  • According as the modern form of the family becomes nuclearized, inevitable is the isolation of the family. The relationship of the neighborhood and the kinsmen are being dissolved, making the isolated and unsteady nuclear family. We need a community in the modern society, for we are facing a lot of social problems as the nuclear family. The problems are as follows ; the rearing of the children, the alienation of a woman and the woman's roles in the society. In addition to those problems, there are also such some other problems as the alienation of the old man and the social roles of them. That is to say, the community appeared as a kind of attempt to overcome the above-mentioned problems, Kibbutz may be itself called and enlarged family to function as one family even though it is not just a blood relationship. The American commune is a large family community as a group to overcome the alienation and solitude of the nuclear family. On the other hand, the urban community is the small-scaled and cooperative family to solve the problem that the modern nuclear family is a unit living solitarily and unsteadily. But in fact, even in such a community, there are much tension and conflict against its establishing purpose. In my opinion, if those communities have to surmount the tension and conflict which are derived from the process in a bid to overcome the troubles like the alienation and solitude of the nuclear family. The bond of family must be consolidated among all the members of the community. And then community may be co-existed with the traditional family as the alternative family in the future, which can supply the deficiency of the unsteady unclear family.

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a bereaved family care program by identifying characteristics of a grief healing process in a child loss. Method: The subjects were five bereaved mothers who have lost their children with cancer. Data was collected with in-depth interviews using grief phase assessment tool and grief reaction assessment tool from 1, February, 2001 to 31 August, 2002. Data was analyzed on the basis of two tools. Result: Process of grief in general was as follows: evading phase was within one week - one month, confrontation phase was 5 - 12 months, and reconciliation phase was after 9 months and still going on when the study was finished. Grief reaction in five (physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual) dimensions was stabilized when the phase moved into reconciliation phase. Influencing factors were intimacy and expectation towards child, social support, personality, prior loss experience, coping style, religion, culture, family cohesion, openness of communication, and stress events. Conclusion: These results suggest that a bereaved family care program considering characteristics of Korean culture should be developed and activated.

  • A newly recorded species of gammaridean amphipod, Cryptodius kelleri (Br$\ddot{u}$ggen, 1907) belonging to the family Odiidae Coleman and Barnard, 1991 collected from the east coastal area of Korea. Cryptodius kelleri (Br$\ddot{u}$ggen) is characterized by the medially expanded maxillipedal palp article 2, smooth dorsal pereonites, propodochelate gnathopod 1, subchelate gnathopod 2, lacking the posterior process on the basis of pereopods 5-7, dorsal carination of pleonite 3, posterolateral upturned process of pleonite 3, and an entire telson. The species is described and fully illustrated in the present study. A key is also provided to the species of genus Cryptodius. This is the first record of the family Odiidae from Korea.

  • In this note we establish a new non-convex hybrid iteration algorithm corresponding to Khan iterative process [4] and prove strong convergence theorems of common fixed points for a uniformly closed asymptotically family of countable quasi-Lipschitz mappings in Hilbert spaces. Moreover, the main results are applied to get the common fixed points of finite family of quasi-asymptotically nonexpansive mappings. The results presented in this article are interesting extensions of some current results.

  • The morphology, taxonomy, and distribution of species belonging to the diatom family Rhizosoleniaceae were studied from the marine coastal waters of Korea. Rhizosolenid diatom taxa were collected at 30 sites from September 2008 to February 2010 and were analyzed by light and scanning electron microscopy. We identified 6 rhizosolenid genera, including Rhizosolenia, Proboscia, Pseudosolenia, Neocalyptrella, Guinardia, and Dactyliosolen. We describe 5 genera in this study, except Rhizosolenia. Five genera were compared in detail with congeneric species. Six genera within the family Rhizosoleniaceae were divided into two groups based on morphological diagnostic characters including valve shape, areolae pattern, the shape of external process, and girdle segments in the column. The first group had a conoidal valve and loculate areolae, which comprised Rhizosolenia, Proboscia, Pseudosolenia, and Neocalyptrella, and the second group of Guinardia and Dactyliosolen showed a flat or rounded valve and poroid areolae. Important key diagnostic characters were based on valve shape, areolae pattern on the segment, external process, position of the tube, and the valve margin. D. phuketensis was new to Korean coastal waters.

  • A family of some capability indices { $C_{p}$(.alpha.,.beta.); .alpha..geq.0, .beta..geq.0}, containing the indices $C_{p}$, $C_{{pk}}$, $C_{{pm}}$, and $C_{{pmk}}$, has been defined by Vannman(1993) for the case of two-sided specification interval. By varying the parameters of the family various capability indices with suitable properties are obtained. We derive tha asymptotic distribution of the family { $C_{p}$(.alpha.,.beta.); .alpha..geq.0,.beta..geq.0} under general proper conditions. It is also shown that the bootstrap approximation to the distribution of the estimator $C_{p}$(.alpha., .beta.) is vaild for almost all sample sequences. These asymptotic distributions would be used in constructing some bootstrap confidence intervals.tervals.

  • By observing the psychotherapy process expressed by an adolescent with obssessive compulsive disorder, the author suggests that the main problem of OCD is not merely a product of an unconscious process as traditionally thought, but a learned problem solving process as a method surviving the more realistic conflicts, and therefore the treatment should be directed to more or less conscious and realistic issues and conflicts, family therapy should be offered too.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how science activities using nonfiction literature affectspreschool children's scientific process skills, attitudes and concepts. For the purposes of this study, two classes, consisting of four and five-year-old children in a kindergarten located in D city were selected. One class was designated as the experimental group and the other as the control group. The experimental group performed science activities using nonfiction literature, while the control group did not. Thisexperimental study was conducted over the course of 8 weeks. Analysis of data was performed by ANCOVA. The results of the posttest indicated that the experimental group which performed science activities using nonfiction literature showed an improvement in their process skills, scientific attitudes and scientific concepts compared with the control group.
