  • Presented in this paper are the results of an analytical investigation pertaining to the elastic buckling behavior of transversely isotropic plate with variable width subjected to unequal uniaxial compression forces at the ends and in-plane shear forces at the sides. The existing analytical solution developed for the isotropic plates is extended so that the transversely isotropic material properties can be taken into account in the plate buckling analyses. For the derivation of buckling equation the power series solution is employed. Graphical forms of results for finding the buckling strength of tapered plates are presented. In addition, the finite element analysis is also conducted. The results are compared and discussed.

  • Computer-mediated communication(CMC) media has various forms through the technical improvements of computer and network, and CMCs communication methods are also comparative free rather than any other existing media without the limitation of time and space. Various CMC media were adopted by a lot of organizations for their communication tool. Thus, it is important to understand relationships of affecting factors to user's communication satisfaction for choosing the effective CMC media in their organizations. In this paper, we identify factors that may affect the communication satisfaction of users that has utilized the CMC media, and validate empirically the relationships between the identified factors in KOPTI. In the research model developed and described herein, perceived media richness was significantly associated with communication satisfaction and perceived usefulness was significantly associated with perceived media richness. Furthermore, perceived ease of use was significantly associated with perceived usefulness.

  • The damages from DDoS attacks are increasing as DDoS attacks are taking various forms. This has resulted not only in decreased reliability of organizations and corporations but also in the threat of national security. Organizations and corporations are making significant efforts in developing a system through which they can appropriately correspond to DDoS attacks. However, the studies on objective index for evaluating the performance of DDoS correspondence are lacking. The majority of the existing studies have been on the information protection & management system on a large scale. Accordingly, the scope of this thesis will be limited to DDoS correspondence to propose correspondence index for quantitatively measuring and managing them. The statistical techniques such as SMART technique and factor analysis will be utilized accordingly.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual conditions of external space of middle and high schools in Gyeongnam Area. This article discuses about the characteristics of the external space and the site plan type of 49 middle and high schools in Gyeongnam Area. The result of analysis about site plan type, composition state of external space and area ratio of its composition of each middle and high school facilities are as follows: In facilities arrangement of middle and high schools, it shows diverse forms of arrangement from existing uniform straight type, however, most of schools do not being against the simple in their external space. Especially, for the area is small in the composition of external space, a playground is only under $50m{\times}80m$ and outdoor learning space or resting space is not secured sufficiently. Therefore, it requires an expansion of space size and facilities for the change of school life outside class.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual condition of external space general high schools newly established or planned in Gyeongnam from 2001 starting the 7th curriculum to 2006. The results of analysis about site plan type, composition state of external space and area ratio of its composition of each high school facilities are as follows: 1) In facilities arrangement of high schools, it shows diverse forms of arrangement from existing uniform straight type, however, most of schools do not being against the simple in their external space. 2) Comparing to traditional high school facilities, it occurs various types of plane and the area is somewhat expanded in the school with same class size, however, it needs to improve facility standards in its reality to deal with the change of future educational environment actively.

  • In characterizing a suspension, heterogenety is included onto the previous characterization using solids concentrations and flocculent characteristics, because of its importance in hydrodynamics. The mechanism of interface formation during the sedimentation of concentrated suspension (thickening) is investigated from a microcosm consisting of four particles in a same plane and a smaller particle below. The critical distances after shich interface forms are calculated as a function of particle size ratio when the small particle is located in the middle of the squre datermined by the large particles. The results shows that the critical separation distance increase as the size ratio approaches to one (homogeneous suspension). This conforms to the trend of existing observations that homogeneous suspensions create the solid-liquid interface at much lower concentration (at al larger separation distance) that the heterogeneous suspensions.

  • A ubiquitous refers to the integration of the existing documentation. cyber space, and high-tech digital technology into a wireless terminal through ubiquitous computing and network technology. With the ubiquitous environment, a library and museum can extend its roles and functions all the more, and expectedly results in internal and external great changes. The purpose of this study was to examine the changed forms and contents of a ubiquitous-library/museum. Specially, We wished to forecast change that occur in museum user service and government official management side.

  • The roof-top of deteriorated building is necessary to improve that performance of waterproof and heat insulation is lowered. However, the existing method is difficult to supply due to complicated process and high cost. Therefore, practical condition and demand for occupant considered, it is necessary to develop inexpensive and easy method, such as a floating floor method using thermal insulation. This study is experiments on foundational experiment was conducted on the bending strength. A polyurethane board for experiment forms a square and it has various size that 25cm, 33cm, 50cm, and 100cm. Meanwhile, the uniform load of 200kg/㎡ which general working load is applied to the bending strength.

  • The increasing integration of public space and consumerism in Hong Kong has yielded new urban forms. The emergent vertical malls in Hong Kong and other East Asian metropolises have overturned the existing vertical order of the city. This vertical order is determined by the level of accessibility, but is being challenged by widely adopted vertical circulation technology. Inspired by Fredric Jameson's and Rem Koolhaas' reflections on the cultural significance of vertical transportation, this article examines the conflict between market logic and urban design requirements in the vertical interior spaces. "Departmentalization," as the current programming formula for vertical malls, can be further optimized by critically applying urban design doctrines such as Kevin Lynch's five elements of city image. It concludes with a statement that the knowledge base of vertical urbanism should be open to a set of new terminology informed by a new technological environment.
