  • Since the modal pushover analysis (MPA) is introduced by A.K.Chopra in 2002, it has been the leading procedure for the seismic evalution of structures. However it has scarcely used on bridge structures dueing to its inherent limitation. In this paper, MPA is applied on cable-stayed bridges to check its applicability on such structures.

  • In this paper, a mathematical engine model based on the actual engine operation is formulated to be adapted for the evalution and development of engine control system. In the model the classification of fuel paticle siza is considered. The model is simulated through the mathematical interpretation of intake manifold in the rapidly-accerated state. The spark-timing is analyzed with respect to engine r.p.m. The result shows that the model behaves similar performance to the actual engine operation and the spark-timing is very important to the characterization of engine r.p.m..

  • When a fault occurs in power transmission systems, protective relays play a roles of protecting the power system according to there setting values. Therefor, it is important that protective relays have high selectivity and sensitivity by correct setting the involves a large volume of data and is a complicated and very tedious, therefore vulnerable to the human errors. Also, it is very difficult to verify that the relays have correct operating parameters before the fault occurs. This paper porposed a method to testify the reliability of realys by showing the operation response to faults in the simulation of the real power system operation environment.

  • The position control of flexible joint manipulator is investigated by applying the self-organizing fuzzy logic controller (SOC) proposed by Procyk and Mamdani. The SOC is a heuristic rule-based controller and a further extension of an ordinary fuzzy controller, which has a hierachy structrue which consists of an algorithm being identical to a fuzzy controller at the lower ollp and a learning algorithm accomodating the performance evalution and rule modification function at the upper ollp. This form of control can be used in those complex systems which have been too difficult to control or which in the past have had to rely on the experience of a human operator. Even though the significant dynamic coupling of the motors and links on the flexible joint manipulator, the performance of command-following is good by applying the proposed SOC.

  • LOHAS(Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability) drinks were prepared by the addition of mulberry leaf powder(MLP) at various levels(0%, 5%, 10% and 20%). Their characteristics of the drinks were examined according to antioxidant activity and sensory evaluation. In the sensory evaluation, there was no significant difference between the control group(0% MLP group) and 5% MLP group for overall quality. For the proximate compositions of the LOHAS drinks, moisture, crude ash, crude protein and crude fat were all increased as the ratio of MLP increased. For the mineral contents, the amounts of calcium and magnesium were increased, but sodium, according to adding levels of MLP.

  • In this paper, we report the result of the three-dimensional topography simultor, 3D-SURFILER(SURface proFILER) for the simulation of topographical evalution of the surface, curing a plasma etching process. We employed cell-removal algorithm to represent the topographical evoluation of the surface. The visibility with shadow effect was developed and applied to the spillover algorithm. To demonstrate the capability of 3D-SURFILER, we compared with simulated profiles with the SEM picture for dry and reactive ion etching(RIE) of the Si$_{3}$N$_{4}$ film and Pt film.

  • In these days the floor vibration is beginning to make its appearance of the environmental dispute in apartment building. Standard floor system are suggested for the settlement of this issue by government. The sound of floor impact sound is needed to secure comfortable quality in housing. Also, it is required an accurate analysis and a proper evaluation for floor vibration. Refine model is necessary for the floor system of housing to analyze accurately the floor vibration. But this refine model is not efficient because it is required so much running time for vibration analysis and it is difficult of modeling of standard floor slab. In this paper, new modeling methods of standard floor slab are proposed for the accurate rigidity evaluation. By using the new modeling method, the accurate vibration response can be obtained and can accurately evaluate the rigidity of standard floor system with resilient materials. Therefore the proposed modeling method is of practical use for vibration analysis of floor system of apartment building.

  • Many plant species are used in China in tradtional medicine for the prevention and treatment of cancer. This paper presents some of these species with defals on other pharmacologic evaluation and its tradional Chinese meditional uses. The known bioaktivities and some chemical constituents of each of the species given. Information on bioactivities of each species resulting from tests on experimental animals are given. Many of the known chemical constituents of each species are given. Various species of plants elective for various types.   • For the accurate evaluations of influence of construction noise, it is necessary to investigate not only physical characteristics of construction noise but also the subjective psycho-acoustical respects of individual persons. To develope the effective evaluation procedures for construction noise, we investigated Korean vocabularies which can express the feelings for construction noise, and analyzed psychological factors influencing on the subjective feelings of persons, through a series of psycho-acoustical experiments to construction noise. As a result of, it was found that the construction noise sources including the six factors. And this study intends to get the basic data for the evaluations about construction noise.

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of cereals on the physicochemical and ,sensory characteristics of Noti. Noti is one of Korean traditional pan-fried glutinous cereal cakes. In this case, Noti was made from the steamed glutinous Chinese millet flour. Acid value was not increased abruptly. TBA value was maintained, reducing sugar content was increased, and the average value of gelatinization degree was increased as compared with the first day that glutinous Chinese millet Noti was made during 90 day storage. Through sensory evalution, flavor, consistency(the inner part), and moistness were unfavorable according to the storage. The texture tended to increase depending upon the storage period. The hardness of glutinous Chinese millet Noti by Instron measurement was slowly increased. Cohesiveness and elasticity were increased during storage.
