Objective : This study was designed to analyze the clinical studies on Tic disorder in traditional Korean medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. Methods : To figure out the Tic disorder, Korean medical studies from Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS) and Chinese Medical Journals from Wangfang data and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) which published in 2008 to 2012 were analyzed. Results & Conclusions : 1. DSM-IV(7 studies), CCMD(3 studies) were frequently used in the diagnosis of tic disorder. 2. The herbs used for the treatment of tic disorder are Uncariae ramulus et Uncus(釣鉤藤), Paeoniae Radix Alba(白芍藥), Poria(白茯苓), Buthus martensi Karsch(全蝎) etc. 3. Acupuncture points frequently used were Paek'oe(GV20), Pungji(GB20), Naegwan(PC6), Sasinchong(EX-HN1), T'aech'ung(LR3), Joksamni(ST36), Hapgok(LI4) and so on. 4. The cause of Tic disorder is connected with liver, heart, spleen, kidney, gall bladder among the internal organs and Fire(火), Wind(風), Dampness(濕) of external causes.
We investigated the toxic effects of carbaryl on early embryo development in the African clawed frog, Xenopus laevis. To test the toxic effects, frog embryo teratogenesis assays using Xenopus were performed. Embryos were exposed to various concentrations of carbaryl ($5{\sim}320\;{\mu}M$). $LC_{100}$ for carbaryl was $320\;{\mu}M$, and the $LC_{50}$ determined by probit analysis was the concentration of $235.68\;{\mu}M$. Exposure to $160\;{\mu}M$ of carbaryl resulted in 10 different types of severe external malformations. Histological examination revealed dysplasia of the eyes, heart, guts, somatic muscle, dorsal, liver, blood vessel and swelling of the pronephric ducts. Malformation of neural tissue and brain was not severe even in the high dose of carbaryl. Benzidine blood stain showed distinct inhibition of inducing erythrocytes in embryos and animal cap explants. Electron micrographs of embryo revealed retinal detachment, loose photoreceptor lamella and the degeneration of sarcomeres in the carbaryl-treated group. The mitochondrial degeneration was also observed in the test group.
Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAEs) can be measured in the external ear canal two fold: amplitude and latency, but most DPOAE studies deal with amplitude aspects. The purpose of this study was to investigate the latency of the 2f1-f2 DPOAEs in ears with hearing losses and to see if it could be a clinically useful method to distinguish normal from abnormal ears. For this purpose, DPOAE latency were measured as a function of frequency from 1 to 8 kHz in 30 ears with conductive and sensorineural hearing losses (SNHLs). DPOAEs were recorded with Otodynamic Analyzer ILO92. Results showed that the latency decreased as the frequency increased up to 8 kHz. The mean values of DPOAE latency for ears of SNHLs were shorter at all frequencies when they were compared to the mean values of normal ears. The latency in ears of conductive hearing losses was shorter than normal ears at the selective frequencies, as well. The results support the hypothesis that latency values are shorter in pathological ears.
Ninety feeder steers, predominantly Herefords weighing 280 kg, were assigned at random to each of nine diets: basal (high concentrate); 25 or 50% of untreated rice straw (25- or 50 URS) or ammoniated rice straw (25- or 50 ARS); a 50:50 mixture of URS - alfalfa or ARS - alfalfa replacing a proportion of the basal at 25 and 50%. Animals were slaughtered after 154 or 161 days of feeding. The cattle fed 50% URS had the lowest (P<.05) carcass weight, dressing & external fat thickness, kidney, pelvic and heart fat, rib eye area, marbling score, quality and yield grades, followed by cattle fed 50% ARS, 50% rice straw/alfalfa, and 25% rice straw alone or 25% rice straw/alfalfa mixture. Ammoniation of rice straw improved all measured traits. A 25% substitution of basal diet with untreated or ammoniated rice straw and a 50% substitution with rice straw/alfalfa mixture did not significantly affect carcass traits compared to the basal group. Only 50% ARS and 50% URS cattle showed differences in body composition (P<.05) with lower fat and higher water and protein contents. No significant differences were found in shear value, panel tenderness, connective tissue, juiciness, flavor and overall palatability of meat from steers fed the basal, ARS or URS diets.
After this study: I report the following result from it. 1. Beriberi is defined as sensory or motor disorder of leg with a painful-swelling and pyrexia. If it progress severely, the disease transmits to heart and cause numbness of the lower abdomen, vomiting, anorexia, palpitation, chest distress and confusion. 2. The external etiologic factors of Beriberi are wind-toxic pathogen, dampness, improper diet and climate sickness, the internal etiologic factors are deficiencies of the kidney, both Gi and blood and original vital energy. 3. The treatment of Beriberi is free-going of blockage, because it is a blocked disease. 4. Danggwiy-juntongtang and Ganghwar-dochetang is the most in the order of frequency of use. Mahwang-juagyongtang, Banha-juagyongtang, Daehwang-juagyongtang, Shinbi-juagyongtang are used in sequence. 5. The prescriptions of Beriberi are made up of the herbs that clear heat, for example, Ganghwar, Changchul, Mahwang and Bangpung, and the herbs that reinforces Gi, for example, Insam and Bakchul.
The word of stress was wsed in the field of physics as a external force from 17th century, but the meaning of this stress had chafed to the internal and exteral demand fort the human body in medical area. All the stumulants which make stress was called as j stressor. When animals get stress blucose excreted from liver to adapt for the emergent state ant some related hormone secrete convert protein and lipid to glucose for the purpose of energy supply to muscle. As a results heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate are increased and musclse are strengthed. These physiolgical reactions ate controlled by autonomic nerve system under the control of hyothalamus in brain. Autonomic nerve system and endocrinary system are react harmoiously to stress reaction. According to the stress reaction, adrenomedullary system are stimulated, and epinephrine, morepinephrine are exceted. Author experimented the effect of the immobilizational stress to rat by analyzing the variaition of catecholamine secrction, the Na concentration and the effect of the antistresf effect by Panax Ginseng which is a traditional Korean herb medicine. The concentration of the norepinephrine, epinephrin, and dopamin in normal rat are 1 578 ng/ml, 0.365 ng/ml, and 0.731 ng/ml respectively, but in the immobilyzed stress groIn the concentration were increased to 1.915 ng.ml, 0.854 ng/ml, and 2,361 ng/ml which she the high show the higher concentration of catecholamine to stressor.

"Chimumchang" seems to be a kind eczema. The cause and symptom of eczema is similar to that of chimumchang. so, I investigated the literatures of oriental medicin and recent medicine. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Chimumchang seems to be a kind of eczema. Allergic contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatits, neurodermatitis, nummular dermatitis, xerotic eczema and so on are similar to chimumchang on cause & symptom. 2. The cause of chimumchang are summer vital energy excess(夏脈太過), sehwa excess(歲火太過), herat meridian wind-heat(心經風熱), heart fire(心火), wind taken spleen dampnees(脾濕受風), and so on. The cause of eczema are contact of external agent, immunological problem, heridity, infection, abnormalities of sebaceous glands, neurologic dysfuction, and so on. 3. The symptoms of chimumchang have been described to the three pattern on literature of oriental medicine until now. 1) scratching slightly, It has exudation, and combination. 2) Vital energy on skin is irritable by psychological problem. At the acute stage the patient is complain of itching & pain, and gradually the exudation expands in whole body. 3) early peorid it's size is very small, and at first the patient is complain of itching, later complain of pain. The exudation change to ulcer and expands in the whole body. 4. In the investigation of prescription(Total: 34, Oral medicine: 4, Ointment: 30), the most frequently used oral medicine is sungmatang(4 times), and the most frequently used ointment are kohosan, korvunsan and kegwanhyuldobang.
The regulator of calcineurin (RCAN) was first reported as a novel gene called DSCR1, encoded in a region termed the Down syndrome critical region (DSCR) of human chromosome 21. Genome sequence comparisons across species using bioinformatics revealed three members of the RCAN gene family, RCAN1, RCAN2, and RCAN3, present in most jawed vertebrates, with one member observed in most invertebrates and fungi. RCAN is most highly expressed in brain and striated muscles, but expression has been reported in many other tissues, as well, including the heart and kidneys. Expression levels of RCAN homologs are responsive to external stressors such as reactive oxygen species, Ca2+, amyloid β, and hormonal changes and upregulated in pathological conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, cardiac hypertrophy, diabetes, and degenerative neuropathy. RCAN binding to calcineurin, a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent phosphatase, inhibits calcineurin activity, thereby regulating different physiological events via dephosphorylation of important substrates. Novel functions of RCANs have recently emerged, indicating involvement in mitochondria homeostasis, RNA binding, circadian rhythms, obesity, and thermogenesis, some of which are calcineurin-independent. These developments suggest that besides significant contributions to DS pathologies and calcineurin regulation, RCAN is an important participant across physiological systems, suggesting it as a favorable therapeutic target.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the first aid knowledge and education requirements of physical therapists in a clinical setting. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was distributed to 280 physical therapists in Daejeon, Gwangju, and Seoul from July to December, 2016. Using only completed questionnaires, 201 responses were analyzed using IBM SPSS 23.0 program. Results: In the first aid knowledge, time to resuscitate heart after cardiac arrest and sprain had 91.0% and 99.0%, respectively, whereas partial respiratory obstruction and diabetes mellitus had 25.4% and 18.9%, respectively. The subjects working at advanced general hospitals(62.17) had significantly higher scores that those at general hospitals(53.82). The subjects who experienced first aid education(59.16) had significantly higher points that those without first aid education(53.24). Regarding their requirements of first aid education, 64.0% replied that they wanted to learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator, poisoning, burn, and frostbite were low educational requirements. Conclusion: It is necessary to provide repeated first aid training that helps physical therapists in the field have sufficient first aid knowledge and increase that knowledge over time.
Objectives : This study explores perspectives, reasons, functions of dreams in order to develop a treatment model. Methods : We searched CNKI, KISS, NDSL. Papers published since 2002, which are classified in categories. Results : 1. The Recognitions about the dream of Oriental Medicine is based on "Hwangjenaegyeong Eumsabalmong(黃帝內經 淫邪發夢)". 2. By each era, There are a variety of etiological causes, stages. 3. Dreams are generated by the internal stimuli Physiological activities of the Jangbu(臟腑),Deficiencies of yin and yang(陰陽), Pathological changes in the Jangbu(臟腑), Pathology products, external stimuli Yukeum(六淫), Eumsiksang(飮食傷), and unusual feelings. 4. Spirit(神) comes from brain(腦), not heart(心). So what we call brain spirit(腦神) is right. Dreams are the mental activity related to the brain. 5. Dreams are the reflection of the pathological changes of the human body. And it shows the development, changes and prognosis of disease. Dreams sometimes illustrate the incidence of the disease Conclusions : We organized perspectives, Causes and Functions of dreams mentioned in Oriental Medicine Literatures. Health is closely related to the dream. Therefore, we propose that the dream is worth for the diagnosis and treatment in oriental medicine.
