In this paper, we propose to a robust frequency offset estimation method of OFDM signals. A carrier frequency offset may be decomposed into an integer multiple of the subcarrier spacing and a residual frequency offset. Fractional part of frequency offset is obtained by using the maximum likelihood estimation(MLE) method. And we use the correlation of the samples at the output of the discrete Fourier transform(DFT) to estimate integer part of frequency offset. The result shows that the estimation frequency offset is almost linear to frequency offset. We propose to an improved estimation error variance of the carrier frequency offset estimation. The proposed estimator has better performance than the conventional ones in terms of error variance and tracking range.

In this paper, the estimation method for the power signal harmonics is proposed by using the time-varying optimal finite impulse response (FIR) filter. To estimate the magnitude and phase-angle of the harmonic components, the time-varying optimal FIR filter is designed for the state space representation of the noisy power signal which the magnitude and phase is considered as a stochastic process. Since the time-varying optimal FIR filter used in the proposed method does not use any priori information of the initial condition and has FIR structure, the proposed method could overcome the demerits of Kalman filter based method such as poor estimation and divergence problem. Due to the FIR structure, the proposed method is more robust against to the model uncertainty than the Kalman filter. Moreover, the proposed method gives more general solution than the time-invariant optimal FIR filter based harmonic estimation method. To verify the performance and robustness of the proposed method, the proposed method is compared with time-varying Kalman filter based method through simulation.

In this paper, new filtering method for sensor registration is provided to estimate and correct error of registration parameters in multiple sensor environments. Sensor registration is based on filtering method to estimate registration parameters in multiple sensor environments. Accuracy of sensor registration can increase performance of data fusion method selected. Due to various error sources, the sensor registration has registration errors recognized as multiple objects even though multiple sensors are tracking one object. In order to estimate the error parameter, new nonlinear information filtering method is developed using minimum mean square error estimation. Instead of linearization of nonlinear function like an extended Kalman filter, information estimation through unscented prediction is used. The proposed method enables to reduce estimation error without a computation of the Jacobian matrix in case that measurement dimension is large. A computer simulation is carried out to evaluate the proposed filtering method with an extended Kalman filter.
The structure must be periodically checked and measures must be taken to prevent deterioration in building construction. From this point of view, a nondestructive test is essential to estimate whether the construction of buildings is proper, and whether the dimension of depositing concrete is consistent and without damage. This study estimated the thickness of the concrete component of construction framework using the ultrasonic velocity method and the impact echo method, in order to investigate reliability of the estimation of the thickness of normal strength concrete and high strength concrete, leading to the following conclusions. In the estimation of the thickness of the concrete structures, specimens of normal strength of 24MPa and specimens of high strength of 40MPa demonstrated an average error rate of 5.1% and 2.2%, respectively. The impact-echo method, one of the non-destructive tests, is verified as an efficient diagnostic technique. With this information, we will determine specific standards for the maintenance of structures, and the re-creation of lost building blueprints.
Methods for determination of the crack opening stress intensity factor ($K_{op}$) and for estimation of the effective stress intensity factor range ($\Delta{K}_{eff}$) are evaluated for crack growth test data of aluminum alloys. Three methods of determining $K_{op}$, visual measurement, ASTM offset compliance method, and the neural network method proposed by Kang and Song, and three methods of estimating $\Delta{K}_{eff}$, conventional, the 2/PIO and 2/PI methods proposed by Donald and Paris, are compared in a quantitative manner by using evaluation criteria. For all $K_{op}$ determination methods discussed, the 2/PI method of estimating $\Delta{K}_{eff}$ provides good results. The neural network method of determining $K_{op}$ provides good correlation of crack growth data. It is recommended to use 2/PI estimation with the neural $K_{op}$ determination method. The ASTM offset method used in conjunction with 2/PI estimation shows a possibility of successful application. It is desired to improve the ASTM method.

In this paper, we study for direction of arrival MUSIC spatial spectrum algorithm in order to desired signal estimation in spatial. Proposal MUSIC spatial spectrum algorithm in paper use model error and Bayesian method to estimation on correct target position. Receiver array response vector using adaptive array antenna use Bayesian method, and target position estimate to update weight value with model error method. Target's signal estimation of desired direction of arrival in this paper apply weight value of signal covariance matrix for array response vector after removing incident signal interference and noise, respectively. Though simulation, we analyze to compare proposed method with general method.

The purpose of this study is to suggest efficient methods for estimating population exposed to noises by analyzing differences of population exposed to noises estimated by each method through comparing exposed population estimated by utilizing existing methods and those estimated by using census output areas reflecting the actual population information of each address. For population exposed to noises, the error of exposed population estimated by using the per capita living space turned out to be the biggest, and other estimation methods had no significant difference. For population exposed to excess noises, as a result of analyzing population estimated by each method based on census output areas, the error of the method using a grid noise map turned out to be the biggest. For the method to estimate population exposed to noises by using a noise map, the estimation methods using census output areas and total ground area are considered to be more rational than the grid noise map estimation method or the method to estimate the living space per capita.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the stiffness of mortar-filled sleeve bar splice using estimation method of failure mode in the sleeve reinforcement splice. To attain this goal, we analyzed the test results of 261 actual-sized mortar-filled sleeve splice specimens. The study results showed that the estimation method of the failure mode in mortar-filled sleeve bar splice made an effective estimate of the stiffness in this bar splice with the exception of specimens with SD500 bars and smooth pipe sleeve. Especially, of the specimens with cast sleeve or uneven pipe sleeve in the range of reinforcement fracture using the estimation method of the failure mode in mortar-filled sleeve splice, specimens over 98% with SD400 bars and all specimens with SD500 bars had the stiffness capacity of higher than "A" class of AIJ code in monotonic loading. In addition, of the specimens in the range of reinforcement fracture using the estimation method of the failure mode in mortar-filled sleeve splice, all specimens with SD400 bars and SD500 bars had the stiffness capacity of higher than "A" class of AIJ code in cyclic loading.
The maximum likelihood(ML) estimation has excellent accuracy for frequency estimation of multiple sinusoids, but the maximum likelihood function requires much loss owing to the high nonlinearity. This paper presents a simplified maximum likelihood estimation, in order to improve the nonlinearity of the maximum likelihood estimation for frequencies of sinusoids in signals. This method is applied to the frequency estimation of sinusoidal signals corrupted by white or colored measurement noise. Monte-carlo simulations are conducted for the comparison of ML method with the best MFBLP method, in terms of sampled mean, root mean square and relative bias. The power spectral density and the position of frequency in unit circle are appeared in figures.

In this paper, a parameter estimation method for a vector control of induction motors is presented. It can be easily implemented to the inverters in the industrial fields such as continuous process line, which requires the high performance of torque control, because of being estimated under the condition of the actual operating states. Also, this method nems no additional hardware such as voltage sensors and measuring equipments by the estimation of output voltage, and has good accuracy and repeatability by observing the variation of the stator voltage due to estimation errors. Experimental results verify the validity and usefulness of the proposed estimation method in the industrial fields.
