도시 지하차도 침수 분석을 통한 강제배제시설 평가 (Evaluation of Drain Pump System by Inundation Analysis in Urban Underground Passage)

  • 도시유역의 강우 유출은 대부분 불투수지역인 도시유역의 유출 특성상 빠른 도달시간을 갖는다. 일반적으로 도시유역에서의 강우 유출은 배수펌프장으로 집수되어 하천으로 배제된다. 그러나 설계강우를 초과하는 호우가 발생하였을 때에는 배수펌프장의 용량을 초과하여 전량 하천으로 배제하기가 어려우며 따라서, 도시유역에서의 내수침수위험성이 증가하게 된다. 현행의 배수펌프장에서의 펌프 운영 기준은 배수펌프장의 집수정 또는 유수지의 수위에 따라서 가동되도록 구성되어있다. 그러나 최근 빈번히 발생하는 국지적 집중호우는 배수펌프장의 설계용량을 초과하는 경우가 대부분이며 배수펌프장이 제어할 수 없는 강우 유출은 도시유역에서의 내수침수를 발생시킨다. 본 연구에서는 도시 지하차도에서의 실제 내수침수 사례에 대한 모의를 통하여 당시 침수 발생의 요인을 분석하고 펌프 운영에 대한 변화를 통하여 배수펌프장 강제배제시설에 대하여 평가하였다.

Integrating Resilient Tier N+1 Networks with Distributed Non-Recursive Cloud Model for Cyber-Physical Applications

  • Cyber-physical systems (CPS) have been growing exponentially due to improved cloud-datacenter infrastructure-as-a-service (CDIaaS). Incremental expandability (scalability), Quality of Service (QoS) performance, and reliability are currently the automation focus on healthy Tier 4 CDIaaS. However, stable QoS is yet to be fully addressed in Cyber-physical data centers (CP-DCS). Also, balanced agility and flexibility for the application workloads need urgent attention. There is a need for a resilient and fault-tolerance scheme in terms of CPS routing service including Pod cluster reliability analytics that meets QoS requirements. Motivated by these concerns, our contributions are fourfold. First, a Distributed Non-Recursive Cloud Model (DNRCM) is proposed to support cyber-physical workloads for remote lab activities. Second, an efficient QoS stability model with Routh-Hurwitz criteria is established. Third, an evaluation of the CDIaaS DCN topology is validated for handling large-scale, traffic workloads. Network Function Virtualization (NFV) with Floodlight SDN controllers was adopted for the implementation of DNRCM with embedded rule-base in Open vSwitch engines. Fourth, QoS evaluation is carried out experimentally. Considering the non-recursive queuing delays with SDN isolation (logical), a lower queuing delay (19.65%) is observed. Without logical isolation, the average queuing delay is 80.34%. Without logical resource isolation, the fault tolerance yields 33.55%, while with logical isolation, it yields 66.44%. In terms of throughput, DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell offered 38.30%, 36.37%, and 25.53% respectively. Similarly, the DNRCM had an improved incremental scalability profile of 40.00%, while BCube and Recursive DCell had 33.33%, and 26.67% respectively. In terms of service availability, the DNRCM offered 52.10% compared with recursive BCube and DCell which yielded 34.72% and 13.18% respectively. The average delays obtained for DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell are 32.81%, 33.44%, and 33.75% respectively. Finally, workload utilization for DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell yielded 50.28%, 27.93%, and 21.79% respectively.

항만하역노동력의 최적배분에 관한 연구 (II) 선박군의 경우 (OPTIMUM ALLOCATION OF PORT LABOR GANGS IN CASE OF MULTIPLE SHIPS)

  • Recently recognize the labor productivity of port physical distribution system in the port and shipping areas, Much Efforts for evaluating this productivity has been made continuously. BUt still there is little study, so far, on a systematic research for the management of port labor gangs, and even those were mainly depended on a rule of thumb. Especially the object of this study is to introduce the method of optimal allocation and assignment for the labor gangs per pier unit in the multiple ships berthed at an arbitary pier or port. In case the multiple ships have a homogeneous cargoes or do not have sufficient labor gangs to be assigned. The problem of optimal allocation and assignment of the labor gangs to be i) formalized with multi-state decision process in form of difference equation as the pattern which converted the independent multiple ships into a single ship with the intra-multiple ships, and ii) the optimal size of labor gangs could be obtained through the simple mathematical method instead of complicated dynamic programming, and iii) In case of shortage of labor gangs available the evaluation function considering the labor gangs available and total shift times was introduced, and iv) the optimal allocation and assignment of labor gangs was dealt at the point of minimizing the summation of the total shift times and at the point of minimizing the total cost charged for the extra waiting time except PHI time during port times for the multiple ships combinations.

피로균열의 지연거동에 따른 수명예측 및 비파괴평가 (Life Prediction by Retardation Behavior of Fatigue Crack and its Nondestructive Evaluation)

  • Fatigue life and crack retardation behavior after penetration were experimentally examined using surface pre-cracked specimens of aluminium alloy 5083. The Wheeler model retardation parameter was used successfully to predict crack growth behavior after penetration. By using a crack propagation rule, the change in crack shape after penetration can be evaluated quantitatively. Advanced, waveform-based acoustic emission (AE) techniques have been successfully used to evaluate signal characteristics obtained form fatigue crack propagation and penetratin behavior in 6061 aluminum plate with surface crack under fatigue stress. Surface defects in the structural members are apt to be origins of fatigue crack growth, which may cause serious failure of the whole structure. The nondestructive analysis on the crack growth and penetration from these defects may, therefore, be one of the most important subjects on the reliability of the leak before break (LBB) design. The goal of the present study is to determine if different sources of the AE could be identified by characteristics of the waveforms produced from the crack growth and penetration. AE signals detected in four stages were found to have different signal per stage. With analysis of waveform and power spectrum in 6061 aluminum alloys with a surface crack, it is found to be capabilities on real-time monitoring for the crack propagation and penetration behavior of various damages and defects in structural members.

Vehicle-bridge coupling vibration analysis based fatigue reliability prediction of prestressed concrete highway bridges

  • The extensive use of prestressed reinforced concrete (PSC) highway bridges in marine environment drastically increases the sensitivity to both fatigue-and corrosion-induced damage of their critical structural components during their service lives. Within this scenario, an integrated method that is capable of evaluating the fatigue reliability, identifying a condition-based maintenance, and predicting the remaining service life of its critical components is therefore needed. To accomplish this goal, a procedure for fatigue reliability prediction of PSC highway bridges is proposed in the present study. Vehicle-bridge coupling vibration analysis is performed for obtaining the equivalent moment ranges of critical section of bridges under typical fatigue truck models. Three-dimensional nonlinear mathematical models of fatigue trucks are simplified as an eleven-degree-of-freedom system. Road surface roughness is simulated as zero-mean stationary Gaussian random processes using the trigonometric series method. The time-dependent stress-concentration factors of reinforcing bars and prestressing tendons are accounted for more accurate stress ranges determination. The limit state functions are constructed according to the Miner's linear damage rule, the time-dependent S-N curves of prestressing tendons and the site-specific stress cycle prediction. The effectiveness of the methodology framework is demonstrated to a T-type simple supported multi-girder bridge for fatigue reliability evaluation.

  • The purpose of this study is fatigue damage assessment for large sized casting parts (hub and mainframe) of the 3MW offshore wind turbine by computer simulation. Hub and mainframe durability assessment is necessary because wind turbine have to guarantee for 20 years. Fatigue life evaluation must be considered all of fatigue load conditions as the components are wind load transmission path. Palmgren-Miner linear damage accumulation hypothesis is applied for fatigue life estimation with stress-life approach. S-N curve for the spheroid graphite cast iron EN-GJS-400-18-LT is derived according to durability guidelines. Reduction factors were applied for survival probability, surface roughness, material quality and partial safety factor according to Germanischer Lloyd rules. To calculate fatigue damage, stress tensors, extracted from the unity load calculation from ANSYS is multiplied with time track of fatigue loads extracted from GH bladed. Damage accumulation is performed with all of fatigue load conditions at each finite element nodes. In this study maximum nodal damage value is under 1.0. casted parts are safe. 해상 이동형 해수담수화 플랜트 선박의 저항 및 내항 성능 평가에 따른 장기 하중 추정 (Long-term Loads based on Evaluation of Resistance and Seakeeping Performances for a Desalination Plant Ship)

  • Desalination plant ships have been recently regarded as one of the probable solutions for drought seasons in many countries. Because desalination plants should be mounted on the desalination ships and special purpose storages such as salty waste water tanks are necessary, onboard and compartment arrangements would be distinguished from those of other conventional commercial ships. This paper introduces some basic design procedure including resistance/propulsion and seakeeping performances. The ship lines were improved step by step after modification of the ship lines and verification of resistance/propulsion performances using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). After finalization of the ship lines, the seakeeping performance was also evaluated to check motion behaviors and drive wave-induced loads such as the wave shear force and bending moment. It was proved that the predicted long-term vertical wave shear force and bending moment were significantly less than the rule-based ones, thus it is expected that the deliverables of this study will reduce the construction cost of desalination plant ships.

  • Abstract. We propose a fast and robust finite difference method for Merton's jump diffusion model, which is a partial integro-differential equation. To speed up a computational time, we compute a matrix so that we can calculate the non-local integral term fast by a simple matrix-vector operation. Also, we use non-uniform grids to increase efficiency. We present numerical experiments such as evaluation of the option prices and Greeks to demonstrate a performance of the proposed numerical method. The computational results are in good agreements with the exact solutions of the jump-diffusion model.

  • 능동 데이터베이스의 성능 향상을 위해 능동규칙의 조건부에 관한 연구가 매우 중요한 요소가 되며, 조건부에서 발생되는 연산 처리시간을 최소화 시켜야만 시스템의 성능을 높일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 차이트리 구조 그리고 분류트리를 생성하는 전처리 기능을 갖는 조건부 처리 기법을 제안한다. 전처리는 능동규칙을 미리 파악할 수 있는 능동 데이터베이스의 특징 때문에 도입될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 차이릴레이션 대신에 조인연산과 선택연산을 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 차이트리와 분류트리를 제안하여 조건부의 처리 성능을 높인다.

이중선체 벌크화물선의 선체구조설계 및 경제성 검토 (Structural Design and Cost Evaluation of Double Hull Bulk Carrier)

  • After many casualties of conventional bulk carriers in recent years, a double hull bulk carrier was proposed to enhance the structural safety of a side shell and a transverse bulkhead. In this paper, two alternative structural designs of a double hull bulk carrier were carried out based on the Lloyd's rule. One has the double sided hull with longitudinal stiffeners and the other has that with a girder. The final structural design was examined in comparison with an existing single hull bulk carrier from the viewpoints of cargo hold capacity and the increases of weight and construction cost. Generally, the construction cost of a ship consists of the costs of material, labor and overhead cost. But, in this study, the relative construction cost concept was introduced to compare the economical validity more precisely. In this concept, fixed overhead cost is excluded in the assessment of construction cost, and only the variable overhead cost is added up to labor cost. As the result of this study, a double hull bulk carrier can be constructed within 1% increase of weight and construction cost.
