Smart sensing plays a key role in a variety of IoT applications, and its importance is growing more and more together with the development of artificial intelligence. Therefore the importance of smart sensors cannot be overemphasized. However, most studies related to smart sensors have been focusing on specific application purposes, for example, security, energy saving, monitoring, and there are not much effort on researches on how to efficiently configure various types of smart sensors to be needed in the future. In this paper, a component-based framework with hierarchical structure for efficient construction of smart sensor is proposed and its application to smart home is designed and implemented. The proposed method shows that various types of smart sensors to be appeared in the near future can be configured through the design and development of necessary components within the proposed software framework. In addition, since it has a layered architecture, the configuration of the smart sensor can be expanded by inserting the internal or external layers. In particular, it is possible to independently design the internal and external modules when designing an IoT application service through connection with the external device layer. A small-scale smart home system is designed and implemented using the proposed method, and a home cloud operating as an external layer, is further designed to accommodate and manage multiple smart homes. By developing and thus adding the components of each layer, it will be possible to efficiently extend the range of applications such as smart cars, smart buildings, smart factories an so on.

Atrial fibrillation is needed to be detected at paroxysmal stage and to be treated. But, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation ECG is hardly obtained with 12-lead electrocardiographs but Holter systems. Presently, the averaged beat subtraction(ABS) method is solely used to estimate atrial fibrillatory waves even with somewhat large residual error. As an alternative, in this study, we suggested an ESAF(event-synchronous adaptive filter) based algorithm, in which the AF ECG was treated as a primary input and event-synchronous impulse train(ESIT) as a reference. And, ESIT was generated so to be synchronized with the ventricular activity by detecting QRS complex. We tested proposed algorithm with simulated AF ECGs and real AF ECGs. As results, even with low computational cost, this ESAF based algorithm showed better performance than the ABS method and comparable performance to algorithm based on PCA(principal component analysis) or SVD(singular value decomposition). We also proposed an expanded version of ESAF for some AF ECGs with multi-morphologic ventricular activities and this also showed reasonable performance. Ultimately, with Holter systems including our proposed algorithm, atrial activity signal can be precisely estimated in real-time so that it will be possible to calculate atrial fibrillatory rate and to evaluate the effect of anti-arrhythmic drugs.
To increase the structural integrity of concrete box culvert good compaction by the dynamic compaction roller with bi9 capacity is as effective as good backfill materials. It is needed for effective compaction that a compaction roller closes to concrete structure with high frequency. However structural distress of the culvert could be occur due to the excessive earth pressure by great dynamic compaction load. To investigate the characteristics of Induced stress by compaction, a box culvert was constructed with changing cushion materials and compaction methods. Two types of cushion material such as tire rubber chip and EPS(Expanded Polystyrene) were used as cushion panels and they are set on the culverts before backfill construction. Laboratory test result of cushion material says that the value of dynamic elastic modulus of rubber is lesser than that of EPS. On the other hand, material damping of rubber material is greater than that of EPS. In most case, dynamic compaction rollers with 10.5 ton weights were used and vibration frequency was applied 30Hz for the great compaction energy. This paper presents the main results on the characteristics of dynamic earth pressures during compaction. The amounts of induced dynamic pressures$(\Delta\sigma\;h)$ by compaction are affected with construction condition such as compaction frequency, depth of pressure cell, distance between roller and the wall of culvert and roller direction. Based on the measured values dynamic lateral pressure on the culverts, it could be said that orthogonal direction of roller to the length of culvert is more effective to compaction efficiency than parallel direction.
As the digital information infrastructure is established for the public library system in the contemporary age, expectations and demands surrounding the public library system are growing rapidly as the place of exchange and enjoyment of information and culture, and as the place of life-long learning. In addition, a new kind of information & culture services are needed to meet the demands of contemporary men and women, who are exploring information as the information environment undergoes rapid changes - from increase in the volume of digital publications, to increase in the usefulness of online information resources, to strides made in the media industry. The public library will continue to play its role and function by providing to all users all available information, whether it's available online or offline, whether it's in a physical format or in a digital format. As such, design and management of a space appropriate as a new information environment are needed. It is deemed that an information infrastructure for Daegu that can improve the quality of life in the region and can increase user accessibility to information in this information age is needed, as well as reorganization of the pertinent environment. Therefore more public libraries have to be built in Daegu as a necessity, and it is urgently needed that the information services be expanded through an organic linkage between local libraries such as between the central library and the branch libraries. This paper aims to provide basic data for building of public libraries in Daegu. To establish an information infrastructure for Daegu, a direction is given for the establishment of a local network of public libraries and ways for improvement are explored. This paper is significant in that, first, it helps in the planning of a local network of public libraries, which plays a crucial role in improving accessibility to information as well as the level of their use; and second, it helps in setting up guidelines for spatial configuration of the user space. As for the method, quantitative review of the information environment is to be done by analyzing the present situation of the public library network in Daegu from the perspectives of region, facility, and space, in order to present a method of user-centered spatial configuration that meets the changes in social roles and forms of information in the contemporary society.
Pt catalyst was adsorbed on Carbon nanofiber (CNF) by modified polyol method after acid treatment of the carbon support with $HNO_3$ and $H_{2}SO_{4}$. As the time for acid treatment increases, more oxygen functional groups on carbon surface were produced which improve the loading amount and dispersion of Pt catalyst on carbon supports. In order to inspect the effect of CNF acid treatment time on electrochemical corrosion, constant potential of 1.4 V was applied to a single cell for 30 min and the amount of $CO_2$ emitted was monitored with on-line mass spectrometry. According to the results of our experiment, more $CO_2$ was produced with Pt/ oxidized-CNF catalyst in compared to that with unoxidized-CNF. Increasing acid treatment time also induces the more $CO_2$ emission. Besides, performance degradation after corrosion test expanded with severer carbon corrosion. From the observed results, it can be concluded that the acid treatment of CNF is beneficial to catalyst loading, but it also is a significant factor declining the fuel cell durability by accelerating electrochemical oxidation of carbon support.
Fires in buildings built using sandwich panels are difficult to extinguish, and the damage caused by the fire spreading through the inner core material is extensive. Sandwich panels consist of a nonflammable material on both sides of an insulation material. The types of insulation material include organic and inorganic insulation materials, but the former are used in more than 80% of the case. Organic insulation is economically advantageous compared to inorganic insulation, but it is vulnerable to fire. Therefore, the damage caused by sandwich panel fires is higher than that for general fires. In the case of the noxious gas analyzer test, the panel is tested with three round holes having a diameter of 25 mm, in order to determine the risk of the core material, but the cone calorimeter test is carried out using a sandwich panel. In this study, the cone calorimeter test was conducted to examine the fire risk of the composite material when heated on a nonflammable surface, exposed to the core material through a hole, and heated directly the core material. The type of organic insulation employed was flame retardant EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), and the test specimens were tested in three types of sandwich panel, a perforated sandwich panel and single core material. The purpose of this study is to propose a method of measuring the fire risk of the core materials of composite materials using the cone calorimeter test.
In order to promote national competition on knowledge based-society in 21centuries, it is important for us to train talented people who have much creativity. Comparing curriculums and contents studied in SECG (Science Education Center for the Gifted) and other organizations is object of this thesis. Finding implications of proper GATE(gifted and talented education) by understanding the present conditions is also a part of this thesis. We select 5 Science Education Centers for the Gifted and devise framework for analysis in order to analyze chemical textbooks in GATE programs. The framework consists of 6 categories including the contents, the level of activities, the opening extent of experiments, and the ability to think creatively. In our study of textbooks, we have found that the contents of chapters are divided properly but lacked the field of frontier and convergence science. Their activity types will have to develop programs which consist of various activities such as lectures and experiments. Precedent studies and study activities to promote scientific thinking were rated highly in general ratio. The level of studies that we analyzed lacked creative activities very much. In the opening extent of experiments, activities in the level 2 and the level 3 were low-rate. And in our study of thinking creatively, activities of promotion for expanded and related-ability to think seemed to lack. In order to achieve specific education for the gifted children, developments of GATE program is required. In the in-depth analysis from the questionnaires of Likert's method's descriptions, narrations, and interviews, it is divided into two answers in depth: contents of program, management of program. These also divided into two answers by attitude: positive answer or negative answer. According to the responses of the contents of program, the result of analysis shows that most respondents have positive reactions to not only contents and the managing method of SECG programs, but also to individual enhancing-abilities overall.
Recently, LNG receiving terminals have been widely constructed and expanded for an increase in LNG demand. Selection of the storage tank for send-out and estimation of send-out flow rate have significant influence to process operation and economics. In this study, a send-out flow rate of each storage tank is optimized in order to minimize the total BOG generation rate. Considering a size and characteristic of each storage tanks, BOG flow rates are estimated using a dynamic simulation with varying liquid levels in the tanks. The regression model is developed fitting BOG flow rates and tank liquid levels, which are boil off rate model to predict BOG flow rates with particular level data. The objective function and constraints including required total send-out flow rate and level limit in the tanks are formulated to optimize a send-out flow rate of each tank. This method for optimization of send-out operation is applied to the Incheon LNG receiving terminal considering two scenarios for various liquid levels and maximum and minimum required send-out flow rates. For maximum required send-out flow rate, this method achieves BOG reduction of 9% comparing with assumed conventional operation.
The purpose of this study was to perform a content analysis on 62 domestic and international journals from 1998 to 2017, in order to review research trends in music and people with visual impairments. The framework of the content analysis was based on the year of publication, field of journal, research method, type of research, research subject, participants' age, and factors of impairment. The results showed that both domestic and international journals have rapidly increased in the last 10 years, and have expanded into the fields of education and therapy. In the research method, survey research was conducted much more frequently in domestic journals, while both qualitative and experimental research were employed on a roughly even basis in international journals. With respect to the type and subject of research, music perception and recent trends on the subject of musical interest and aptitude took up the majority of domestic journals, while international journals focused on music intervention, music perception and cognition with musical influences and experiences. The participants in both domestic and international journals were children, adolescents and adults, while the elderly were not observed. In the factors of impairment, research on people with total blindness or low vision were conducted frequently, but those with adventitious vision loss or multiple impairments were rarely performed. This study could be meaningful to suggest the direction of further studies, through the investigation of research trends in music and people with visual impairments.

The national land use plan that targets the whole national land and all kinds of urban plans that targets a city or a part of city must be performed continuously now and after that. Therefore, the importance of land use plan, that is included in those plans, is very big and crucial. This study scrutinizes the detail zoning land suitability analysis which bases on urban basis plan and the GSIS application plan about allocation, applied various basic theory which is arranged in that course to study area, and try to develop the land use suitability analysis system, a application system The programing language used in system development is the AML of ARC/INFO. On this study, the results divide into four parts. First, we develop the land use suitability analysis system and can simplify and automatize a complicated analysis course and this system will be more useful to the land use suitability analysis. Second, the analysis range is expanded, considering the circumstance environmental factor of planning area outside. So we can implement more comprehensive analysis. Third, we apply a precedency conception and a legal restrictive element that base on urban characteristics and urban space structure theory to this study, develop a computerized method about distributive method, and can allocate the detail zone in the various ways. Finally, the next studies that can clear the detail zone suitability criteria and the correlation of the relationship of materials are essential to improve the accuracy and confidence in this analysis.
