  • Recently the diffusion of the advancement of mobile communication technique and mobile terminal increased, The users were demanded seamless services when carrying and moving. It proposed the FMIPv6 (Fast Handoff for Mobile IPv6) from the IETF like this meeting this requirement. The handover procedure of the FMIPv6 causes to defecate with movement detection, new CoA configuration and binding update. But, the delay occurs from each process, when the DAD(Duplicate Address Detection) of the CoA executing, the big delay occurs. This paper proposes a scheme of delay reduction, it omits DAD process and stores in the AR(Access Router) relates in the CoA of the mobile terminal information.

  • Defect-free transfer service on the Next-generation wireless network extensive roaming mobile node (MN) to provide efficient mobility management has become very important. MIPv6(Mobility IPv6) is one of mobility management scheme proposed by IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force), and IPv6-based mobility management techniques have been developed in various forms. One of each management techniques, IPv6-based mobility management techniques for PMIPv6 (MIPv6) system to improve the performance of a variety of F-PMIPv6 (Fast Handover for Proxy MIPv6) is proposed. However, the F-PMIPv6 is cannot be excellent than PMIPv6 in all scenarios. Therefor, to select a proper mobility management scheme between PMIPv6 and F-PMIPv6 becomes an interesting issue, for its potenrials in enhancing the capacity and scalability of the system. In this paper, we develop an analytical model to analyze the applicability of PMIPv6 and F-PMIPv6. Based on this model, we design an Secure Smart Mobility Support(SSM) scheme that selects the better alternative between PMIPv6 and F-PMIPv6 for a user according to its changing mobility and service characteristics. When F-PMIPv6 is adopted, SSM chooses the best mobility anchor point and regional size to optimize the system performance. Numerical results illustrate the impact of some key parameters on the applicability of PMIPv6 and F-PMIPv6. Finally, SSM has proven even better result than PMIPv6 and F-PMIPv6.

  • The burgeoning growth of real-time applications, such as interactive video and VoIP, places a heavy demand for a high data rate and guarantee of QoS from a network. This is being addressed by fourth generation networks such as Long-Term Evolution (LTE). But, the mobility of user equipment that needs to be handed over to a new evolved node base-station (eNB) while maintaining connectivity with high data rates poses a significant challenge that needs to be addressed. Handover (HO) normally takes place at cell borders, which normally suffers high interference. This inter-cell interference (ICI) can affect HO procedures, as well as reduce throughput. In this paper, soft frequency reuse (SFR) and multiple preparations (MP), so-called SFRAMP, are proposed to provide a seamless and fast handover with high throughput by keeping the ICI low. Simulation results using LTE-Sim show that the outage probability and delay are reduced by 24.4% and 11.9%, respectively, over the hard handover method - quite a significant result.

  • Unlike host-based IPv6 mobility support protocols such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6), and Fast handover for Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6), Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is expected to accelerate the real deployment of IPv6 mobility support protocol by using only collaborative operations between the network entities without mobile node (MN) being involved. In this paper, we analyze and compare the handover latency of network-based IPv6 mobility support protocol (i.e., PMIPv6) with the representative host-based IPv6 mobility support protocols such as MIPv6, HMIPv6, and FMIPv6. Analytical results show that the handover latency of PMIPv6 is considerably lower than those of MIPv6 and HMIPv6, and the handover latency of PMIPv6 becomes lower than that of FMIPv6 in case the wireless link delay is greater than the delay between mobile access gateway (MAG) and local mobility anchor (LMA).

  • With the increase in a number of access technologies and data rates, a continuous connection among different networks is demand of the future wireless networks. In the last decade, user connectivity among different access networks remained a challenging job. Therefore, in this article, we proposed a user-centric and user-perspective based network selection mechanism for fast handover management in heterogeneous wireless networks. The proposed scheme selects the most appropriate network among available networks on the basis of resources i.e. cost, data rate, and link quality. Initially, we load the Media Independent Information Service (MIIS) with the information of cost and data rate provided by different network operators. Similarly, Mobile Node (MN) is also loaded with the user preferred cost and data rate for different applications. The MN obtains the information of cost and data rate from MIIS server upon a predefined threshold, and make a decision for handover according to its current cost and data rate. Furthermore, we employ an optimal threshold mechanism for initiation of the handover execution phase to minimize false handover indications. The proposed scheme is based on a survey for network selection and its implementation in C programming language to validate its performance and accuracy. The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme performs superior then the schemes present in the current literature.

  • With the rapid development of heterogeneous emerging wireless technologies and numerous types of mobile devices, the need to support robust mobile video streaming based on the seamless handover in Future Internet is growing. To support the seamless handover, several IP-based mobility management protocols such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), fast handover for the MIPv6 (FMIPv6), Hierarchical MIPv6 (HMIPv6) and Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) were developed. However, MIPv6 depreciates the Quality-of-Service (QoS) and FMIPv6 is not robust for the video services in heterogeneous emerging wireless networks when the Mobile Node (MN) may move to another visited network in contrast with its anticipation. In Future Internet, the possibility of mobile video service failure is more increased because mobile users consisting of multiple wireless network interfaces (WNICs) can frequently change the access networks according to their mobility in heterogeneous wireless access networks such as 3Generation (3G), Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi), Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMax) and Bluetooth co-existed. And in this environment, seamless mobility is coupled according to user preferences, enabling mobile users to be "Always Best Connected" (ABC) so that Quality of Experience is optimised and maintained. Even though HMIPv6 and PMIPv6 are proposed for the location management, handover latency enhancement, they still have limit of local mobility region. In this paper, we propose a robust mobile video streaming in Heterogeneous Emerging Wireless Systems. In the proposed scheme, the MN selects the best-according to an appropriate metric-wireless technology for a robust video streaming service among all wireless technologies by reducing the handover latency and initiation time when handover may fail. Through performance evaluation, we show that our scheme provides more robust mechanism than other schemes.

  • Wireless ATM is the next-generation technology which can provide broadband services for mobile multimedia terminals. Proposed in this paper is a method of enabling fast handover by forming one cell group with the cell having the mobile terminal (MT) at present and six adjacent cells and storing information on COS which is to perform re-routing between new cell to which MT is moved when handover occurs and adjacent cells to which the MT can be handed over in new cells in advance. And the order of data cells is guaranteed by using the in-band marking cell during handover. Also the handover delay is analyzed and compared to the conventional handover method without COS reservation.

  • Currently, IEEE 802.11 Network could not support optimized tunneling scheme and buffering scheme based on movement detection to reduce multimedia data packet loss when an MN move from current subnet to new subnet during handover. It is because IEEE 802.11 did not transfer information of movement detection to AP. In this paper, we proposed new fast handover scheme by using advanced access point and optimized snoop protocol for network based Proxy Mobile IPv6 in IEEE 802.11 Networks. During handover, the proposed scheme reduces both the multimedia data packet loss rate and the packet reordering problems without changing MN's mobility stack in IEEE 802.11 Networks.

  • DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting for Handhold) is a new standard, currently being developed for a portable digital broadcasting, which enhance the multimedia broadcasting service in the Euroapean standard DVB-T (DVB-Terrestrial). Seamless mobility and power saving are essential requirements in the DVB-H system. To support seamless mobility, DVB-H system should provides seamless handover for mobile stations in the MFN (multi frequency network). For seamless handover, the receiver should monitor neighboring cells and it increases the power consumption. And so, power efficient sell searching algorithm for seamless handover is required. In this paper, we propose hypothesis feeling based handover algorithm to enhance the power efficiency by using the fast cell searching, and analyze the performance of handover schemes through the numerical evaluation and simulation.
