A Study on the Salesperson Services and Repeat Purchase Intention by Price Perception of Fashion Stores (가격지각에 따른 패션점포 판매원 서비스와 재구매의도에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study are to examine consumer's perception about salesperson services of fashion stores, and how salesperson services influence on consumer's satisfaction, repeat purchase intention by price perception. The data was obtained from a survey of 420 fashion product consumers in their 20's living in Gwangju city in 2006. It was analyzed by factor analyses, reliability, frequency, T-test, regression. The results of the survey were: 1) Salesperson service dimensions perceived by fashion product consumers were 4 dimensions: Customer service orientation,. Relationship orientation, Reliability & sales ability, Salesperson's appearance. 2) Salesperson services influenced on satisfaction of high price perception group and low price perception group. 3) Satisfaction and salesperson service importance influenced on repeat purchase intention of high price perception group and low price perception group. 4) The difference of salesperson services perceptions by store types were examined. The findings of this study are expected to help fashion stores make successful relationship strategy according to price strategy and keep the relationship with their customers for a long time in fashion retail setting.

A Study on Consumption Behaviors in Accordance with the Acceleration of Fashion Cycle (패션사이클 가속화에 따른 의류소비 행태 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the differences in clothing consumption behaviors among female consumer groups in their twenties and to understand the type of consumer group pursuing fast fashion. Questionnaire survey was conducted to 230 female consumers residing in Seoul and Kyung Gi area from June 18 to 29 in 2007, and 178 were used for data analysis. Data analysis were conducted with SPSS 12 program on the reliability test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test. Factors analyses were employed for the attitude toward fashion and shopping, and shopping motives. Four factors were formulated for the attitude toward fashion: interest in fashion, fashion-orientation, fashion leadership and fashion conformity. Six factors for the attitude toward shopping were found: information searching, shopping enjoyment, store patronage, impulse buying, brand-orientation and convenience. Buying motives for fashion goods were classified into 3 factors: for matching & occasion, to-be-in-fashion and for necessity. Four clusters were identified based on the attitude toward fashion: the fashion-interested, the fashion-indifferent, fashion leaders and the individuality-oriented. Among the groups, significant differences were found in information searching, shopping enjoyment and store patronage. Fashion leaders tended to spend more for expensive and up-to-dated fashion items, and for higher quantity than other groups. Consequently fashion leaders showed attractive customer characteristics for the fast fashion companies.

A Study on the Shopping Orientation and the Importance of Store Attributes of Luxury Brand Consumer according to Patronage Store (애고점포에 따른 명품브랜드 소비자의 쇼핑성향 및 점포속성중요도)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate on the shopping orientation and the importance of store attributes of luxury brand consumer. A questionnaire survey was administered to 350 female consumers over twenties who live in Seoul metropolitan area and Kyung-ki area. 324 data were analyzed by factor analysis, chi-square, ANOV A, correlation, and t-test. The results were as follows. 1) As a result of factor analysis, five dimensions were identified for shopping orientation: pursuit of ostentation and fashion, pursuit of pleasure, pursuit of economy, pursuit of personality, and pursuit of store convenience. 2) According to the factor analysis, the importance of store attributes were categorized in three factors: product and store service-conscious, price-conscious, and buying convenience-conscious. 3) Regarding the relation between shopping orientation and importance of store attributes, significant differences were found. 4) There were significant differences in according to demographic variables in terms of shopping orientation and importance of store attributes and store patronage.

  • This research classified fashion merchandisers into different categories depending on the type of companies they worked for and inquired into their line of work. In so doing, the authors attempted to outline the work for merchandise mix performed by each type of merchandiser and provide some raw data, which can be utilized to enhance their work efficiency. The evaluation tool used for this study was the questionnaire made on the basis of preceding studies, literature, and trade journals, which was then modified through one on one interviews with fashion merchandisers. The questionnaire contained 15 questions about merchandise mix. For data analysis, SPSS Package Program was used to conduct frequency analysis, ANOVA, and Tukey's test. The findings are as follows 1. National brand merchandisers spent most time on merchandise planning, then department store buyers, followed by imported brand merchandisers, and lastly buying office merchandisers. 2. In merchandise planning, National brand merchandisers did more work overall compared to other merchandisers. In production planning, buying office merchandisers spent more time than any others on searching for new suppliers and decision-making. 3. Production planning took up a greater portion of their work for National brand merchandisers and buying office merchandisers compared to department store buyers and imported brand merchandisers. 4. Imported brand merchandisers spent more time on purchase planning and actual purchase compared to any others.

  • Merchandise should show a visual message that gives consumers' life an additional meaning besides practicality. This should be based on the concept of the merchandise. But in reality, concept is not often properly shown at the store and this is the result more of an inadequate recognition of the merchandise than the store environment. Therefore, this study promotes the recognition of the emotional and cultural point of merchandise, and applies keywords extracted from the practise of marketing to sales strategies for the growth of the fashion business and the VMD expansion.

  • The aim of this study is develop a state-funded education and training curriculum to contribute to the development of the fashion industry infrastructure. This will be achieved based on the service sector by the competitive clothing sales personnel and fashion startups. The study was conducted using a qualitative research method. The participants were 20 representatives of fashion-related companies and employees from one traditional market and two fashion outlets in Seogu, Gwangju. Data was collected from September 2015 to January 2017 by demand surveys and in-depth interviews. These were conducted on the same day at each clothing store office. In addition, existing literature was also reviewed. The collected data were first summarized into 64 meaning units from which three themes were derived by arranging, classifying, and analyzing the data. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the education and training curriculum for fashion job creation is aimed at job-oriented field-types with the objective of cultivating professional skills for online to offline fashion professionals. Second, the curriculum for fashion advisors was developed to consisted of 8 courses of 150 hours, including job knowledge, a foreign language, fashion-specific knowledge, fashion marketing & VMD, store management know-how, clothing repair, field trip, and internship. Third, the curriculum for fashion entrepreneurs consisted of 8 courses of 106 hours, including entrepreneurship, fashion practice, startup, field trip, finance & taxation accounting, marketing, social enterprise course, and internship.

A Study on the Characteristics of Patronage Consumer Related to Types of Oultlet Store (상설할인 매장 유형별 애고 소비자의 특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this were 1) to classify patronage consumer of outlet store related to types of outlet store, 2) to investigate differences among groups in 4 variables(importance of store attributes, shopping orientations, and the use of information source, demographic variables). The questionnaire was administered to 344 women living in Seoul, and the methods used to analyze the data were Frequecy, Factor analysis, ANOVA, F-test, and X2 test. The results were as follows: 1) outlet store consumers were classified into 3 patronage group: patronage group of outlet store for imported licence brands, for domestic brands, and for famous brands in off-price store system. 2)There were some significant differences among 3 groups. Those who patronize outlet store of imported licence brands were most likely to give importance on exclusiveness of store, to be brand loyal/conscious, not to enjoy classical style, to use information of fashion publications/TV, observations, and to be highly educated.

The Structural Analysis of the Variables among Clothes Consumption Value, Need for Uniqueness, Use Information Sources Related to Importance of Apparel Product Attributes and Store Attributes (의복소비가치, 독특성 욕구, 정보원 활용이 의류제품속성 및 점포속성 중요도에 영향을 미치는 변인 간의 구조 분석)

  • This study establishes how the clothes consumption value, need for uniqueness, and use information sources could influence the importance of apparel product attributes and the importance of store attributes. Data were collected through a survey of adults in their 20's and 30's with 48 questionnaires for statistical analysis. The collected data were processed with the programs AMOS 16.0 and SPSS 18.0 for windows and reliability analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and structural equation analysis were conducted to analyze the data. The results in this research are follows. First, the clothes consumption value influences the importance of apparel product attributes both directly and indirectly and the importance of store attributes indirectly through use information sources. Second, the need for uniqueness influences the importance of apparel product attributes indirectly and importance of store attributes both directly and indirectly through clothes consumption value and use information sources. The implications of these findings and suggestions for future study are also discussed.

An Analysis of Consumer's Buying Behaviors and the Importance of Store Attributes in SPA Brand - Focused on Female College Student in Seoul Metropolitan Area and Gyeongi-Do Area - (SPA 브랜드의 소비자 구매 행동 및 점포 속성 중요도 분석 - 서울, 경기지역 여대생을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to propose the strategy for increasing the merchandising power of the SPA brand to improve the competitiveness of domestic fashion industry. A questionnaire survey was administered to 270 SPA brand customer who live in Seoul Metropolitan area and Gyeongi-do area. 240 data were analyzed by factor analysis, t-test, crosstabs analysis, and one-way ANOVA using SPSSWIN 12.0 program. The result were as follows: Importance of store attributes were categorized in five factors: store environment, service, product sales promotion, and convenience. A consumer's the importance of store attributes was significantly different depending on that consumer's demographic characteristics(major, grade etc..) and general product purchasing characteristics(purchasing expense). This result should not be interpreted by expanding to the whole group of the consumer in SPA brand, as the sample used in this study is limited to those in Seoul and GyeongGi area.
