국내 초등환경교육 연구 동향 분석 (The Analysis on Domestic Research Trends about Elementary School Environmental Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate research trends about elementary environmental education through the analysis of theses published from January, 1991 to June, 2011 in the scientific journals. For the analysis of theses, we set standards of analysis including the number of theses, research topics, research methods, the designs of study and the objects of study. The number of theses used for the analysis was 186 volumes by limiting as Journal of KOSEE (The Korean Society for Environmental Education), Journal of KASE (The Korean Association for Science Education) and Journal of KESES (The Korean Society of Elementary Science Education). The results of study are as follows. First, in the analysis of theses according to the published year, we discovered that the volumes of theses related elementary environmental education were more than 50% of theses published in the Journal of KOSEE since mid-2000s. Second, the theses about environmental education curriculum were most common topic in the research topics, and the next things were status and actual condition, environmental perspective, and theory and policy. Third, as the most common things in research methods and the designs of study, 38.6% of theses have focused on the 'development and application' as research methods and 50.5% of theses have used 'quantitative research' as the designs of study. Fourth, the most common study in the theses was to target elementary school students, then it was literatures, then teachers, and environmental facility. On the basis of the results of this research, we suggest that various studies and environmental education programs can develop student's right environmental perspective and teacher's recognition about environmental education must be presented.

학업반감에 영향을 미치는 환경적·심리적 영향요인 분석: 고등학교 3학년 학생을 대상으로 (Analyses of Environmental and Psychological Factors for Academic Hatred: Focusing on the Senior Students in Korean High Schools)

  • 본 연구는 학업반감에 영향을 미치는 내외적 보호 및 위험요인으로서 학습자개인, 부모, 교우, 교사 관련변인의 상대적 영향력을 검증하기 위해 실시되었다. 서울, 인천, 경기 소재 8개 고교에 재학 중인 수능 1개월 전 고등학교 3학년생 총 1,015명(여학생 57.3%)을 대상으로 상관분석 및 위계적회귀분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 상관분석 결과, 교사학업압력은 학습자의 기본심리욕구, 교사자율성지지, 교사지지, 교우지지와 유의한 상관을 보이지 않았으며 이외의 모든 변인은 서로 유의한 상관을 보였다. 위계적회귀분석 결과, 최종적으로 학습자 개인의 유능성과 자율성, 부모의 학업적지지 및 교사의 정서적 지지는 학업반감에 대한 보호요인으로, 부모학업압력은 위험요인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 교우지지는 교사요인 투입시부터 유의한 영향력을 잃는 것으로 드러났으며, 학습자개인의 기본심리적욕구 투입시 교사의 자율성지지 효과는 사라지고 교사지지의 영향력만이 강화되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 그동안 기존 연구들에서 본격적으로 다루어지지 않은 학업반감에 대해 구체적으로 밝히고 관련 변인들의 상대적 영향력을 검증하여 향후 학업반감 연구의 기초를 마련하였다는 데에 의의가 있다. 마지막으로 이에 대한 한계 및 학교상담에서의 개입전략과 관련한 함의점, 후속 연구에서의 방향성 등을 제시하였다.

중학교 환경 교과서의 질문방략 (A Comparison of Questioning Styles in Middle School Environmeotology Textbook)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the questioning styles in middle school environmentology textbook In terms of frequency, type, and placement of questions. It was also to analyse and to compare the kinds of scientific inquiry processes elicited by the questions in the topics of textbooks. The instrument was the Textbook Questing Strategies Assessment Instrument (TQSAI) developed the Cooperative Teacher Preparation Project, University of California. The average number of Questions per topic was only 1.09 and the ratio of questions to sentences was 2.5%. Most of questions were in explanatory place(75%). Nearly 90% of experienced questions types were reasoning or application. The frequencies of non-experiential question were higher than those of experiential question. In action, there were much kinds of question-styles.

공업계열 전문 교과 교사의 지속가능발전교육에 대한 인식과 실태에 관한 연구 (Research on Industrial High Schools Technical Subjects Teachers' Perception and Present Situation and Toward Education for Sustainable Development(ESD))

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the Industrial High Schools Technical Subjects teachers' perceptions and attitudes toward sustainable development(SD). The instrument consisted of totally 12 items. The subjects of this study were 98 Industrial High Schools Technical Subjects teachers. The period of survey is from June 23 to July 15 of 2010. The questionnaire included items asking whether they heard about terms such as sustainability or sustainable development, the source of information on SD, the level of understanding or the urgent task 2 for SD in Korea. Result of survey is following. First, Teacher thought that urgent task for SD is conservation of natural environment. Second, Most of the teacher consider the concept SD as 'pursuing the balance between environmental protection and economic development, and some of the teachers recognized the concept of SD in the paradigm of continuous economic development. Third, half of teachers have not heard terminology of SD .and 80% of them have not conducted ESD. Fourth, a few of teachers replied that obstacle of ESD is shortage of teacher's professionalism.

Elementary Teachers' Perception on Student Competencies, Teacher Role, and Instruction in the Forthcoming Educational Environmental Change

  • Rapid development of educational technology requires fundamental changes not only in the form of instruction and role of teachers in school education but also in the competency development of students. Specifically, the emergence of new technologies such as makerspace, virtual reality (VR), and robotics has made it more challenging for teachers and students in the 21st century. However, even with the argument for the changes, less has been discussed about how much in-service teachers are aware of and how they are preparing for such changes. Therefore, this study intends to explore what would be required to students and teachers, and for instructional changes with more technologies available through the lens of elementary school teachers. The study results suggest, similar to previous studies, in-service elementary teachers recognize that student competencies such as creativity, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills are important. They also perceived that teacher change in role and attitude, and for instructional method and classroom culture are crucial as catalysts of change. Unique and interesting finding from this study is about the importance of nurturing digital citizenship in technology-infused learning environment. The digital citizenship has been less highlighted in the past, but this study revealed it should be treated as a priority.

비판과학 관점의 주체로서 가정과 교사 행위주체성에 관한 연구 (A Philosophical Study on the Agency of the Home Economics Teachers as Agent from a Critical Science Perspective)

  • 본 연구는 비판과학 관점에서 행동의 개념을 분석하고, 교사교육 측면에서 가정과 교사 행동주체성을 탐색하고자 하였으며, 다음과 같은 내용을 함축하고 있다. 첫째, 행동의 개념은 인간이 자신의 의도를 포함하는 활동이며, 설정된 목적과 결정에 도달하려는 고유한 정체성을 드러낼 수 있는 능력으로 공적 영역에서 상호의미에 의해 파악될 수 있다. 둘째, 교사 행위주체성은 교사가 가진 전문적인 경험과 문화적·구조적 측면에서 영향을 받고 있으며, 개인과 공동체의 자기주도적이고 협력적 관계를 촉진할 수 있는 환경을 만들어 나갈 수 있다. 가정과 교사는 행위주체성이 발휘되는 상황과 결과에 대한 성찰을 통해 이성적으로 판단하여 숙고하고 행동할 수 있어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 가정과 교사는 행위주체성을 바탕으로 가정과 교육의 가치와 역할, 목적의식에 대해 비판적으로 성찰하고 사유할 수 있다. 교사의 행위주체성 자체는 완성되는 것이라기보다는 이루려고 하는 과정이 중요하며, 교사 서로 간의 지각된 상호이해를 통해 지속성을 갖고 발전해나갈 수 있다. 따라서 가정과 교사 행위주체성의 개념화는 교사의 행동에서 드러나는 실천을 이해하려는 것이며, 이는 전문적 지식과 경험을 공유하는 상호주체적 환경조성을 통해 교사의 사고와 성찰을 강화하는 기제로 작용할 수 있기에 학교 현장의 환경적 지원이 요구된다.

초등학교 학교조경의 환경교육적 활용을 위한 기초 연구 -성남시 교사들의 인식을 중심으로- (A Basic Study for the Environmental Educational Use of Elementary School Landscape -The Awareness of Seongnam City Elementary School Teacher-)

  • The purpose of this study that was based on the theory review about the practical use necessity of school landscape was to survey on the awareness of elementary school teachers about the applications of school landscape for environmental education. This study was carried out through the review of literature, the questionnaire to 132 elementary school teachers in Seongnam City. The findings derived from this study were as follows : First, School landscape is an important field as environmental education resource for the improvement of school environmental education. Especially, for the improvement of environmental sensitivity through field-experience learning, the practical applications of elementary school landscape is very important and urgent in aspects of environmental education theory, accessibility, and convenience. Second, Most of responded teachers give an affirmative answer about the field-experience learning for school environmental education and the necessity of practical use of school landscape for field-experience learning. Several the improvement to use elementary school landscape for environmental education being suggested by teachers are the increase of financial support, the magnification of school area, and the school landscape planning and design in consideration of environmental education by landscape architect expert. Third, Above half of teachers don't agree to use the roof garden for environmental education because of the safety of students and the school building construction. Fourth, Teachers are more satisfied with the status of school landscape maintenance than the practical usability of school landscape in aspect of environmental education and the facilities in school landscape. Teachers think that the most important functions and roles of school landscape is psychological factor.

생물 학습을 위한 고등학생 소집단과 교사의 면담에서 나타나는 상호작용 유형 분석 (The Patterns of Interaction in Teacher Interviewing with High School Students' Small Group for Biology Learning)

  • 본 연구는 고등학생들의 생물 학습 상황의 소집단 활동에서 나타나는 상호작용 유형을 분석하고자 하였다. 상호작용의 유형 분석은 소집단 활동을 위해 교사가 피드백을 제공하고자 하는 면담 과정을 통해 이루어졌다. 상호작용의 유형은 학생과 학생, 학생과 교사간 상호작용 수준에 따라 4가지로 분류되었는데 이는 소집단 내에서 교사와 소집단의 대표 학생 사이에서만 상호작용이 이루어지는 유형(LR, Leader Representation), 일부 학생과 교사의 상호작용이 이루어지고 있는 유형(PSI, Partial Students Interaction), 학생과 학생 사이에 상호작용이 활발히 일어나나 교사와는 대표 학생과 상호작용이 이루어지는 유형(SAI, Students Active Interaction), 구성원 모두가 활발히 상호작용을 하고 모든 학생들이 교사와도 상호작용을 하는 유형(TSAI, Teacher-students Active Interaction) 등이다. 고등학생들은 면담 과정이 거듭될수록 학생과 학생 사이에 상호작용이 활발하게 일어났으며, 학습에 대한 개념 이해가 부족한 초기 단계에서는 학생들 간에 복잡한 상호작용 양상이 나타나지만 개념의 이해가 완성되어 갈수록 점차 상호작용 유형이 간결하게 변화되어가는 특성을 보였다. 이로부터 생물 학습을 위한 소집단에서의 상호작용은 개념 이해가 부족한 학습자에게는 개념을 확인하고 이해할 수 있는 기회를 제공하며, 학습 개념을 상호 형성할 수 있는 긍정적 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것이다.

Preparing Future Specialists of Preschool Education for the Development of Conscious Citizenship and Environmental Values of Students

  • The main purpose of the study is to analyze the specifics of training future preschool education specialists for the development of conscious citizenship and environmental values of students. The methodology includes a number of theoretical methods of analysis. The importance of the issue of professional training of a specialist in a preschool institution is proved, along with an increase in the general and professional culture of a teacher, his readiness to work in alternative institutions for preschool children, it is necessary to develop creative pedagogical thinking, independence, motivational and value attitude to the profession, readiness for further self-education. Based on the results of the research, the key aspects of training future preschool education specialists for the development of conscious citizenship and environmental values of students were determined.

국내 체험환경교육 프로그램의 운영 현황 및 개선 방안 연구 (Site-Based Environmental Education in the Republic of Korea : Current Status and Needs)

  • This article describes the current status of site-based environmental education (EE) in the Republic of Korea. Implications for site-based EE program development and operation are presented and recommendations for an improvement are provided. Questionnaires were mailed to 205 schools and organizations where site-based EE programs operated in 2002 with funding from the Korean Ministry of Environment. The questionnaire was designed and used to examine the scope, operation, and needs of site-based EE programs. The response rate was 27.3%. The results of the survey indicated that 'awareness', 'participation', and 'attitude' were addressed by the program goals and objectives more than 'knowledge' and 'skills'. The survey also indicated that activities in the programs were not variable and most were teacher/instructor-centered. Most of the programs reflected the 'connection with everyday life, direct experience and sensitivity'. There were some difficulties in motivating students and finding a good location and qualified instructional staff. Needs included well-designed program development and dissemination, professional development, increased funding support, and more effective program evaluation.
