  • This study examines the impact of consumer ethics on the CSR motive attributions and, the subsequent consumer perception of the firm's ethicality. Data of 512 adults were collected nationwide using a self-administered questionnaire online. Exploratory and confirmative factor analysis were employed to identify six underlying dimensions of consumer ethics, as follows: actively benefiting from illegal actions, passively benefiting from illegal actions, no harm/no foul, economic benefiting from illegal actions, intellectual property infringement, and pro-environmental behavior. In order to examine the relationships between consumer ethics, CSR motive attribution, and consumer perceived ethicality, a structural equation modeling test was conducted. The results demonstrated that actively benefiting from illegal actions, economic benefiting from illegal action, and pro-environmental behavior had impacts on CSR motive attributions such as strategy-driven attribution, value-driven attribution, and stakeholder-driven attribution. Consequently, strategy-driven attribution and value-driven attribution influenced the consumer perception of the firm's ethicality, whereas stakeholder-driven attribution did not. This study provides an understanding of the CSR attribution mechanism from the view of consumer ethics that are multi-dimensional. The ethical judgements on different types of consumer behavior lead to attributions of CSR motives and subsequently their perception of a firm's ethicality.

  • A blog has significant effect as a new online medium and as a tool to share information with its powerful networking function. Blogs are established based on personal experience and their impact is stronger than conventional media in terms of informativeness, credibility and interactivity. Such characteristics of blogs lead to blog commitment (a phenomenon that has behavioral consequences) that eventually influences consumer fashion purchase behavior. The more a consumer is interested in fashion and seeks diverse information from a wide range of media, the more personally committed they become to certain blogs; in addition, they will also post the results of their fashion product purchases on their blog to further create and reproduce information. This research discovers how blog commitment affects fashion product purchase behavior and information reproduction activity among consumers as well as explores the impact of blog characteristics and information variety seeking by individual consumers on these factors. The data was collected from 428 adults who purchased a fashion product based on information they found on a blog. The results are as follows. First, blog characteristics are composed of accessibility, interactivity, credibility of the information, and informativeness. Second, in terms of the blog commitment, informativeness, credibility, and consumer information diversification (respectively), turned out to have positive effects; in addition, accessibility and credibility had positive effects for corporate blogs. The comparison between private and corporate blogs showed that consumers tend to be more committed to private blogs. Third, in terms of the brand attitude, private/corporate blog commitment, credibility, and consumer information diversification (respectively) had a positive influence. Fourth, blog characteristics and consumer information diversification led consumers (through private/corporate blog commitment) to form a favorable attitude towards the brand and purchase products that resulted in information reproduction of the purchased product.

This study examines the effects of consumer characteristics (similarity, opinion leadership, and fashion innovativeness), awareness of Korean fashion brands, satisfaction with Korean fashion products on WOM experiences and WOM behavior (off-line as well as on-line). A total of 161 responses from Chinese students in Korea were gathered and analyzed using SPSS 20.0 for descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The results show that consumer characteristics (except similarity) significantly influence WOM experiences, opinion leadership influence off-line WOM behavior, and fashion innovativeness influence online WOM behavior. However, similarity has no influence on WOM experiences and WOM behavior. Second, Korean brand awareness affect both WOM experiences and behavior; however, satisfaction with Korean fashion products only affected WOM experiences. This study showed the feasibility of conducting a WOM marketing strategy using the WOM effects of Chinese students in Korea. The study may help the Korean apparel industries establish an entry strategy for the Chinese market.

  • To improve the discrepancy between consumer attitude and actual consumption behavior despite the expansion of consumer perception of sustainable fashion, this study attempted to identify the factors influencing the purchase intention and behavior of sustainable fashion consumers. The extended theory of planned behavior, which adds prior knowledge and consumer inertia, was used to predict purchase intention and factors affecting purchase behavior for sustainable fashion, and to verify the influence of knowledge and inertia on consumers' attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The results of this study were derived from SPSS and AMOS statistical analysis based on response data of 323 domestic male and female consumers, 20 years or older with experience in sustainable fashion consumption. The results showed that consumers' prior knowledge and inertia about sustainable fashion have a significant influence on their attitude toward sustainable fashion consumption, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Implications were derived based on this quantitative verification. The higher the level of consumers' knowledge of sustainable fashion, the greater the impact on attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, but inertia decreases the impact. Therefore, to grow consumers' knowledge, not only a shopping environment should be established but also inertia should be suppressed as much as possible through sustainable fashion marketing activities.

The research results can be summarized as follows. Second, the facilitating conditions and the platform usage intention of Chinese Generation MZ consumers directly and significantly influence the usage behavior on online fashion platforms. In contrast, it was confirmed that habit does not significantly influence actual usage behavior. Third, this study confirmed the moderating effect of satisfaction on the relationship between behavioral intention and usage behavior on online fashion platforms. This research, which proposes a research model explaining the usage intention and behavior of online fashion platforms based on UTAUT2, integrating not only the organizational aspect but also the consumer aspect to empirically verify the usage intention and the final usage behavior from the general consumer's perspective, has academic significance.
