투영벡터의 통계적성질을 이용한 영상 검색 (Image Retrieval using Statistical Property of Projection Vector)

  • 영상의 특징을 나타내는 방법의 하나인 투영은 영상의 근사화된 형상 및 위치 정보 등의 많은 유용한 정보를 포함하고 있다. 그러나 투영을 영상 검색을 위한 방법으로 사용할 경우, 사용되는 색인 데이터 량이 많고, 에디터 베이스의 영상 크기에 따라 토영된 벡터의 길이가 달라진다는 단점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 투영기법이 안고 있는 이러한 문제점을 극복하는 방법으로 데이터베이스 영상을 투영한 후 투영 벡터의 국부화를 통하여 영상의 지역적 특성이 반영되도록 하였으며, 색인 데이터 량을 주리기 위하여 투영된 벡터의 분산 값을 색인 데이터로 활용하였다. 제안된 방법은 검색 시 투영 기법의 장점을 수용함과 동시에 영상의 통계적 특성을 활용할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 시스템 구현 시 질의 시간 내에 응답을 얻을 수 있다는 이점이 있다.

ZnS:Cu,Cl 형광체를 사용한 powder형 AC Electroluminescence의 전기적 광학적 특성 (Electrical and Optical Characteristics of AC P-ELD using ZnS:Cu,Cl)

  • In this paper, we studied the matrix type Powder AC Electroluminescence using ZnS:Cu,Cl Phosphor. Previously, Powder AC EL was used in Backlighting of LCD. Rescently, organic Thin Film EL was rapidly developed because of high Luminescence and low applied voltage. But Powder AC EL has Superior features that include sheet like flexibility thickness, low weight, self-emission, a wide viewing angle and a fast response time. We tried to change of phosphor thickness and binder mixture rate in order to obtain the good condition of powder AC EL and we obtained the very low breakdown voltage that was just 15V. Till now, we measured the current-voltage(V-I), luminance-voltage(V-L), Luminance-current (L-I), color coordinate (CIE), and phosphor Intensity of variable thickness. In experiment result, the devices has the luminance of 840 cd/$m^2$ and improved color coordinate, x=0.1557, y=0.2145, using a 10kHz drive frequency.

Fringe-Field 구동형 반사형 Hybrid Aligned Nematic 액정 디스플레이의 전기-광학 특성 (Electro-Optic Characteristics of the Fringe-Field driven Reflective Hybrid Aligned Nematic Liquid Crystal Display)

  • We have performed computer simulation and experiment to obtain electro-optic characteristics of reflective hybrid aligned nematic (R-HAN) cell driven by fringe field, in which the cell consists of polarizer, optical compensation film, LC layer and reflector. Conventional R-HAN cell driven by fringe field using only the LC layer shows high wavelength dispersion at dark-state and thus viewing angle characteristic is strongly wavelength-dependent. In order to improve this demerit, we added one optical compensation film to conventional R-HAN cell. The display with optimized cell parameters shows low wavelength dispersion at dark-state and exhibits a wide viewing angle without the occurrence of grey scale inversion over a wide range of viewing angles and the contrast ratio greater than 5 over exists about 120$^{\circ}$ in vortical direction and 160$^{\circ}$in horizontal direction. Experimental results show good agreements with theoretical results and fast response time.

  • A PVC-based membrane electrode for thallium(I) ions based on 1,21,23,25-tetramethyl-2,20: 3,19-dimetheno-[H, 2] H, 23H, 25H-bis-[1,3] dioxocino[5,4-i:5',4'-i] benzo [1,2-d: 5.4-d'] bis [1,3] benzodioxocin(II) has been prepared. The electrode displays a linear dynamic range of $1.0{\times}10^{-1}-1.0{\times}10^{-5}$ M, with a Nernstian slope of $59.8{\pm}0.2\;mV\;{decad^-1}$, and a detection limit $5.0{\times}10^{-6}$ M. It has a very fast response time of<10 s and can be used for at least ten weeks without a considerable divergence in potentials. This electrode revealed comparatively good selectivity with respect to alkali, alkaline earth, and some transition and heavy metal ions and was effective in a pH range of 2.0-10.0. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of thallium ion with sulfide ion.

A Simple Timeout Algorithm for Point-to-Multipoint ABR Service

  • The ABR point-to-multipoint connection is now playing a more important role than before. Many consolidation algorithms have been proposed to solve the consolidation noise problem and the slow transient response problem. But few timeout algorithms are proposed to handle the non-responsive branches for the multicast connections. Chen’s algorithm needs exchanging control messages between switches [9]. Besides, it may mistake a responsive branch as a non-responsive branch because of fast changes in source rates, which causes wrong information in BRM cells and may lead to network congestion and data losses in the responsive branch. We propose a simple timeout algorithm which can handle the non-responsive branches without exchanging message between switches. The timeout value for each switch is computed locally. Simulation results show that the proposed timeout algorithm can efficiently handle the non-responsive branches and utilize the available bandwidth within a small period of time. In addition, our algorithm could handle the situation when the source rates change quickly.

  • 본 논문에서는 자기 소호 능력을 가지고 있는 전력용 반도체 소자로 구성된 3상 PWM Boost 컨버터를 이용하여 기존의 정류기에서 나타나는 문제점들을 해결하고, 입력 전류와 역률을 개선하기 위한 전류제어 기법을 제시한다. 이 컨버터의 전류제어는 부하에 관계없이 항상 일정한 스위칭 주파수로 동작되는 예측 전류제어 기법을 적용하고 있으며, 선전류는 한 샘플링 시간 구간내에서 기준 전류를 추종하게 된다. 이 제어 기법을 사용하므로서 입력 전류의 파형이 거의 정현파에 가까워져 역률도 거의 1로되고, 작은 DC링크 캐패시터를 적용함에도 불구하고 출력 전류와 전압의 리플이 적으며, 다이나믹 응답 특성도 매우 양호하게 나타난다.

압전형 에너지 수확장치를 위한 통합 해석환경의 적용 및 검증 (Application and Verification of Fully-Integrated Design Environment for Piezoelectric Energy Harvester)

  • Vibrational energy harvester based on piezoelectricity has been expected to be the dominant energy harvesting technology due to the advantages of high conversion efficiency, light weight and small size, night operation, etc. Its commercialization is just around the corner but the integration with power management electronics should be solved in advance. In this paper, therefore, fully-integrated design environment for piezoelectric energy harvesting systems is presented to assist co-design with the power management electronics. The proposed design environment is capable of analyzing the energy harvester including the package-induced damping effects and simulating the device and its power management electronics simultaneously. When the developed design environment was applied to the fabricated device, the simulated resonant frequency matched well with the experimental result with a difference of 2.97% only. Also, the complex transient response was completed in short simulation time of 3,001 seconds including the displacement distribution over the device geometry. Furthermore, a full-bridge power management circuit was modeled and simulated with the energy harvester simultaneously. Therefore the proposed, fully-integrated design environment is accurate and fast enough for the contribution on successful commercialization of piezoelectric energy harvester.

AMESim기반 피에조 인젝터용 해석모델의 민감도 특성 해석 (Analysis of Sensitivity Characteristics with AMESim Model for Piezo Injector)

  • Performance of DI diesel engine with high fuel injection method is directly related to the emission characteristics and fuel consumption. At present, diesel injection system with piezo element is replacing conventional solenoid type due to their faster electro-mechanical properties. In this study, it was investigated the sensitivity characteristics regarding internal hydraulic modeling based on the AMESim environment of piezo-driven injector The analytic parameter for this study defined such as In/Out orifice, injection hole's diameter and driven voltage on piezo stack. As the results, it was shown that these parameter influence on a fast response characteristics of piezo-driven injector. Also we found fuel pressure recovery time is faster about 0.1 ms due to larger IN orifice diameter. And larger OUT orifice diameter occurs maximum pressure drop with faster its timing of about 0.2 ms.

  • In this paper, hysteresis voltage control method is proposed to an unidirectional inverter control for piezoelectric load. Piezoelectric load has electrically RC characteristic, and is driven by the inverter to control the output voltage waveform. When controling the output waveform by PI control, appropriate gains need to be selected. However, hysteresis control may minimize the output distortion because it has maximum proportional gain. In addition, Hysteresis control algorithm has simple structure to realize and the response is fast. Although the switching frequency of the inverter by hysteresis control varies, the switching frequency for the piezoelectric load is lower than that by PI control for equivalent performance. In particular, on implementing the algorithm using FPGA, the algorithm can be implemented in fewer pabrics and the processing time can be reduced. The superiority of the proposed hysteresis voltage control was proved for piezoelectric load through simulation and experiment.

  • OLED has many advantages of low voltage operation, self radiation, light weight, thin thickness, wide view angle and fast response time to overcome existing liquid crystal display (LCD)'s weakness. Therefore, It draws attention as promising display and has already developed for manufactured goods. Also, OLED is regarded as a only substitute of flexible display with a thin display. However, Indium tin oxide(ITO) thin film for electrode of OLED shows a low electrical properties and is impossible to deposit at high thermal condition because electrical characteristics of ITO is getting worse. One of the ways to realize an improved flexible OLED is to use high internal efficiency electrodes, which have higher work function than those single layer of ITO films of the same thickness. The high internal efficiency electrodes film is developed with structure of nickel oxide for bottom Emission Type of OLED.
