인터넷 서비스 기반의 선체외판 가공 연구 (Curved Hull Plate Forming based on SOAP Internet Services)

  • Fabrication of the hull plate demands a lot of man-hour and a high degree of technology. In recent years, commercial shipping orders have been fallen because of intensifying competition with low price of order and labor cost. In order to solve this problem, a countermeasure such as a cost reduction is required. In this study, we are dealing with the method of supplying the forming information of the hull to the production site. We reviewed studies of hull forming that have been proposed so far to develop a method for providing hull forming information. On the basis of given production plans from the production site of shipyard, we discuss how to convert shell plate to production plan. Then, we will discuss the efficiency of the distribution method through the network about the method of hull forming. Thus, we have modified the distribution method which was proposed before. Finally, we will introduce the enhanced method for providing fabrication information of the hull plate to the small and medium-sized shipyards.

Fabrication, Microstructures and High-Strain-Rate Properties of TiC-Reinforced Titanium Matrix Composites

  • TiC ceramic particulate-reinforced titanium matrix composites were fabricated and the resultant densification, microstructure, and static and dynamic mechanical properties were studied. Comparing Ti with TiH₂powders as host materials for TiC ceramic reinforcement by pressureless vacuum sintering, TiH₂-started composites showed better sinterability and resistance to both elastic and plastic deformation than Ti-started ones. When TiH₂and TiH₂-45 vol.%TiC samples were hot pressed, TiH₂matrices transformed to alpha prime Ti and alpha Ti phase, respectively. It is interpreted that the diffusion of an alpha stabilizer carbon from TiC into the matrix is one of the plausible reasons far such a microstructural difference. The 0.2% offset yield strengths of the hot pressed TiH₂and TiH₂-45 vol.%TiC samples were 1008 and 1446 MPa, respectively, in a static compressive mode (strain rate of 1×$10^{-3}$/s). Dynamic compressive strengths of the samples were 1600 and 2060 MPa, respectively, at a strain rate of 4×10³/s.

A Characteristic Analysis and Countermeasure Study of the Hedging of Listed Companies in China Stock Markets

  • Due to COVID-19, the risk of price volatility in commodity and equity markets increases. The research and application of hedging is the most effective way to reduce the market risk. Hedging is a risk management strategy employed to offset losses in investments by taking an opposite position in a related asset. We use K-means and hierarchical clustering methods to cluster companies and futures products respectively, and analyze the relationship between the number of hedging firms, regional distribution, nature of firms, capital distribution, company size, profitability, number of local Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs), regional location, and listing time. The study shows that listed companies with large scale and good profitability invest more money in hedging, while state-owned enterprises' participation in hedging is more likely to be affected by the company size and the number of local futures commission merchants, and private enterprises are more likely to be affected by the company profitability and the regional location. Listed companies are more willing to choose long-listed and mature futures products for hedging. We also provide policy advice based on our conclusion. So far, there is no study on the characteristics of hedging. This paper fills the gap. The results provide a basis and guidance for people's investment and risk management. Using clustering analysis in hedging study is another innovation of this paper.

A Study on the Image Processing of Visual Sensor for Weld Seam Tracking in GMA Welding

  • In this study, a preview-sensing visual sensor system is constructed far weld seam tracking in GMA welding. The visual sensor system consists of a CCD camera, a diode laser system with a cylindrical lens, and a band-pass-filter to overcome the degrading of image due to spatters and/or arc light. Among the image processing methods, Hough transform method is compared with the central difference method from a viewpoint of the capability for extracting the accurate feature position. As a result, it was revealed that Hough transform method can more accurately extract the feature positions and it can be applied to real time weld seam tracking. Image processing which includes Hough transform method is carried out to extract straight lines that express laser stripe. After extracting the lines, weld joint position and edge points are determined by intersecting the lines. Even though the image includes a spatter trace on it, it is possible to recognize the position of weld joint. Weld seam tracking was precisely implemented with adopting Hough transform method, and it is possible to track the weld seam in the case of offset angle is in the region of $\pm$ $15^{\circ}$.

Absolute calibration of near-infrared Period-Luminosity-Metallicity relations for RR Lyrae variables using Gaia EDR3

  • RR Lyrae stars are sensitive probe for the precision stellar astrophysics and also for the cosmic distance scale thanks to their well-defined near-infrared Period-Luminosity relations (PLRs). These horizontal branch variables can be used for primary calibration of the first-rung of population II distance ladder providing an evaluation of the ongoing tension between Cepheid-Supernovae based Hubble constant and the Planck results. Therefore, absolute calibration of RR Lyrae PLRs is now crucial to complement or test the tip of the red giant branch based distances, and in turn, population II star based Hubble constant measurements. While the pulsation models of RR Lyrae can reproduce most observables, they predict a significant metallicity effect on their JHKs-band PLRs that is inconsistent with so-far limited observational studies. We remedy this inconsistency of metallicity dependence in RR Lyrae PLRs by combining their near-infrared observations in the globular clusters of different mean-metallicities with the new parallaxes from the Gaia early data release 3 (EDR3). Our empirical results on Period-Luminosity-Metallicity (PLZ)relations are consistent with theoretical predictions but the precision of absolute calibrations is still affected by the parallax uncertainties and the systematic zero-point offset present in the Gaia EDR3.

심도영역 속도모델 구축을 위한 구조보정 속도분석(MVA) 기술의 탄성파 현장자료 적용성 연구 (A Study on Field Seismic Data Processing using Migration Velocity Analysis (MVA) for Depth-domain Velocity Model Building)

  • 최적의 심도 영역 속도를 도출하기 위한 구조보정 속도분석(MVA, migration velocity analysis) 기법을 해양에서 취득한 원거리 다중채널 탄성파 자료에 적용하여 그 효용성을 확인한다. 지금까지 통상적으로 수행된 시간 영역 자료처리 결과는 지질학적 층서해석에는 무리 없는 결과이나, 어느 정도 가능성이 있는 플레이나 리드 지역에서의 유가스 탐사에서는 저류층 지질모델 구축, 시추 설계, 매장량 계산에서 반드시 심도 영역 속도 구조와 영상이 필요하다. 데이터 영역에서 근사 방식을 사용한 공통 중간점 기반 속도 분석으로부터 도출한 속도는 처음부터 오차를 내재하여 불확실성이 높다. 반면에, 이를 보완해 줄 검층 자료가 없는 상황에서 실측 규모의 속도 구조를 도출하는데 있어 이미지 영역 구조보정 속도분석 기법은 상당히 효율적인 방법이다. 이 연구에서는 해양에서 취득한 다중 채널 탄성파자료에 대해 합리적인 결과를 도출하기 위해 시간 영역에서 신호의 품질을 최적화하고, 이 자료에 대하여 반복적으로 MVA 기법을 적용함으로써 심도영역 속도 및 구조보정 단면도를 도출하였다. 시간 영역 속도를 단순히 Dix 방정식에 의해 심도영역으로 변환한 속도를 이용하여 생성한 결과(공통 수신점 모음도 및 중합 단면도)와 MVA 기법을 이용한 심도영역 자료처리를 통해 도출된 속도를 이용하여 생성한 결과를 비교함으로써, 심도영역 결과가 보다 합리적임을 확인하였다. 심도 영역으로 도출된 속도는 중합전 심도 구조보정에 바로 사용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 현장 자료의 파형역산 적용 시 초기 모델로 활용함으로써 역산 수행 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 국부 최소(local minima) 문제를 최소화할 수 있다.

Establishment of an Efficient System for the Production of Transgenic Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer Embryos

  • The present study was conducted for the production of transgenic cloned cows by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) that secrete human prourokinase into milk. To establish an efficient production system for bovine transgenic SCNT embryos, the offset was examined of various conditions of donor cells including cell type, size, and passage number on the developmental competence of transgenic SCNT embryos. An expression plasmid far human prourokinase (pbeta-ProU) was constructed by inserting a bovine beta-casein promoter, a green fluorescent protein (GFP) marker gene, and a human prourokinase target gene into a pcDNA3 plasmid. Three types of bovine somatic cells including two adult cells (cumulus cells and ear fibroblasts) and fetal fibroblasts were prepared and transfected using a lipid-meidated method. In Experiment 1, developmental competence and rates of GFP expression in bovine transgenic SCNT embryos reconstructed with cumulus cells were significantly higher than those from fetal and ear fibroblasts. In Experiment 2, the effect of cellular senescence in early (2 to 4) and late (8 to 12) passages was investigated. No significant differences in the development of transgenic SCNT embryos were observed. In Experient 3, different sizes of GFP-expressing transfected cumulus cells [large (>30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) or small cell (<30 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$)] were used for SCNT. A significant improvement in embryo development and GFP expression was observed when small cumulus cells were used for SCNT. Taken together, these results demonstrate that (1) adult somatic cells could serve as donor cells in transgenic SCNT embryo production and cumulus cells with small size at early passage were the optimal cell type, and (2) transgenic SCNT embryos derived from adult somatic cells have embryonic development potential.

  • The FIMS(Far-ultraviolet IMaging Spectrograph), the main payload onboard the first Korean Science Technology SATellite, STSAT-1, has performed various astronomical observations, including the Cygnus Loop, Vela supernova remnants, LMC(Large Magellanic Cloud), since its launch on September 2003. It has been found that the attitude information provided by spacecraft bus system has the errors of more than about 10-15 arcmins due to the time offset problem and errors in attitude knowledge. We develop an algorithm for correction of position errors in FIMS data. The aspect for the FIMS data is determined by comparing the positions of observed bright stars with the Tycho-II and TD-1 catalogs. The position errors of the bright stars along the scanning (${\gamma}$) and spatial (${\delta}$) directions were considered as functions of ${\delta}$, ignoring errors in position angle. The corrected positions of the bright stars coincided very well to their Tycho-II and TD-I positions. The correction algorithm is essential for the FIMS data analysis, and is being used for the FIMS data analysis.

High Conversion Gain Q-band Active Sub-harmonic Mixer Using GaAs PHEMT

  • In this paper, we have designed and fabricated high conversion gain Q-band active sub-harmonic mixers for a receiver of millimeter wave wireless communication systems. The fabricated active sub-harmonic mixer uses 2nd harmonic signals of a low local oscillator (LO) frequency. The fabricated mixer was successfully integrated by using $0.1{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$GaAs pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistors (PHEMTs) and coplanar waveguide (CPW) structures. From the measurement, it shows that maximum conversion gain of 4.8 dB has obtained at a RF frequency of 40 GHz for 10 dBm LO power of 17.5 GHz. Conversion gain from the fabricated sub-harmonic mixer is one of the best reported thus far. And a phase noise of the 2nd harmonic was obtained -90.23 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset. The active sub-harmonic mixer also ensure a high degree of isolations, which are -35.8 dB from LO-to-IF and -40.5 dB from LO-to-RF, respectively, at a LO frequency of 17.5 GHz.

다시점 비디오 부호화에서 스킵 모드의 휘도 보상 정보 유도 방법 (Derivation of Illumination Compensation Information for SKIP Modes in Multi-view Video Coding)

  • 본 논문에서는 다시점 비디오 부호화에서 P-SKIP과 B-SKIP 모드에서 휘도 보상 정보를 유도하는 방법을 소개한다. 기존의 P-SKIP 모드에서 휘도 보상 플래그와 휘도 보상값이 일관성 없이 유도되는 경우를 제거하여 휘도 보상 시에 복잡도를 줄이는 방법과 B-SKIP 모드에 중복적으로 수행되는 휘도 보상 플래그와 휘도 보상값 유도 방법을 하나의 방법으로 통합함으로써 계산 복잡도를 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법의 실험 결과 객관적인 화질 측정 실험에서는 거의 동일한 성능을 나타내며, 실제 복호 수행 시에 P-SKIP에서는 일관성 없이 유도되는 경우가 제거되면서 휘도 보상을 수행하는 블록의 수가 평균적으로 7.47% 감소하였고, B-SKIP에서는 휘도 보상을 수행하는 블록 당 평균 연산자의 수는 50.36% 감소하였고 실제 평균 복호 수행 시간은 46% 감소하였다.
