  • A constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) is a general framework that can formalize various application problems in artificial intelligence. In this paper, we will focus on an important subclass of distributed partial CSP called the distributed maximal CSP that can be applied to more practical kinds of problems. Specifically, we propose a method of solving distributed mammal CSPs using a combination of approximate and exact algorithms that yields faster optimal solutions than otherwise possible using conventional methods. Experimental results are presented that demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed new approach.

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce a more efficient forecasting technique, which could help result the reduction of cost in removing the waste of airline in-flight meals. We will use a neural network approach known to many researchers as the “Outstanding Forecasting Technique”. We employed a multi-layer perceptron neural network using a backpropagation algorithm. We also suggested using other related information to improve the forecasting performances of neural networks. We divided the data into three sets, which are training data set, cross validation data set, and test data set. Time lag variables are still employed in our model according to the general view of time series forecasting. We measured the accuracy of our model by “Mean Square Error”(MSE). The suggested model proved most excellent in serving economy class in-flight meals. Forecasting the exact amount of meals needed for each airline could reduce the waste of meals and therefore, lead to the reduction of cost. Better yet, it could enhance the cost competition of each airline, keep the schedules on time, and lead to better service.

  • In this paper, we propose an attractive novel numerical int egration method that is largely devoid of ill conditioning and is suitable for any nonlinear problem. Since the method is exact for linear problems, it is especially precise for quasilinear problems, which are frequently encountered in the real world. The method is based on a new approach to the computat ion of a matrix exponential. It does not require excessive computational resources and lends itself to a short and robust piece of software that can be easily inserted into large simulation packages.

  • Sliding control is a powerful approach to controlling nonlinear and uncertain systems. Conventional sliding mode control suffer' from high control gain and chattering problem. also it needs mathematic! modeling equations for control systems. A Fuzzy controller is endowed with control rules and membership function that are constructed on the knowledge of expert, as like intuition and experience. but It is very difficult to obtain the exact values which are the membership function and consequent parameters. In this paper, without mathematical modeling equations, the plant parameters in sliding mode are estimated by the indirect adaptive fuzzy method. the proposed algorithm could analyze the system's stability and convergence behavior using Lyapunov theory. so sliding modes are reconstructed and decreased tracking error. moreover convergence time took a short. An example of inverted pendulum is given for demonstration of the robustness of proposed methodology.

  • This paper is concerned with shape optimization problems by the boundary element method (BEM) emphasizing the use of a reduced basis reanalysis technique proposed recently by the author. Problems of this class are conventionally carried out iteratively through an optimizer; a sequential quadratic programming-based optimizer is used in this study. The iterative process produces a succession of intermediate designs. Repeated analyses for the systems associated with these intermediate designs using an exact approach such as the LU decomposition method are time consuming if the order of the systems is large. The newly developed reanalysis technique devised for boundary element systems is utilized to enhance the computational efficiency in the repeated system solvings. Presented numerical examples on optimal shape design problems in electric potential distribution and elasticity show that the new reanalysis technique is capable of speeding up the design process without sacrificing the accuracy of the optimal solutions.

  • The time-dependent analysis of prestressed concrete bridges built adopting the incremental launching technique is presented. After summarizing the well known results derived from the elastic analysis, the problem is approached in the visco-elastic domain taking into account the effects consequent to the complex load history affecting the structure. In particular, the effects produced by prestressing applied both in the launching phase and after it and by application of imposed displacements and of delayed restraints during the launching phases are carefully investigated through a refined analytical procedure. The reliability of the proposed algorithm is tested by means of comparisons with reference cases for which exact solutions are known. A case study of general interest is then discussed in detail. This case study demonstrates that a purely elastic approach represents a too crude approximation, which is unable to describe the specific character of the problem.

  • In this article, the generalized thermoelastic theory with fractional derivative is presented to estimate the variation of temperature, the components of stress, the components of displacement and the changes in volume fraction field in two-dimensional porous media. Easily, the exact solutions in the Laplace domain are obtained. By using Laplace and Fourier transformations with the eigenvalues method, the physical quantities are obtained analytically. The numerical results for all the physical quantities considered are implemented and presented graphically. The results display that the present model with the fractional derivative is reduced to the Lord and Shulman (LS) and the classical dynamical coupled (CT) theories when the fractional parameter is equivalent to one and the delay time is equal to zero and respectively.

  • The purpose of reverse engineering design using 3D measurement data is an accurate reconstruction of real body. In oder to accomplish this object, it is important that creating exact extracting edges should be studying out first of all. This study used edge-based method to find out edge point from the measuring point data. The characteristics are analysed using the mean curvature block method on the fitting NURBS curve and defined edges through block removal condition. The results showed that only using the NURBS curve of maximum curvature analysis to define correct edge of real geometry is limited, but this segmentation approach provides simplified necessary condition for edge classification, and an effectiveness to classify a straight line, curves and fillets etc.

  • Recently, there are many corporations, schools and institutes that apply TRIZ to solve technical problems. However, in reality, only a few cases of brainstorming applications exist in utilizing forty principles of TRIZ due to the difficulty at TRIZ problem definition. In order to facilitate TRIZ applications, this study proposes the utilization of requirement definition and description tool of systems engineering in TRIZ problem definition. No requirement definition exists in general problem types that TRIZ approach is used in implementing system solution. At most of problem situations, TRIZ users reversely infer that certain problem belongs to which requirement definition it is and recommends TRIZ tools to be used for the exact problem definition. This study also proposes TRIZ problem definition method by applying the results of requirement definition process. The application of TRIZ is demonstrated to the general situation with no problem definition where the proposed method enables the proper use of TRIZ.

  • Harmonic current originating from electric locomotives can be magnified due to the impedance characteristics of power supply circuit and bring about various problems. That is, electromagnetic interference with communication lines, operational trouble in signaling, overheat and/or vibration in power capacitor, mis-operation in protection relay and so on. Therefore, the exact assessment of the harmonic current flow must be undertaken at design and planning stage for the electric traction systems. For these reasons, this study propose a new approach to model and to analyse traction power feeding system focused on system response to current and voltage harmonic(PART I ). Measurements of harmonics are also performed for railway power supply systems under normal operation. Spectrum and distortion analyses in measurement data are variously described in PART II
