  • This study investigates an undergraduate student's environmental club experience by employing a biographical research method. The informant has been member of the environmental club since he is a freshman. The purpose of this study is three points. First, which theoretical framework is suitable to explain the characteristics of environmental club experience ? Second, what is the characteristics of the informant's environmental club experience analysed by means of the theoretical framework ? Finally, what is the educational meaning of environmental club experience ? As a result, I find that environmental identity is very powerful framework to explain the characteristics of environmental club experience. Also, I explain the informant's environmental club experience as the formation of environmental identity by changes in three aspects. In the informant's life, cultural world of environment/environmental movement becomes salient which is closely connected with development of agency in the world and understanding how environmental problems can be solved. It is argued that environmental club experience has educational meaning in the studies and practices of environmental education, as follows. Environmental club experience has implications of redefining the goals of environmental education, and improving environmental problem solving learning. Finally, the informant's environmental identity is considered as reflexive identity which is formed through personal reflection of his experience.

  • A rapidly shifting, hyper-sensitive modern fashion industry, coupled with an increasingly developing global environmental concern, has seen to an ever-imperative role for corporate social responsibility (CSR) to play in the successful operation of fashion companies. This study primarily investigates effective measures for successful CSR implementation in both corporate and consumer domains, looking at Patagonia, an exemplar company with an environmental mission, to understand the central contributions of active consumer engagement to the success of CSR initiatives. We explore consumer admiration as a concept necessary to elevate CSR practices from image maintenance to genuine engagement and advocacy, and how such admiration could be cultivated on the consumer-side, investigating perceived CSR authenticity and corporate self-sacrifice as primary determinants. Specifically, we speculate the asymmetric role of consumers' moral identity, revealing that moral identity symbolization positively interacts with both determinants while negatively moderating the relationship of these intentions and consumer admiration. We derive our analysis from diverse international and Korean data, concluding with theoretical and managerial implications for domestic and international companies in pursuit of environmental CSR campaigns that bridge consumer and company, as well as limitations and future research directions.

  • A study on the image identification of urban streetscape is valuable for illuminating identity that is not yet fully approached in the field of environmental design. This analysis of urban streetscape for image identification allows us to make a more detailed exploration of an important approaching methods in dealing with the structural characteristics of identity. As a matter of fact, the earlier indirect studies on this image identification were made by environmental designers, such as architectural and urban designer in the field of environmental perception and came to its environmental cognition & environmental pattern research with assistances by such researchers as K. Lynch A. Rapoport & Christopher Alexander. Through its environmental perception research, we can see its structural characteristics that is aesthetic & visual structural contents of physical environmental elements. And we can see its cognitive characteristics through the environmental cognitive research, that is continuity, territoriality, identity of place, uniqueness or individuality, meaning & symbolism. Through its environmental pattern research, we can see its physical, socio - economic, cultural and symbolic pattern identification contents, that is physical form of the city, style of the street, pattern of streetscape, socio- economic & geographical locality, arid life cycle, life style, common style of the behavior, cultural pattern of the activity, socio - cultural expression of the symbol. In these process, we can set up a set of the environmental design criterias from those three integral studies for identity. And for an environmental research, Tongsung-Ro around the CBD (central business district) in Taegu City was selected for a case study, because this streetscape is suitable for that approaching methods in this study.

It involves 400 employees from the target study area, using questionnaires to collect data from January to February 2021, with purposive and convenient sampling methods. Data analysis employed structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that green corporate identity has a significant impact on employees' green personal-social identification and green business performance; meanwhile, employees' green social identification has a significant impact on green business performance. However, employees' green personal identification has a significant impact on green business performance only through employees' green social identification. Green corporate identity can increase the corporate' green business performance via economic, environmental and social aspects through employees' green personal-social identification. The findings suggest that green corporate communication through visual identity, employee behaviors, culture, policy products and services in response to environmental forces and drivers to create the green corporate identity is deemed to systematically work. Furthermore, the findings also suggest that employees' green identification on both personal and social levels can be a significant issue that the managers in automobile manufacturers should pay attention as well.
