출입문용 자동개폐장치를 설치한 실내체육관의 피난안전성 분석 (Analysis of the Evacuation Safety of Indoor Stadiums with Automatic Opening/Closing Exit Installations)

  • This study analyzed the evacuation time in indoor stadiums when exits that automatically open/close when the fire sensor is triggered are installed as a means to improve the problem of closing certain exits. Firstly, when spectators on the 2nd floor stands exit through the 1st floor exits, the RSET of all inhabitants was 529.8 seconds when the automatic opening/closing exits are broken and employees are not present. Secondly, when spectators on the 2nd floor stands exit through the 1st floor exits, the RSET of all inhabitants was 445 seconds when the automatic opening/closing exits with 750mm width are working but employees are not present. Lastly, when spectators on the 2nd floor stands exit through the 1st floor exits, the RSET of all spectators was 337 seconds when the automatic opening/closing exits with 1,500mm width are working and employees are present. As a result, it was revealed that the evacuation time is shortened when the automatic opening/closing exits are working. Additional comparative studies with actual simulations of people evacuating an indoor stadium and firefighting simulations considering smoke flow are necessary.

IPO/M&A Exits by Venture Capital in India: Do Agency Risks Matter?

  • Venture Capital Firms (VCs) encounter severe information asymmetry risks at almost every stage in their investment lifecycle. This paper explores the agency risks arising from information asymmetry during the stage of exits by VCs from the funded companies in their portfolio and how that impacts the incidence of specific types of type of exits (IPOs/M&As). In this empirical study, by using the data on IPO and M&A exits from venture capital-funded companies, we show how the ability of prospective buyers to better resolve agency risks is directly correlated with the incidence of the above exit types. Using the technique of logistic regression, we demonstrate that factors such as syndication, specialization focus of the VC firm (in terms of stage and sector) and the level of its social capital (proxied by its age and experience) drive the success rate of exits. This is one of first studies in context of exits from VC funded companies in the Indian context.

이차원 다중젯트의 유동 및 열전달 특성의 수치적 해석(I) -돌출열원이 없는 경우의 유동특성- (A Numerical Analysis of Flow and Beat Transfer Characteristics of a Two-Dimensional Multi-Impingement Jet(I))

  • A numerical study for a two dimensional multi-jet with crossflow of the spent fluid has been carried out. Three different distributions of mass-flow rate at 5 jet exits were assumed to see their effects upon the flow characteristics, especially in the jet-flow region. For each distribution, various Reynolds numbers ranging from laminar to turbulent flows were considered. Calculations drew the following items as conclusion. 1) The development of the free jets issued from downstream jets was hindered by the crossflow formed due to jets. Consequently, the free jet was developed into the channel flow without any evident symptom of impingement jet flow characteristics 2) The crossflow induced the pressure gradient along the cross section of jet exits and the value of the pressure gradient increased as going downstream. The crossflow generated also the turbulent kinetic energy as it collied with the downstream jets. 3) The skin friction coefficient along the impingement plate was affected more by the distribution of mass flow rate at jet exits rather than by the Reynolds number. The skin friction coefficient was inversely proportional to the square root of the Reynolds number, regardless of flow regime when a fully developed flow was formed in the jet flow region. 4) The distribution of the skin friction coefficient along the impingement plate was found to be controlled by adjusting the distribution of mass flow rate at jet exits.

고속탈출유도로 최소 갯수 및 위치 결정 모형 (A Model for Determining the Minimum Number of High Speed Exits and Their Locations for Airports)

  • Proposed are model and its solution algorithm for determining the minimum number of high speed exits and their locations. While the previous researches on exit location aimed to minimize the average runway occuancy time (ROT) of an aircraft mix, the proposed approach is to find the minimum number of exits required to meet maximum allowable ROT. The rationale behind the approach is that the capacity of a runway increases as the ROT decreases down to some value, but not any more even though the ROT keep decreasing below the value. Hence, a maximum allowable ROT might be set up without declining the capacity. The problem is transformed into a shortest path problem on a specially constructed network and Dijkstra's labeling algorithms is employed to solve the problem A hypothetical example is provided to illustrate how the algorithms solves the problem.

두 평행한 관 출구로부터 방출되는 충격파시스템의 수치해석적 가시화 (Numerical Visualization of the Shock Wave System Discharged from the Exits of Two-Parallel Ducts)

  • The present study describes a computational work to investigate detailed behaviors of the twin shock waves discharged from the exits of two-parallel ducts. In computations, the Yee-Roe-Davis's TVD scheme was used to solve the unsteady, three-dimensional, inviscid, compressible, Euler equations. The distance between two ducts is varied and the Mach number of the incident shock wave is changed below 2.0. The results obtained show that on the symmetric axis between two-parallel ducts, the maximum pressure achieved by the merge of twin shock waves and its location strongly depend upon the distance between two-parallel ducts and the Mach number of the incident shock wave. It is also found that the twin shock waves discharged from the exits of two-parallel ducts leads to the complicated flow fields, such as Mach stem, spherical waves, and vertical structures.

취업주부의 역할갈등과 취업중단의사 관련 변수에 대한 연구 (An Analysis of the Factors Related to the Degree of the Role Conflict and the Likelihood of Exits of the Labor Force of Working Wives)

  • The purposes of this study are to identify the factors associated with the degree of role conflict and the likelihood of exits of the labor force of working wives and to investigate the relationship between the role conflict and job quitting behavior of working wives. The major results of this study are as follows. First, the ratio of reservation wage relative to wife's earnings, wife's earnings, husband's behavioral support, the presence of child under age of 6, the type of occupation, and job satisfaction are associated with the role conflict of working wives. Second, there is a significant difference in the job quitting behavior of working wives according to the degree of role conflict of working wives. Third, the level of role conflict, educational level, the ratio of resonation wage relative to wife's earnings, husband's behavioral support, the presence of child under age of 6, the type of occupation, and job satisfaction are associated with the likelihood of job quitting of working wives.

  • Turner and Penn (1) from UCL have proved that Visibility Graph Analysis (VGA) can be used as a more accurate method to predict the pedestrian distribution in building spaces. However, this methodology neglects certain elements that are of special influence on pedestrian distribution in buildings, especially the entrances and exits. Based on Space Syntax, this dissertation improves on the traditional method of Visibility Graph Analysis, using three shopping centers in Shenzhen as examples, attempts to explore a new parameter - "attenuation index of pedestrians at the entrances and exits" - using relevant data of the entrances and exits of the three cases, and combines it with traditional VGA analysis through weighted calculation, in order to provide more accurate predictions of pedestrian patterns in shopping centers.

여성 청년층 집단의 취업이행 형태 연구 (A Study of Work Transition Form of Female Youth)

  • 본 연구에서 여성 청년층 집단의 첫 일자리 진입과, 첫 일자리로 고용조건이 불안정한 비정규직으로 취업한 집단이 이후 이러한 종사상 지위에서 언제 어떠한 지위로 탈출하는가를 동태적 모형을 이용하여 분석하였다. 자료는 한국여성개발원이 2001년에 수집한“제4차 여성의 취업실태조사”의 취업력 자료를 이용하였다. 분석결과 여성 청년층 중 취업으로 이행한 집단은 최종학교를 졸업하고 노동시장으로 이행하는데 약 1.54년의 기간이 걸리는 것으로 나타났다. 경제위기 직후 뿐 아니라 이후의 회복기에도 여성 청년층 집단의 취업이행이 매우 어려워 경제상황이 매우 중요한 요인임을 알 수 있다. 고졸 여성 중 인문계졸업자의 취업이행이 어려우며 대졸자 역시 취업이행이 원만하지 않아 졸업장 효과가 더 이상 나타나지 않는 것으로 나타났고 오히려 자격증이나 취업에 대한 태도보다는 전공만족도가 높을수록 취업으로 이행할 확률을 높이는 것으로 나타났다 첫 일자리로 고용조건이 불안정한 비정규직으로 취업한 집단 중 50%만이 이러한 지위에서 탈출하였다. 학력과 세대효과가 뚜렷하여 대졸여성일수록 젊은 세대일수록 비정규직 상태에서 탈출할 확률이 높았다. 정규직으로의 탈출에는 대학의 전공계열, 비정규직 취업과 학업의 병행 여부가 영향을 미치며, 미취업상태로의 탈출에는 처음 취업한 업종이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

중고령층 자영업 이탈 요인 분석: 자영업 이탈 이유를 중심으로 (A Study on Determinants of the Elderly's Self-employment Exits - Focusing on why they exit from their owned business)

  • 본 연구는 중고령층 자영업 이탈에 영향을 주는 요인을 자영업 이탈 이유를 고려하여 분석하였다. 분석에는 고령화 연구 패널(KLoSA)의 1~6차 및 직업력 자료를 이용하였다. 자영업 이탈 이유 중 경영상 어려움으로 인해 이탈한 집단이 다른 이유로 이탈한 집단보다 경제적 어려움에 처할 가능성이 큼에 따라 이들을 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석 모형으로는 경영상 어려움으로 인한 이탈만을 실패로 정의하는 경쟁위험회귀모형(competing risk regression models)을 이용하였다. 그 결과, 자영업 이탈 요인으로 알려졌던 성별, 연령, 학력 변수의 유의성이 사라졌다. 반면 동종 산업 경력이 자영업 이탈 위험률을 낮추는 경향이 있음을 확인하였다. 이에 따라 경제적 어려움과 실업에 직면할 위험이 큰 자영업 이탈을 방지하기 위해서는 동종 산업 내 경력이 부족한 채로 자영업을 시작하는 중고령층을 지원하는 방안이 필요함을 제시할 수 있다.
