This paper proposes a location-based inter-beam handover event considering terminal mobility to enhance the service quality for terminals in satellite networks. The terminal continuously measures the distance between the serving cell and neighboring cell centers, and checks whether the handover event condition is satisfied, taking into account the terminal's velocity. Performance analysis results demonstrate that the proposed location-based handover event reduces the frequency of unnecessary handover event triggering compared to the conventional received signal strength-based handover event, thereby improving the service continuity of the terminal.

In this study, Event Type Analysis System (ETAS) is developed for the accident evaluation in nuclear power plant. The ETAS system can be used in supporting regulator and/or operator under event situation in nuclear power plants. The ETAS system can categorize the all transient events to 3 categories such as Down-2000, Down-2173, and Slow Fluctuation. We develop the program structure for ETAS system and web-based ETAS system. The ETAS system will be used as sub module of Knowledge-Based Event Evaluation Network (K-EvENT) which is developing for the against the accident in nuclear power plants.
An event means a flow which has a time attribute such as the a symptom of patients, an interval event has the time period between the start-time-point and the end-time-point. Although there are many studies for temporal data mining, they do not deal with discovering knowledge from interval event such as patient histories and purchase histories. In this paper, we suggest a method of temporal data mining that finds association rules of event causal relationships and predicts an occurrence of effect event based on discovered rules. Our method can predict the occurrence of an event by summarizing an interval event using the time attribute of an event and finding the causal relationship of event. As a result of simulation, this method can discover better knowledge than others by considering a lot of supports of an event and finding the significant rare relation on interval events which means an essential cause of an event, regardless of an occurrence support of an event in comparison with conventional data mining techniques.

Event detection in wireless sensor networks is a key requirement in many applications. Acoustic sensors are one of the most frequently used sensors for event detection in sensor networks, but they are sensitive and difficult to handle because they vary greatly depending on the environment and target characteristics of the sensor field. In this paper, we propose a learning-based improvement of CFAR algorithm for increasing node-level event detection performance in acoustic sensor networks, and verify the effectiveness of the designed algorithm by comparing and evaluating the event detection performance with other algorithms. Our experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithm by increasing the detection accuracy by more than 45.16% by significantly reducing false positives by 7.97 times while slightly increasing the false negative compared to the existing algorithm.
PSA(Probabilistic Safety Assessment) methodology is widely used on assessing the safety of Nuclear Power Plants(NPPs) quantitatively in the domestic nuclear field. Initiating event frequencies are absolutely needed to conduct PSA, and they considerably affect PSA results. There is no domestic database where domestic trip event cases are reflected, so they are used to assess the safety of NPPs that are from the foreign database. In this paper, operating experience data from the Korean NPPs was collected and analyzed for the trip event cases, which are necessary to determine the initiating events and their frequencies. Korean NPPs have experienced five of 16 initiating events, which we LOFW. LOCV, LOCCW, LOOP and GTRN as a result of analyzing the trip event cases. Initiating frequencies based on the domestic trip event cases are analyzed, and they are similar to that from the foreign database.
In logistic environments, a process, in that it manages the flow of materials among partners, involves more than one organization. In this regard, a logistic process, as a combined process consisting of multiple sub processes, needs to be managed with controling interaction among partners. In achieving systematic management of a logistic process, traditional Business Process Management (BPM) cannot be used for the entire flow, since it lacks the ability to manage interactions among partners. Particularly in logistic environments where RFID technologies are used, how to deal with the connection between RFID event and logistic flow has not been properly addressed. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes a new method of managing multi-organizational logistic processes based on RFID events. We define inter-workflow pattern, and suggest ECA(Event-Condition-Action) rules for auto triggering of logistic processes. To adjust the rules to RFID events, we invent RFID-based ECA rules using complex event. A prototype system has been developed for the purpose of demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.
The effective development of event product for a successful event is first started with figuring out the participation motive of event. Second, what level of expectation before participating event for participant will have. Third, what level of satisfaction and safety satisfaction based on figured out motive and expectation will participant have. Fourth, what level of revisit based on satisfaction will have. The study is needed for these low items. Therefore, this investigation started as an exploratory study for a successful event to analysis the relationship among expectation satisfaction, safety satisfaction and revisit. The results indicated that participated motive is positively influenced on expectation. The expectation is positively influenced on safety satisfaction. The satisfaction is positively influenced on revisit. Finally, the safety satisfaction is positively influenced on revisit. The unique characteristics of this study is considered a safety satisfaction as m event safety and as an important factor when terror becomes often these days.

The duration time of aircraft noise event is also an important factor for the evaluation of civil aircraft noise, which is considered as a notable characteristic of military aircraft noise. SEL is proved as a suitable noise metric for the measuring military aircraft noise of various flight pattern considering the duration time of noise event. This study reviews whether SEL is a suitable for measuring civil aircraft noise and study shows SEL is fairly compensating the duration time of civil aircraft noise event for the evaluation of aircraft noise. Noise metric for the evaluation aircraft noise based on SEL is more appropriate than based on $L_{MAX}$ for compensating duration time of noise event either military aircraft or civil aircraft. In this reason, current formula of WECPNL based on energy average of measured $L_{MAX}$ for the evaluation of aircraft noise impact in 'Test Method of Noise and Vibration of Korea' is recommended to be amended to formula of WECPNL based on energy average of measured SEL considering compensation of noise event duration time, if WECPNL is not based on measured EPNL, a metric compensating duration time.
In this paper, we propose a multi-site based earthquake event classification method using graph convolution networks. In the traditional earthquake event classification methods using deep learning, they used single-site observation to estimate seismic event class. However, to achieve robust and accurate earthquake event classification on the seismic observation network, the method using the information from the multi-site observations is needed, instead of using only single-site data. Firstly, our proposed model employs convolution neural networks to extract informative embedding features from the single-site observation. Secondly, graph convolution networks are used to integrate the features from several stations. To evaluate our model, we explore the model structure and the number of stations for ablation study. Finally, our multi-site based model outperforms up to 10 % accuracy and event recall rate compared to single-site based model.
An agent-centric event planning method is proposed for providing pedagogical experiences in an immersed environment. Two-level planning is required at in a macro-level (i.e., inter-event level) and an intra-event level to provide realistic experiences with the objective of learning declarative knowledge. The inter-event (horizontal) planning is based on search, while intra-event (vertical) planning is based on hierarchical decomposition. The horizontal search is dictated by several realistic types of association between events besides the conventional causality. The resulting schematic plan is further augmented by conditions associated with those agents cast into the roles of the events identified in the plan. Rather than following a main story plot, all the events potentially relevant to accomplishing an initial goal are derived in the final result of our planning. These derived events may progress concurrently or digress toward a new main goal replacing the current goal or event, and the plan could be merged or fragmented according to their respective lead agents' intentions and other conditions. The macro-level coherence across interconnected events is established via their common background world existing a priori. As the pivotal source of event concurrency and intricacy, agents are modeled to not only be autonomous but also independent, i.e., entities with their own beliefs and goals (and subsequent plans) in their respective parts of the world. Additional problems our method addresses for augmenting pedagogical experiences include casting of agents into roles based on their availability, subcontracting of subsidiary events, and failure of multi-agent event entailing fragmentation of a plan. The described planning method was demonstrated by monitoring implementation.
