu}m$ coronal section. After injection of Iodine-131- Iodomethyluridine ($10{\mu}Ci$/rat, IV) in three breast tumor-bearing rats, planar scintigraphy was taken at 45 minutes, 90 minutes and 24 hours. Results : Iodine-131-Iodomethyluridine was conveniently synthesized using iodogen reaction. The biodistribution showed fast blood clearance and the tumor-to-tissue uptake ratios showed that optimal imaging time was at 2 hours postinjection. Autoradiogram and planar scintigram indicated that tumor could be well visualized. Conclusion : The findings suggest that Iodine-131-Iodomethyluridine, a new radio-iodinated nucleoside, has potential use for evaluation of active regions of tumor growth.

  • There are increasing evidences of climate change in the Antarctic and Arctic Oceans, especially elevated temperature due to the continuous burning of the fossil fuels and ultraviolet B(UV-B) flux within the ozone hole. Light-dependent, temperature-sensitive, and fast-growing organisms respond to these physical and biogeochemical changes. Polar marine phytoplankton, which are pioneer endemic species and important carbon contributors in the polar waters, are therefore highly suitable biological indicators of such changes. By virtue of light requirement, the primary producers are exposed to extreme seasonal fluctuations in temperature, photosynthetically active radiation, and UV radiation. Local environmental warming and increased UV-B radiation during ozone depletion may have profound effects on the primary producers that are primary carbon producers in the polar water. Small changes in climate temperature and solar radiation may have profound effects on the activity threshold of the polar phytoplanktion. To demonstrate biological response to the environmental changes, standardized representative natural and biological parameters are needed so that replicate samples (including controls) can be taken over extended periods of time. In this paper, we review general characteristics of polar phytoplankton, their environment, environmental changes in the polar waters, the effects on the environmental changes to the polar phytoplankton, and the importance of the polar phytoplankton to understand the global environmental changes. [Biological indicators, Global environmental change, Polar phytoplankton, UV].
