  • The differential quadrature method (DQM) is applied to computation of the eigenvalues of the equations governing in plane and out-of-plane buckling. In-plane buckling and twist-buckling under uniformly distributed radial loads are investigated by this method. Critical loads are calculated for various end conditions and opening angles. Results are compared with existing exact solutions where available. The differential quadrature method gives good accuracy even when only a limited number of grid points is used. New results are given for two sets of boundary conditions not previously considered for this problem clamped-clamped and clamped simply supported ends.

  • WiBro service provider have made an effort to provide the subscriber's location and have deployed LBS system using cell-ID method. Cell-ID method has a location error problem if repeater is used on the other cell places at the same time. We introduce and analysis LMU(Location Measurement Unit) on the repeater fer location detection of subscriber which is serviced via the repeater. In this paper we propose the method using LMU on the repeater to avoid these location errors and to provide more exact location to the subscriber. we can conclude that the location error can be more exact at the building which uses repeater. It represents in which level the subscriber is serviced at the building.

  • Vibration of concrete beams reinforced by agglomerated silicon dioxide ($SiO_2$) nanoparticles is studied based on numerical methods. The structure is simulated by Euler-Bernoulli beam model and the Mori-Tanaka model is used for obtaining the effective material properties of the structure. The concrete beam is located in soil medium which is modeled by spring elements. The motion equations are derived based on energy method and Hamilton's principle. Based on exact solution, the frequency of the structure is calculated. The effects of different parameters such as volume percent of $SiO_2$ nanoparticles and agglomeration, soil medium and geometrical parameters of beam are shown on the frequency of system. The results show that with increasing the volume percent of $SiO_2$ nanoparticles, the frequency increases.

  • In this article, we construct exact traveling wave solutions for nonlinear PDEs in mathematical physics via the (1+1)- dimensional combined Korteweg- de Vries and modified Korteweg- de Vries (KdV-mKdV) equation, the (1+1)- dimensional compouned Korteweg- de Vries Burgers (KdVB) equation, the (2+1)- dimensional cubic Klien- Gordon (cKG) equation, the Generalized Zakharov- Kuznetsov- Bonjanmin- Bona Mahony (GZK-BBM) equation and the modified Korteweg- de Vries - Zakharov- Kuznetsov (mKdV-ZK) equation, by using the (($\frac{G'}{G}$) -expansion method combined with the Riccati equation, where G = $G({\xi})$ satisfies the Riccati equation $G'({\xi})=A+BG^2$ and A, B are arbitrary constants.

  • Self-centering concentrically braced frames (SCCBFs) are emerging as high performance seismically resistant braced framing system, due to the capacity of withstanding strong earthquake attacks and promptly recovering after events. To get a further insight into the seismic performance of SCCBFs, systematical evaluations are currently conducted from the perspective of modal contributions. In this paper, the modal pushover analysis (MPA) approach is utilized to obtain the realistic seismic demands by summarizing the contribution of each single vibration mode. The MPA-based results are compared with the exact results from nonlinear response history analysis. The adopted SCCBFs originate from existing buckling-restrained braced frames (BRBF), which are also analyzed for purpose of comparison. In the analysis of these comparable framing systems, interested performance indices that closely relate to the structural damage degree include the interstory drift ratio, floor acceleration, and absorbed hysteretic energy. The study shows that the MPA approach produces acceptable predictions in comparison to the exact results for SCCBFs. In addition, the high-modes effect on the seismic behavior increases with the building height, and is more evident in the SCCBFs than the BRBFs.

  • In this paper, nonlinear vibration behaviors of multi-phase Magneto-Electro-Elastic (MEE) doubly-curved nanoshells have been studied employing Jacobi elliptic function method. The doubly-curved nanoshell has been modeled by using nonlocal elasticity and classic shell theory. An exact estimation of nonlinear vibrational behavior of smart doubly-curved nanoshell has been obtained via Jacobi elliptic function method. This method can incorporate the influences of higher order harmonics leading to an exact estimation of nonlinear vibration frequency. It will be indicated that nonlinear vibrational frequency of doubly-curved nanoshell relies on nonlocal effect, material composition, curvature radius, center deflection and electro-magnetic field.

  • Battery switching EVs are considered to be a promising alternative to overcome long charging time problems in the EV adoption. The purpose of this research is to develop integrated model for battery inventory and battery switching waiting times. Due to complexity of exact analysis, a practical approximation method is developed, which provides close results to exact values. Numerical experiments show that there exist trade-offs between the battery inventory level and the number of switching stations. The proposed model can be applied to evaluate and select the minimum cost alternative in implementing the battery switching stations.

  • In this paper, we address a layout design problem for determining an optimal 4-class-based dedicated linear storage layout in a class of unit load storage systems. Assuming that space requirement for a class is the sum of the maximum inventory levels of products assigned to the class, and that one-way travel time is a linear function of storage index, we formulate a 4-class-based dedicated linear storage problem PTL[4] and provide an exact splitting algorithm with $O(n{\lceil}logn{\rceil})$. Our algorithms could be applied to more than a 4-class-based dedicated storage layout problem with slight modification in order to reduce computational execution time.

  • Nonlinear partial differential equations are more suitable to model many physical phenomena in science and engineering. In this paper, we consider three nonlinear partial differential equations such as Novikov equation, an equation for surface water waves and the Geng-Xue coupled equation which serves as a model for the unidirectional propagation of the shallow water waves over a at bottom. The main objective in this paper is to apply the generalized Riccati equation mapping method for obtaining more exact traveling wave solutions of Novikov equation, an equation for surface water waves and the Geng-Xue coupled equation. More precisely, the obtained solutions are expressed in terms of the hyperbolic, the trigonometric and the rational functional form. Solutions obtained are potentially significant for the explanation of better insight of physical aspects of the considered nonlinear physical models.
