The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the pre-parent education program and its application to adolescents in residential care. The following research question will be used in the evaluation of the program's effectiveness: a change in self-esteem of the adolescents in residential care and a change in defining an ideal family. With these research questions, a survey of the requirements for its contents and previous studies were researched, and adolescents in residential care participated in the program in 12 sessions of 4 stages. The research showed a meaningful change of p>.001 for self-esteem and the ideal family in pre, post-test to the experimental group and control group. That proved the effectiveness of the pre-parent education program. Observing the experimental group's change process, the researcher proved the following results. At the beginning of the program experimental group showed hopelessness and disliked participating in the program. At the end of this, they had active attitudes, confidence and challenge to the vision. This study contains theory and various practical family activities. This study made a contribution to help adolescents in residential care enhance self-esteem and define the future ideal family.
The primary goal of this study is to identify disintegration and reconstruction of the family/kinship structure in the rapidly industrializing urban area, Seoul. For this purpose, detailed data about (1) the value related to the family and kinship (2) the family relationship, especially marital relationship (3) the attitude of divorce and remarriage (4) the characteristics of the social network (5) the family/kin rites and attitude about the rites are gathered. A total of 716 subjects completed structured questionnaires. Major conclusions of the study are as follows: Firstly, most of the respondents are found not to support familism and boy preference, and they show an ambivalence about the child value analyzed by concepts of the cost and reward. Secondly, most of the respondents perceive that marital relationship has been changed toward the direction of increased relative importance of wives' opinion in the decision making process within the family. However, they believe that husbands still have more power than their wives. Respondents also believe that parents have more power than their children. Thirdly, most of the respondents view divorce as an altemative to unhappy marriage. It was also shown that relatively few have negative attitude toward remarriage. Fourthly, the social network of the respondents is characterized by two distinct trends, namely, strong parent-child ties and narrowed kin relationship. Fifthly, the urbanization and the introduction of western life style have disrupted the traditional rites of passage. But ancestral rites serve to confirm family ties, especially the gathering of siblings to perform ancestral rites for parents. Therefore foreign element exist in parallel with pre-existing traditional elements.

This study aims to give a broad overview of family-related contents in home economics from the 1st national curriculum to the 2007 revised national curriculum, thereby contributing to value fulfillment, textbook research, and educational development of home economics. The findings are summed up as follows: First, this study looks at the change of family-related goals and contents in home economics tutorials by national curriculum. Family-related goals shift a focus from a member of nation to individual pursuit of happiness, and the scope of family-related contents expands from a part of family (i.e. understanding of children) to every aspect of family life. Second, family-related contents record a higher share in home economics textbooks at the later stage of national curriculum. Third, this study classifies the change of family-related contents in home economics textbooks by national curriculum into seven categories: understanding of human development, process of human development, parenting and parental roles, understanding of family and family transition, marriage and family development, family relationship and issues, and family well-being. In particular, 'understanding of human development' underscores fundamental principles between the 3rd~6th national curriculum, 'process of human development' broadens its initial focuses on infancy and the preschool period to every scope of human development after the 5th national curriculum. 'Parenting and parental role' continues to stress parental roles and duties plus childcare for infants and preschoolers. In 'understanding of family and family transition,' national curriculums show the biggest difference in family perspectives subject to social change, and later national curriculums feature various family types recently on the rise. In 'marriage and family development,' initial national curriculums construe marriage as a necessity, whereas later national curriculums emphasize it as a matter of choice intertwined with mature love and responsibility. With coming under spotlight in recent national curriculum, 'family relationship and issues' highlights communication and family views based on gender equality for family unity. 'Family well-being' constitutes a pivotal part in the 2007 revised national curriculum, and it has recently emerged as the hottest issue in the family area as it presents lifelong welfare.
While there is universal agreement that the ecosystems approach to family resource management is the must influential currently, questions have arisen about the broad applicability of the Deacon & Firebaugh (1988) ecosystems framework. Engberg (1996) has characterized the dominant approach in family resource management as technical and argued that a technical approach substantially restricts feasible actions in much of the world and should not be used in ethical practice. The purpose of the present paper is to compare the family resource management patterns by dual role manager of business owning families in Korea and The United States. Such a comparison is an essential step in the assessment of the usefulness of the Deacon & Firebaugh framework, in particular, and the ecosystems framework, more generally. Korean respondents are 105 family and business managers interviewed in 2000 as part of a survey of owners of small to medium size family business enterprises in Seoul. U.S. respondents are 259 dual role managers in the National Family Business Survey (NFBS 1997). Chi squared statistics indicated country differences on each of the ten(goal setting, standard setting, demand clarification, resource assessment, action sequencing, actuating, checking, adjusting, demand responses, resource change)management practices. Mean responses on eight of the practices(goal setting, standard setting, action sequencing, actuating, checking, adjusting, demand responses, resource changes) were significantly different between two countries. U.S. total score means of family resource management were higher than Korea. Factor analysis of the management scale items yielded different patterns for Korea, and the United States. Korean dual role manager of family business were categorized into three different patterns as classic oriented manager, goal oriented manager, action oriented manager and U.S. were categorized into Process oriented manager and Production oriented manager. Both the number of managerial strategies and the types of strategies used varied in the two countries.
This study examined the double mediating effects of work-family conflict and parenting guilt on the relationship between perfectionism and parenting behavior for working mothers. The survey was conducted on 340 working mothers with 3 to 5 year-old children, who lived in Daegu and Kyungpook Province, Korea. Data were collected through questionnaires on perfectionism, work-family conflict, parenting guilt, and parenting behavior. To analyze the collected data, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and analysis of variance were conducted by using SPSS 22.0 and Model 6 in PROCESS macro, with bootstrapping method. Work-family conflict and parenting guilt were used as mediators. Children's birth order and household income were controlled throughout the analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, work-family conflict and parenting guilt had inconsistent double mediating effects on the relationship between adaptive perfectionism and positive parenting behavior. Second, work-family conflict and parenting guilt had complete double mediating effects on the relationship between adaptive perfectionism and negative parenting behavior. Third, work-family conflict and parenting guilt did not have double mediating effects on the relationship between maladaptive perfectionism and positive parenting behavior. Finally, work-family conflict and parenting guilt had partial double mediating effects on the relationship between maladaptive perfectionism and negative parenting behavior. The findings provide a better understanding of the relationship between perfectionism and parenting behavior. The results also have implications for providing education for and counseling working mothers with children.
This study presents an appraisal of current theorizing process through the review of family studies. Also it shows the outlines of five sociological general theories and how to apply them to family studies. The field of family studies entered a new stage in the middle of the twentieth century. Especially the decade of the 1970s was a period of rapid development in family theories because middle-range theories were developed. Currently identified major conceptual frameworks of family studies are five sociological general theories. Exchange theory was utilized in several studies and the problems could have been conceptualized in a way that would have tested the general theory of rewards, costs, and profits, but in most instances the theory was developed at a limited substantive level. Symbolic interactionism is the most useful in understanding precarious human relationships, such as courtship processes, intergenerational relationships family roles, and powers. General systems theory have been provided generalizaitons useful for understanding the characteristics of the family systems and also useful in describing the interactions with the environment, and the functioning of a family along a continuum of open to closed. Conflict theorists point that the basic units of society comprise all persons who share a sense of status equality and there are continual struggles in society for various goods. This theory attemps to account for the development within the family of norms of equity, or fairness. Phenomenology becomes available when we cease to treat an object as real, and begin to treat the object as meant, as intended, as it appears. Therefore the formulation of an adequate and complete description of family is important. Family theorists must be urged to do a number of things including continuing to improve existing theory and continuing to develop metatheory and methodologies of building theory.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the divorce process on post-divorce adjustment. This study specifically examines the effects of the pre-divorce marital quality, perceived barriers to divorce at the time of considering divorce, and the level of everyday stress after divorce on post-divorce adjustment of men and women focused on gender differences. Data gathered from 147 men and 208 women living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province were analyzed for this study. The major findings are as follows. First, pre-divorce marital quality, perceived barriers to divorce at the time of considering divorce, and the level of everyday stress after divorce, have both positive and negative effects on post-divorce adjustment of divorced men and women depending on the stages of divorce process. Second, the relationship between various aspects of divorce process and adjustments differ according to the sub-dimension of post-divorce adjustment. Third, divorce process functions differently for divorced men and women. The results show the importance of considering the divorce process, including both pre-divorce and post-divorce circumstances in order to have a good understanding of post-divorce adjustment of men and women.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is an established technology and has the potential, in a variety of applications, to significantly reduce cost and improve performance. As RFID-enabled applications will fulfill similar tasks across a range of processes adapted to use the data gained from RFID tags, they can be considered as software products derived from a common infrastructure and assets that capture specific ions in the domain. This paper discusses a framework that supports the development of RFID-enabled applications based on a business process family model (BPFM), explicitly representing both commonalities and variabilities. To develop this framework, common activities are identified from RFID-enabled applications and the variabilities in the common activities are analyzed in detail using variation point concepts. Through this framework, RFID data is preprocessed, and thus, RFID-enabled applications can be developed without having to process RFID data. Sharing a common model and reusing assets to deploy recurrent services may be considered an advantage in terms of economic significance and the overall product quality afforded.
Some convergence theorems for approximating to a common fixed point of an infinite family of strictly pseudocontractive mappings of Browder-Petryshyn type are proved in the setting of Banach spaces by using a new composite implicit iterative process with errors. The results presented in the paper generalize and improve the main results of Bai and Kim [1], Gu [4], Osilike [5], Su and Li [7], and Xu and Ori [8].
Gift-giving is a universal behavior that still awaits satisfactory interpretation by social scientists. Gift are generally given to others in order to symbolize and celebrate important life events and family relationships. I also paper that by means of the selection and tranceference of gifts on these occasions im-portant symbolic messages are ocnveyed be-tween the giver and the recipient. Especially it suggested that gift-giving in the family can be interpreted as a means for socialization of its members Although clothing has been reported to be a frequently-given gift in sev-eral countries little is known about clothing gifts. This paper presents a paradigm for the clothing gift-giving process. Components of the clothing gift-giving process. Components of the clothing gift-giving are givers gifts recipients and situations involved. The para-digm consists of four stages : prepurchase purchase presentation and postpresentation. Theoretical and methodological issues in cloth-ing gift-giving research will be suggested and should be tested empirically.
