  • Stresses are solved for two parallel cracks in an infinite orthotropic plate during passage of incoming shock stress waves normal to their surfaces. Fourier transformations were used to reduce the boundary conditions with respect to the cracks to two pairs of dual integral equations in the Laplace domain. To solve these equations, the differences in the crack surface displacements were expanded to a series of functions that are zero outside the cracks. The unknown coefficients in the series were solved using the Schmidt method so as to satisfy the conditions inside the cracks. The stress intensity factors were defined in the Laplace domain and were inverted numerically to physical space. Dynamic stress intensity factors were calculated numerically for selected crack configurations.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the most effective numerical scheme to calculate the unsteady flows. In order to calculate the flow quantities of flow past a circular cylinder, Three-time level and five convective schemes are applied to unsteady and convective terms, respectively. The values obtained are compared with those from the existing experimental and numerical studies. At Reynolds numbers up to 160, time intervals can be expanded 10 times of Implicit Euler scheme using Three-time level method, and it is found that QUICK and CUI schemes work much stable than others even if less grid density conditions. The combination of Three-time level and QUICK scheme gives high resolutions for laminar unsteady problems with PC level.

  • Posbist reliability of typical systems is preliminarily discussed in Cai (1991). In this paper, we focus on the posbist reliability analysis of some typical systems in depth. First, the lifetime of the system is dealt as a fuzzy variable defined on the possibility space (U, ${\phi}$, $P_{oss}$) and the universe of discourse is expanded from (0, $+{\infty}$) to ($-{\infty},\;+{\infty}$). Then, a concrete possibility distribution function of the fuzzy variable is given, i.e., a Gaussian fuzzy variable. Finally, posbist reliability of typical systems (series, parallel, series-parallel, parallel-series, cold redundant system) is deduced. The expansion makes the proofs of some theorems straightforward and allows us to easily obtain the posbist reliability of typical systems. To illustrate the method a numerical example is given.

  • Monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against human alpha-fetoprotein (AFPI was produced by hybridizing SP 210-Ag 14 mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells of Balb/c mice immunized with purified AFP. Two subclones (D-6 and I-6) were expanded as ascite tumors in svngenic mice, and from ascitic fluid immunoglbulins were Pruified. Each anibodv was identified to be homogeneous by several criteria, and the affinity constant of D-6 and I-6 MAb to AEP was calculated to be 4.2${\times}$10-8 and 6.4${\times}$10-8 M-1, respectively. With these MAbs sensitive and accurate enzyme linked immunosorbent assay method was established.

  • A theory of bidirectional reflectance-distribution function (BRDF), a newly developed BRDF measurement system, and a method for evaluating the uncertainty of BRDF measurements are presented. The BRDF measurement system which measures BRDF in a wavelength range of (380~1500) nm with an angle range of $(-75{\sim}75)^{\circ}$ was installed. The measurement uncertainties, consisting of correlated terms and uncorrelated terms, were evaluated for the BRDF measurement system, resulting in the relative expanded uncertainty less than 3% (k=2).

  • The fractional slot windings are widely used in rotating machine in order to increase the flexibility of design and improve the voltage waveform. However, the MMF wave of fractional-slot windings are found to contain unique harmonic component, which are designated as even order space flux harmonics, fractional number flux harmonics, or both. They may cause stray loss and stator core vibration. This paper proposes new winding methods "novel interspersed windings" and "expanded group windings" to reduce these harmonics. The advantages of two proposed windings are verified by using numerical analysis and measurement test of winding model.

  • The Rapid Expansion of supercritical fluid Solutions (RESS) process was applied to particles coating. Experiments were conducted in a fluidized bed with an internal nozzle in the center of the reaction tube. Microcapsules (mean particle size : 49$\mu\textrm{m}$) prepared by spray drying method were used as the core particles. Supercritical CO2 solutions of paraffin were expanded through the nozzle in to the bed that was fluidized by air. Surface morphology prepared particles was observed by SEM. For the inspection of particle size change, particle size distributions were measured before and after coating. The releasing behavior of Mg2+ ions inspected by AA.

  • Low cost composite metallic membranes for the hydrogen separation and production have been prepared by using thin Pd-Ag foils reinforced by metallic (stainless steel and nickel) structures. Especially, “supported membranes” have been obtained by a diffusion welding procedure in which Pd-Ag thin foils have been joined with perforated metals (nickel) and expanded metals (stainless steel): in these membranes the thin palladium foil assures both the high hydrogen permeability and the perm-selectivity while the metallic support provides the mechanical strength. A second studied method of producing "laminated membranes" consists of coating non-noble metal sheets with very thin palladium layers by diffusion welding and cold-rolling. Palladium thin coatings over these metals reduce the activation energy of the hydrogen adsorption process and make them permeable to the hydrogen. In this case, the dense non-noble metal has been used as a support structure of the thin Pd-Ag layers coated over its surfaces: a proper thickness of the metal assures the mechanical strength, the absence of defects (cracks, micro-holes) and the complete hydrogen selectivity of the membrane. membrane.

  • In this paper, high resolution spectral estimation by AR modelling and principal comonent analysis is proposed. The given data can be expanded by the eigenvectors of the estimated covariance matrix. The eigenspectrum is obtained for each eigenvector using the Autoressive(AR) spectral estimation technique. The final spectrum estimate is obtained by weighting each eigenspectrum with the corresponding eigenvalue and summing them. Although the proposed method increases in computational complexity, it shows good frequency resolution especially for short data records and narrow-band data whose signal-to-noise ratio is low.
