In this paper, a new face tracking algorithm is proposed. The CamShift (Continuously adaptive mean SHIFT) algorithm shows unstable tracking when there exist objects with similar color to that of face in the background. This drawback of the CamShift is resolved by the proposed algorithm using Kinect's pixel-by-pixel depth information and the skin detection method to extract candidate skin regions in HSV color space. Additionally, even when the target face is disappeared, or occluded, the proposed algorithm makes it robust to this occlusion by the feature point matching. Through experimental results, it is shown that the proposed algorithm is superior in tracking performance to that of existing TLD (Tracking-Learning-Detection) algorithm, and offers faster processing speed. Also, it overcomes all the existing shortfalls of CamShift with almost comparable processing time.
The system for the real time face detection is described in this paper. For face verification, support vector machine (SVM) was utilized. Although SVM performs quit well, SVM has a drawback that the computational cost is high because all pixels in a mask are used as an input feature vector of SVM. To resolve this drawback, a method to reduce the dimension of feature vectors using the integer DCT was proposed. Also for the real time face detection applications, low-complexity methods for face candidate detection in a gray image were used. As a result, the accurate face detection was performed in real time.

In this study, we try to find ways to recognize face recognition more stably and to improve the effectiveness and reliability of face recognition. In order to improve the face recognition rate, a lot of data must be used, but that does not necessarily mean that the recognition rate is improved. Another criterion for improving the recognition rate can be seen that the top/bottom of the recognition rate is determined depending on how accurately or precisely the degree of classification of the data to be used is made. There are various methods for classification analysis, but in this study, classification analysis is performed using a support vector machine (SVM). In this study, feature information is extracted using a normalized image with rotation information, and then projected onto the eigenspace to investigate the relationship between the feature values through the classification analysis of SVM. Verification through classification analysis can improve the effectiveness and reliability of various recognition fields such as object recognition as well as face recognition, and will be of great help in improving recognition rates.

The new approach was proposed which uses feature extraction based on fuzzy integral in the process of face verification using morphological shape decomposition. The centre of area was used with image pixels related with structure element and its weight in an attempt to consider neighborhood information. Therefore the morphological operators were defined for feature extraction. And then the number of decomposition images were more about 4 times than the conventional. Finally in the simulations with the extractions for face verification it was proved that the approach in this paper was even more good than the conventional in stability of feature extraction and threshold value.
In this paper, we propose a content-based face retrieval system which can retrieve a face based on a facial feature region. Instead of using keyword such as a resident registration number or name for a query, the our system uses a facial image as a visual query. That is, we recognize a face based on a specific feature region including eyes, nose, and mouth. For this, we extract the feature region using the color information based on HSI color model and the edge information from wavelet transformed image, and then recognize the feature region using neural network. The proposed system is implemented on client/server environment based on Oracle DBMS for a large facial image database. In the experiment with 150 various facial images, the proposed method showed about 88.3% recognition rate.

In this paper, we introduce a probabilistic model based on Bayesian networks BNs) for recognizing human fatigue. First of all, we measured face feature information such as eyelid movement, gaze, head movement, and facial expression by IR illumination. But, an individual face feature information does not provide enough information to determine human fatigue. Therefore in this paper, a Bayesian network model was constructed to fuse as many as possible fatigue cause parameters and face feature information for probabilistic inferring human fatigue. The MSBNX simulation result ending a 0.95 BN fatigue index threshold. As a result of the experiment, when comparisons are inferred BN fatigue index and the TOVA response time, there is a mutual correlation and from this information we can conclude that this method is very effective at recognizing a human fatigue.
This thesis presents a method for 3D modeling of facial expression from frontal and mirror-reflected multi-image. Since the proposed system uses only one camera, two mirrors, and simple mirror's property, it is robust, accurate and inexpensive. In addition, we can avoid the problem of synchronization between data among different cameras. Mirrors located near one's cheeks can reflect the side views of markers on one's face. To optimize our system, we must select feature points of face intimately associated with human's emotions. Therefore we refer to the FDP (Facial Definition Parameters) and FAP (Facial Animation Parameters) defined by MPEG-4 SNHC (Synlhetic/Natural Hybrid Coding). We put colorful dot markers on selected feature points of face to detect movement of facial deformation when subject makes variety expressions. Before computing the 3D coordinates of extracted facial feature points, we properly grouped these points according to relative part. This makes our matching process automatically. We experiment on about twenty koreans the subject of our experiment in their late twenties and early thirties. Finally, we verify the performance of the proposed method tv simulating an animation of 3D facial expression.

In this paper to computerized patient management of patients applying for a facial recognition algorithm to extract Face Feature Points environment, the implementation of the U-Healthcare offers. First, mobile devices and the pictures and photos of the patient data used as input data, the algorithm AdaBoost Face Feature Points patterns extracted, then stored in an existing database, extracted from the patient's sample photos, matching patterns and makes Face Feature Points. The result is the same patient if the patient information database, in recognizing the disease, doctors, and medical fields to extract the relevant information on the screen to output devices, the patient will present the implementation of recognition system.
It is very important to extract the expression data and capture a face image from a video for online-based 3D face animation. In recently, there are many researches on vision-based approach that captures the expression of an actor in a video and applies them to 3D face model. In this paper, we propose an automatic data extraction system, which extracts and traces a face and expression data from realtime video inputs. The procedures of our system consist of three steps: face detection, face feature extraction, and face tracing. In face detection, we detect skin pixels using YCbCr skin color model and verifies the face area using Haar-based classifier. We use the brightness and color information for extracting the eyes and lips data related facial expression. We extract 10 feature points from eyes and lips area considering FAP defined in MPEG-4. Then, we trace the displacement of the extracted features from continuous frames using color probabilistic distribution model. The experiments showed that our system could trace the expression data to about 8fps.

Skin color information is an important feature for face region detection in color images. This can detect face region using statistical skin color model who is created from skin color information. However, due to the including of different race of people's skin color points, this general statistical model is not accurate enough to detect each specific image as we expected. This paper proposes method to detect correctly face region in various color image that other complexion part is included. In this method set face candidate region applying complexion Gausian distribution based on YCbCr skin color model and applied mathematical morphology to remove noise part and part except face region in color image. And achieved correct face region detection because using Haar-like feature. This approach is capable to distinguish face region from extremely similar skin colors, such as neck skin color or am skin color. Experimental results show that our method can effectively improve face detection results.
