Purpose: This study examined the effects of fast walking training on a treadmill on the spinal alignment and muscle thickness of normal adults. Methods: A total of 36 college students in their twenties participated in the study for eight weeks, and they were divided into the normal walking, fast walking, and speed change groups. All the groups were measured in a pre-test before training. The subjects performed exercise three times per week for six weeks. A post-test was conducted six weeks after training began, and a follow-up test was done two weeks after the training ended.Trunk and pelvic tilts were measured in Formetric 4D for the spinal alignment of the subjects. The muscle thickness was examined in the trunk with an ultrasound test. Repeated-measures ANOVA was conducted to test the main effects and interactions among the measurement variables according to time and group. Results: Significant differences were observed in the pelvic tilt according to time. There were significant differences in the external oblique, internal oblique, transverse abdominal muscle according to time. The post-test results showed significant differences in the left external oblique, internal oblique muscles between before training, six weeks into training, and two weeks after the completion of training. There were significant interactions in the left oblique muscles according to the time and group. Conclusion: These findings have some value for patient rehabilitation and clinical applications and interventions through walking training.
The development of Semantic Web basically requires knowledge induced from the formalization and semantization of information, and thus ontology should be introduced as a knowledgization tool. URI(Universal Resource Identifier) is an indispensible scheme to uniquely indicate individuals on ontology. However, it is difficult to find the use cases of URI in real data including science and technology papers. This paper describes the method to construct internal and external human resource information based on URI from the papers. We use co-authors, e-mails, publication date, and affiliation for discriminating authors with the same strings. HRST(Human Resources devoted to Science and Technology) is referred to acquire URIs for human resource. We expect the internal and external human resource information would be adopted to outcome analysis applications such as researcher network analysis and outcome statistics.

Cyclotron-accelerated ion beams are used for various researches, such as nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, biotechnology, and material sciences including radio-isotope production. Recently considerable applications are asked to the cyclotron development undertaken to meet user requirements of various ions'energies, intensities, and their pulsed beams. For instance, a cocktail beam acceleration technique rapidly changing the ion species and energies was developed to irradiating integrated circuit chips. Also a chopping system in a cyclotron injection line is considered for producing a pulsed ion beam with a relatively long period compared with that generated by the resonance frequency. For the research in neutron time-of-flight measurement, a single-pulsed beam with a repetition interval of the order of mili-seconds or longer is necessary to have a good resolution and to remove background events. In this paper a feasibility of pulsed beam with an external ion source is simulated by adopting a combination system of a chopper accompanying with a bunching stage in the injection line and an additional chopper after the exit of the cyclotron in order to produce beam pulses with a range of $1{\mu}s{\sim}1ms$ periods from a resonance RF cycle. The pulseperiod will be adjusted by chopping the number of beam bunches from the injected pulses in the injection line. However, the longer pulses will have reduced number of beam pulses and sacrificed beam currents. Because the beam users need an intense single pulsed beam, a careful tuning of the acceleration phase and a high-intense external ion source are necessary to achieve an intense single-pulsed beam from the cyclotron. It is essential to strictly match the acceleration phase of injected beams in the central region of the cyclotron to improve its efficiency. An effect of space charge at each pulse from the ion source will be also considered.

Computational multibody models of the elbow can provide a versatile tool to study joint mechanics, cartilage loading, ligament function and the effects of joint trauma and orthopaedic repair. An efficiently developed computational model can assist surgeons and other investigators in the design and evaluation of treatments for elbow injuries, and contribute to improvements in patient care. The purpose of this study was to develop an anatomically correct elbow joint model and validate the model against experimental data. The elbow model was constrained by multiple bundles of non-linear ligaments, three-dimensional deformable contacts between articulating geometries, and applied external loads. The developed anatomical computational models of the joint can then be incorporated into neuro-musculoskeletal models within a multibody framework. In the approach presented here, volume images of two cadaver elbows were generated by computed tomography (CT) and one elbow by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to construct the three-dimensional bone geometries for the model. The ligaments and triceps tendon were represented with non-linear spring-damper elements as a function of stiffness, ligament length and ligament zero-load length. Articular cartilage was represented as uniform thickness solids that allowed prediction of compliant contact forces. As a final step, the subject specific model was validated by comparing predicted kinematics and triceps tendon forces to experimentally obtained data of the identically loaded cadaver elbow. The maximum root mean square (RMS) error between the predicted and measured kinematics during the complete testing cycle was 4.9 mm medial-lateral translational of the radius relative to the humerus (for Specimen 2 in this study) and 5.30 internal-external rotation of the radius relative to the humerus (for Specimen 3 in this study). The maximum RMS error for triceps tendon force was 7.6 N (for Specimen 3).
In this study, a 40 GHz band pass filter(BPF) employing a hair-pin structure has been designed, fabricated, and characterized for millimeter-wave wireless communication applications. Using the 3 dimensional(3-D) electromagnetic(EM) tool and design equations of the hairpin BPF, the BPF was desgned on the 5 mil-thick Duroid substrate(RT5880) with a relative dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}_r$) of 2.2. The tapping point (t) of the U-shape resonator in the input and output port has been determined using extracted an external Q-factor ($Q_e$). The coupling coefficients between the other resonators are calculated by adjusting the physical dimensions for the desired response of the BPF. The fabricated BPF was characterized using probing method on a probe station. Its measured center frequency(fc) and fractional BW are 41.6 GHz and 7.43 %, respectively. The measured return loss is below -10 dB at the pass band and the insertion loss is 3.87 dB. The fabricated BPF is as small as $9.1{\times}2.8mm^2$.
Since protein subcellular location and biological function are highly correlated, the prediction of protein subcellular localization can provide information about the function of a protein. In order to enhance the prediction performance, external information other than amino acids sequence information is actively exploited in many researches. This paper compares the prediction capabilities resided in amino acid sequence similarity, protein profile, gene ontology, motif, and textual information. In the experiments using PLOC dataset which has proteins less than 80% sequence similarity, sequence similarity information and gene ontology are effective information, achieving a classification accuracy of 94.8%. In the experiments using BaCelLo IDS dataset with low sequence similarity less than 30%, using gene ontology gives the best prediction accuracies, 93.2% for animals and 86.6% for fungi.
This paper describes a dual frequency synthesizer designed in a 0.2$\mu$m CMOS technology for wireless LAN applications. The design is focused mainly on low-power characteristics. Power dissipation is minimized especially in VCO and prescaler design. The designed synthesizer includes all building blocks for elimination of external components, other than the crystal. Its operating frequency can be programmed by external data. It operates in the frequency range of 2.3GHz to 2.7GHz (RF) and 250MHz to 800MHz (IF) and consumes 5.14mA at 2.5GHz and 1.08mA at 0.5GHz from a 2.5V supply. The measured phase noise is -85dBc/Hz in-band and -105dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset at IF band. The die area is 1.7mm$\times$1.7mm.

In order to realize economical applications, it is important to reduce the ac loss of 2G high-temperature superconductor coated conductors. It seems to be reasonable that a multi-filamentary wire can decrease the magnetization loss. In this study, we prepared two samples of YBCO coated conductors with striations. We measured local superconducting properties of both samples by using Low Temperature Scanning Laser and Hall Probe Microscopy (LTSLHPM). The distribution of the local critical temperature of samples was analyzed from experimental results of Low Temperature Scanning Laser Microscopy (LTSLM) near the superconducting transition temperature. According to LTSLM results, spatial distributions of the local critical temperature of both samples are homogeneous. The local current density and the local magnetization in samples were explored from measuring stray fields by using Scanning Hall Probe Microscopy (SHPM). From SHPM results, the remanent field pattern of the one bridge sample in an external magnetic field confirms the Bean's critical state model and the three bridge sample has similar remanent field pattern of the one bridge sample. The local magnetization curve in the three bridge sample was measured from external fields from -500 Oe to 500 Oe. We visualized that the distribution of local hysteresis loss are related in the distribution of the remanent field of the three bridge sample. Although the field dependence of the critical current density must be taken into account, the relation of the local hysteresis loss and the remanent field from Bean's model was useful.

Most of deblocking filters assumes that the block boundaries are accurately known and the coding information like quantization parameters are available. In some applications such as commercial television, however, many external video inputs without known block boundary and coding information arc given. If a decompressed video sequence heavily degraded with blocking artifacts is given through the external video port, it is absolutely necessary to detect block boundaries and control the strength of deblocking filtering by analysing the given images. This paper presents an efficient method to find the block boundaries and estimate the strength of the blocking artifacts without the knowledge of coding information. In addition, the confidence of the estimated blocking artifact information is also evaluated to control the adaptive deblocking filter robustly. Experiment results show that the estimated block boundary locations and strength relative strength and confidence information are practically good enough to reduce the blocking artifacts without prior knowledge.
Purpose : The solar shading device carries out roles in a reduction of the cooling load and an improvement of the thermal comfort of occupants by adjusting incident solar radiation. In addition, The shading device enhances the visual sensation comfort by controlling the optical properties. In order to improve building performance and comfort of occupancy, interests in application of the shading devices are getting increasing. This study investigated the application and effectiveness of the external shading device design using statistical analysis. The outcome of this paper could be utilized for the realization of status quo and for an estimation of effectiveness of the shading device Method : The period of data gathering was between 2003 and 2014 and total 459 cases of practical building project were investigated. Firstly, this study defined qualification of the shading devices; the shading device should have minimum protruding lengths of 150mm to outside and have the function of shading control. This paper investigated application rate of the shading device in real project, regional rate of application, annual change of application, materials and types. Result : The statistical analysis showed that the application rate of shading devices was 25.7% in total 459 building design projects. The application rate in central and southern region was 25.3% and 27.0% respectively. Meanwhile, Jeju region showed 22.2%, which was the lowest rate although this area needs more shading devices. The application number of the shading device was the smallest in 2007, but the rate gradually increased after that. The applications was the largest in 2014 due to growing interest of the shading devices in the building.
