  • Based on the results of Probabilistic Safety Assessment(PSA) for a Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), Common Cause Failure(CCF) events have been recognized as one of the main contributors to the risk. Also, the CCF data and estimation method used in domestic PSA models have been pointed out as an issue with respect to the quality. The existing method of MGL and non-staggered testing even widely used were considered conservative in estimating the safety and had a limited capability in uncertainty analyses. Therefore, this paper presents the CCF estimation using a new generic data source and Alpha factor method. The analyses showed that Alpha factor and staggered method are effective in estimating the CCF contribution and risk insights of reference plant. This method will be a common bases for the optimization of new design for the construction plants as well as for the updating of safety assessment on the operating nuclear power plants.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of concrete strength on the stirrup effectiveness factor(K) of reinforced concrete beams with stirrup based on previous test results(a/d$\geq$2.5). In the procedure of the estimation of K, it was assumed that the ultimate shear strength for beams without stirrup is equal to the concrete contribution to shear strength for beam with stirrup. A model equation for calculation the stirrup of compressive strength of concrete. It was shown that the stirrup effective factor of compressive strength of concrete. It wah shown that the stirrup effective factor is greater than 1.0 up to compressive strength 85MPa. Therefore the current ACI Code equation for predicting the shear strength and the stirrup effectiveness factor of 1.0 is conservative for nomal and high stength concrete beams with stirrup.

  • For the screening factor of the tunnel and overbridge structure in the electrified railway, the ITU-T regulation denotes only a theoretical estimation method, and the actual numeric values are notified differently by the official announcement of each nations. In this study, the factors which can affect the screening factor are investigated and analysed by FEM and a suitable calculation method based on multi-conductor line theory for the current pre-estimation formula for the induction noise voltage in the national notice is presented. The case studies are performed using the real data of the tunnel and the overbridge of the electrified railway, and a satisfactory formula for the determining of screening factor is derived.

  • Random effects generalised linear models are useful for analysing clustered count data in which responses are usually correlated. We propose a Bayesian approach to parameter estimation and variable selection in random effects generalised linear models for count data. A simple Gibbs sampling algorithm for parameter estimation is presented and a simple and efficient variable selection is done by using the Gibbs outputs. An illustrative example is provided.

  • Software cost and schedule estimation is usually based on the estimated size of the software. Advanced estimation techniques also make use of the diverse factors viz, nature of the project, staff skills available, time constraints, performance constraints, technology required and so on. Usually, estimation is based on an estimation model prepared with the help of experienced project managers. Estimation of software cost is predominantly a crucial activity as it incurs huge economic and strategic investment. However accurate estimation still remains a challenge as the algorithmic models used for Software Project planning and Estimation doesn't address the true dynamic nature of Software Development. This paper presents an efficient approach using the contemporary Constructive Cost Model (COCOMO) augmented with the desirable feature of fuzzy logic to address the uncertainty and flexibility associated with the cost drivers (Effort Multiplier Factor). The approach has been validated and interpreted by project experts and shows convincing results as compared to simple algorithmic models.

  • In this paper, we suggest a noise estimation method for speech enhancement in nonstationary noisy environments. The proposed method consists of the following two main processes. First, in order to receive fewer affect of variable signals, a best fitting regression line is used, which is obtained by applying a least squares method to coefficient magnitudes in a node with a uniform wavelet packet transform. Next, in order to update the noise estimation efficiently, a differential forgetting factor and a correlation coefficient per subband are used, where subband is employed for applying the weighted value according to the change of signals. In particular, this method has the ability to update the noise estimation by using the estimated noise at the previous frame only, without utilizing the statistical information of long past frames and explicit nonspeech frames by voice activity detector. In objective assessments, it was observed that the performance of the proposed method was better than that of the compared (minima controlled recursive averaging, weighted average) methods. Furthermore, the method showed a reliable result even at low SNR.

  • Recently, Owing to booming of leisure activities and national enforcement of 5-day workweek system, Korean government has been promoting rural tourism policy of which operating project's title is Green Rural Experience Village, Rural Traditional Theme Village, etc. In this study, ken investigation result on Green Rural Experience Village sites, an estimation model of returns by green-tourism activities was developed. The model was constructed through factor analysis and regression analysis method. Regression model developed can estimate green-tourism revenue by investment budget, homepage preengagement sales, homepage visitors, capacity of eating and drinking facilities, capacity of lodging facilities. The model developed was applied in sample villages. With these results, estimation revenue was recorded average 138.3% of survey revenue, and statistical significance was good(correlation coefficient $R^2$ = 0.8255, level of significance : 0.000), and the range of relative error was recorded largely from -7.1% to 158.6%, and average relative error was 38.3% and good. And, the model developed in this study have the critical point in aspects of insufficient data, but the results will be used in green-tourism policies and projects, and revenue estimation about each village in the present and future is limited, but in province or the whole country the application is good.

  • It is very important that they accurately predict the software development cost in the early stage of a software development. Because cost estimations are required when bidding for a contract or determining whether a project is feasible in terms of a cost-benefit analysis. The criterions of the software cost estimation was set up to calculate software development cost more exactly, which is applied to made up a budget of the software business or to calculate a suitable cost to start the business in our country. However, as the software technology and environment are changing very rapidly, it need to enhance the criterion of the cost estimation continuously. Therefore, we tried to apply technology of software and a variety of factors of environment changes in present. Most of all, we proposed an introduction and readjustment of the adjustment factor applying 14 general system characteristics to improve the accuracy of the cost estimation and the schedule adjustment factor that is required by practicians. For evaluating the accuracy in terms of the real data, we have used MMRE & PRED. In result, we proved that the accuracy was clearly improved by applying the scale factor and readjusted VAF with 14 general system characteristics. Moreover, we evaluated the accuracy of the schedule adjustment factor.
