치매환자의 치유농장 프로그램 이용 후 환자보호자의 경험에 대한 질적 사례연구 (Qualitative Case Study on the Experiences of Care Givers with Dementia Patients after using the Care Farm Program)

  • 우리는 본 연구에서 현재 우리나라 치유농장에서 시범적으로 운영되고 있는 치유농업 프로그램을 시행하고 이를 경험한 치매 대상자의 환자보호자로서의 경험과 느낌을 인터뷰하고 치유농업 프로그램의 장점 및 단점을 확인 하였다. 이에 우리는 치유농장 프로그램 및 운영에 있어서 개선점과 프로그램의 특징 등에 대해서 알아 보았다. 특히, 치매 초기 단계의 치유농장 이용, 거주지에서 치유농장으로 이동하는 접근성문제, 다양한 프로그램과 프로그램의 연속성, 그리고 계절에 맞는 콘텐츠 개발에 의견을 모으고 있다. 앞으로의 치유농장에서 치유농업을 활용하여 치매환자에게 치유농업 관련 프로그램을 개발하기 위해 초기 치매 환자의 이용문제, 접근성, 다양성, 연속성, 계절성 등의 요소를 고려해야 할 것으로 보여진다.

Species Profiles and Antimicrobial Resistance of Non-aureus Staphylococci Isolated from Healthy Broilers, Farm Environments, and Farm Workers

  • Non-aureus staphylococci (NAS), particularly antimicrobial-resistant NAS, have a substantial impact on human and animal health. In the current study, we investigated (1) the species profiles of NAS isolates collected from healthy broilers, farm environments, and farm workers in Korea, (2) the occurrence of antimicrobial-resistant NAS isolates, especially methicillin resistance, and (3) the genetic factors involved in the methicillin and fluoroquinolone resistance. In total, 216 NAS isolates of 16 different species were collected from healthy broilers (n=178), broiler farm environments (n=18), and farm workers (n=20) of 20 different broiler farms. The two most dominant broiler-associated NAS species were Staphylococcus agnetis (23.6%) and Staphylococcus xylosus (22.9%). Six NAS isolates were mecA-positive carrying staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) II (n=1), SCCmec IV (n=1), SCCmec V (n=2), or nontypeable SCCmec element (n=2). While two mecA-positive Staphylococcus epidermidis isolates from farm workers had SCCmec II and IV, a mecA-positive S. epidermidis isolate from broiler and a Staphylococcus haemolyticus isolate farm environment carried SCCmec V. The occurrence of multidrug resistance was observed in 48.1% (104/216 isolates) of NAS isolates with high resistance rates to β-lactams (>40%) and fusidic acid (59.7%). Fluoroquinolone resistance was confirmed in 59 NAS isolates (27.3%), and diverse mutations in the quinolone resistance determining regions of gyrA, gyrB, parC, and parE were identified. These findings suggest that NAS in broiler farms may have a potential role in the acquisition, amplification, and transmission of antimicrobial resistance.

소규모 가족농의 다활동성 실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Current Situation of Pluriactivity of Small-Scale Family Farm Households)

  • This study aims at identifying the characteristics of various income earning activities conducted by small family farms, so-called pluriactivity, in Korea, Traditionally small farm households have been regarded in Korea as those who have not only very limited economic capability, but also very low status in rural society. However, in Europe, since the 1990s, there have been some researches found out the role of small farms in socio-economic development of rural regions. These tended to conclude that such various economic activities of small farms' may contribute to the development of rural region. Introducing the concept of pluriactivity from the European studies, this study carried out surveys and interviews with 38 small farm household in Chungnam region in terms of the fundamental reasons for pluriactivity and the impact on rural economies. The analysis revealed the main reason of pluriactivity could be the lack of income for family. Nevertheless, this study also identified another important reason of pluriactivity that small farms' desire to live in rural areas may drive them to do the pluriactivity. It may mean that farming could not be the main option for them to live in rural areas. In addition, it was confirmed that this pluriactivity has a positive impact on rural areas, such as landscape management, job creation, and cultural provision. Along with this, it was confirmed that there is a difference in pluriactivity characteristics according to age. It then necessary concludes that the rural development policy must consider the characteristics of farm households when they provide the support for farming and non-farming activities.

농가민박 이용객의 여행 동기에 따른 세분시장과 방문객 선호에 따른 서비스품질 만족 차이 분석 (Service Quality Satisfaction according to Farm Stay Visitors Preferences and Segmentation by Motivation)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the difference between service quality satisfactions according to tourists' preference and segmentation by various motivations. Data were collected from 442 farm stay visitors by field surveys in rural areas. A factor-clustering method identified three distinct segments; want-it-all, overall low motivation, relaxation. MANOVA was used to examine the differences of service quality satisfaction for farm stay visitors' preference and segmentation by motivation. Results show that the type of guest room more significantly influenced farm stay visitors' satisfaction according to those three clusters. It should be noted that we have information on the characteristics and type of satisfaction of the consumers in order to improve the quality of farmstay's service in rural tourism.

  • Power output of a wind farm fluctuates throughout a day. This affect a distance relay for wind farm intertie protection because a voltage of a relaying point varies due to fluctuating output of a wind farm. This paper describes the analysis of the response of a distance relay for intertie protection when the power output of a wind farm increases. A series of single phase to ground faults were also simulated and analyzed with PSCAD/EMTDC generated data.

  • A large wind farm should satisfy the requirements for a grid and accomplish the optimization of the wind farm system. In that point of view, the wind farm intertie protection system, which must consider the Fault Ride-Through (FRT) requirement for more reliable protection, should be improved. This paper proposes a modified distance relay suitable for protection of a wind farm intertie considering a FRT requirement. The frequency change is used to discriminate the intertie fault from a outside zone fault. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified using a PSCAD/EMTDC simulator.

왕겨가스 에 의한 農용石油機關 의 驅動 에 관한 硏究 (An Experimental Study on the Farm Engine Driven by Rice Chaff Gas)

  • Gasification of rice chaff has traditionally been used to produce a clean fuel suitable for lighting, heating and engine application. Since oil crisis, a series of experimental study has been performed to drive a farm engine by agricultural wastes. We produced a combustible gas from rice chaff with a fixed bed up-draught gasifier system, and applied it to a conventional farm kerosene engine. This experiment was quite successful one. We could drive the farm engine with maximum horse power of 9 PS by rice chaff gas which was fairly competitive to the continuous horse power of 10 PS obtained when kerosene was used. Problems of tar existence in gas have been discussed, but we are confident that these can be solved in near future. Development and application of the gasification process will help our farm economy, not only by conserving petroleum oil but by utilizing agricultural wastes.

  • In order to reduce the production cost and improve the quality of dairy feed, several dairy feed mill model suitable for Korean farm size are developed. Also, capital requirement and operating costs of the model mill are analyzed. And these analyzed data are compared with the commercial feed production cost, in order to test whether the model mills are suitable or not in Korean dairy farm. Also optimum model is recommended depending on size of dairy farm. As a result, developed model mill(TMR) is very useful in Korea dairy farm not only reduce production cost up to 78% but also improve the qualities.
