환경 소양 신장을 위한 환경논술 워크북 개발 (Development of the Environment Writing Workbook to Enhance Environmental Literacy of Elementary School Student)

  • The purpose of this paper is to development of the environment writing workbook to enhance environmental literacy of elementary school student. To achieve the purpose, the concrete paper processes are as follows. First, in order to development of the environment writing workbook to enhance environmental literacy, Writing of Environment Club students did various writing activities as an experiment. The environment writing workbook is developed using the students product feedback. Second, the environment writing workbook was used for the 5th graders in the elementary school for 10 weeks to see how the environment writing workbook would enhance the students' environmental literacy. The results of this paper are as follows. It's application was meaningful in the level of p<.05 in point of view of environmental literacy as a result of the pre-post test in the experiment group, who is one of the 5th grade classes in the elementary school. In conclusion, the environment writing workbook is very effective to enhance the seven parts of environmental literacy out of eleven. It is necessary because the environment writing helps to think of environmental issue deeply, learn about regional environmental problems, establish sound environment sense of value, give the opportunities to participate in activities.

Strength characteristics of granulated ground blast furnace slag-based geopolymer concrete

  • In recent years, geopolymer cements, have gained significant attention as an environmental-friendly type of cement. In this experimental research, effects of different alkaline activator solutions and variations of associated parameters, including time of addition, concentration, and weight ratio, on the mechanical strengths of Granulated Ground Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS)-based Geopolymer Concrete (GPC) were investigated. Investigation of the effects of simultaneous usage of KOH and NaOH solutions on the tensile and flexural strengths of GGBFS-based GPC, and the influence of NaOH solution addition time delay on the mechanical strengths is among the novel aspects investigated in this research. four series of mix designs and corresponding specimen testing is conducted to study different parameters of the active alkali solutions on GPC mechanical strengths. The results showed that addition of NaOH to the mix after 3 min of mixing KOH and Na2SiO3 with dry components (1/3 of the total mixing duration) resulted in the highest compressive, tensile and flexural strengths amongst other cases. Moreover, increasing the KOH concentration up to 12 M resulted in the highest compressive strength, while weight ratio of 1.5 for Na2SiO3/KOH was the optimum value to achieve highest compressive strengths.

유용미생물을 활용한 창의적 체험활동이 초등학생들의 환경소양에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Creative Hands-on Activities using Effective Microorganisms on Elementary School Students' Environmental Literacy)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the creative hands-on activities using EM (effective microorganisms) that can enhance the environmental literacy of learners, and to examine the effect of its application. The program was composed of 10 sessions, including biological knowledge and ecosystem status of microorganisms, practical activities that stimulate the environmental behavior and emotion of elementary school students, and career design related to their aptitude and occupation in future. This program can also be connected to the domains of creative hands-on activities, that is, career activities, club activities, self-regulated activities and voluntary service activities. In this study, two classes of 3th grades of elementary school in Seoul were selected and divided into two groups. The experimental group to undergo the program of creative hands-on activities using EM showed higher environmental literacy than the control group. In the concrete, it is proven that this program contributed to the improvement of learners' environmental emotion, skill, and behavior. When interviewed with experimental group, we found that sustained EM hands-on activities were conducted in collaboration with their families, and they became more aware of the utilities of EM and could participate in the activities more interestingly. In conclusion, the creative hands-on activities program was very effective and helped elementary students to change their environmental literacy in positive ways.

친환경학교 가꾸기 프로젝트 활동이 중학생의 환경 인식에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Eco-Friendly School Project Activity on Middle School Students' Environmental Awareness)

  • Project-based learning is an innovative approach to learning that teaches a multitude of strategies critical for success in the twenty-first century. Students drive their own learning through inquiry activity, as well as work collaboratively to research and create projects that reflect their knowledge. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of eco-friendly school project activity which is applied from one of project-based learning approach on learning outcomes of students in ninth-grade environment course in middle school. The participants were given a questionnaire before and after the environmental project activities. In solving the school environment issues themselves, students have practiced invaluable problem solving skills. This study indicates that school students' awareness about the environment has positively changed by experiencing the eco-friendly school project. In addition, this project affects students' variety of environmental awareness. This project could be applied to school environmental education programs and to environment lessons, developmental activities or club activities for a positive impact on students' environmental awareness.

골프장 조경수를 가해하는 해충 종류에 관한 연구 (Study on Insect Pests of Landscaping Trees in Golf Courses)

  • 본 연구는 골프장의 조경수에 피해를 주는 해충의 종류와 피해를 조사하여 골프장 조경수 해충관리의 기초 자료를 제공하고자 경남 양산의 통도골프장과 진해의 용원골프장, 경북 경산의 대구골프장, 부산 금정의 동래베네스트골프장에서 수행하였다. 조사지 골프장의 22목 33과 54속 88종의 조경수에서 확인 된 해충은 6목 34과 44속 60종이었다. 대부분의 조경수에서는 2종 이하의 해충이 확인되었으나 아까시나무, 벚나무, 밤나무, 떡갈나무, 굴참나무에서는 5종 이상의 해충이 확인되었다. 대부분의 해충들은 2종 이하의 조경수를 가해하였으나 주둥무늬차색풍뎅이는 41속 67종의 조경수에서 피해가 확인되었다. 조사 골프장의 조경수에서는 딱정벌레목과 매미목 해충이 36.4%와 36.3%로 많이 발생하고 있었다. 발생 빈도가 높은 해충은 9%였고 매우 드물게 발생한 해충은 73%였다. 섭식형태별 해충의 비율은 저작형이 49%, 흡즙형 해충이 51%였다.

난지형 잔디의 건조 스트레스를 측정하기 위한 센서 기술 연구 (Sensor-based Technology for Assessing Drought Stress in Two Warm-Season Turfgrasses)

  • 본 연구는 토양 수분함량을 즉시 파악할 수 있는 Time Domain Radiometer(TDR)과 식물의 광합성 시 잎에서 반사되는 Reflectance를 통하여 식물의 상태를 파악할 수 있는 Multi-spectral radiometer(MSR)를 사용하여 난지형 잔디인 'Sea Isle 1' Seashore paspalum 과 'Floratam' St. Augustinegrass를 대상으로 토양수분함량과 Reflectance와의 상관관계를 파악하고자 시작하였다. 본 연구를 통해 토양 수분함량이 660, 694 wavelengths와 NDVI, LAI, stress index에서 높은 상관관계를 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 Sensor-based technology가 잔디의 수분요구 시점을 미리 파악할 수 있는 기술의 기초 자료로서 활용될 수 있으며 여러 다른 Sensor-based technology를 이용한 연구로 확대될 수 있을 것이다.

창의적 체험활동과 연계한 초등학교 지속가능발전교육 프로그램의 개발과 적용 (The Development and Application of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Program related to Creative-Experience Activity for Elementary School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the ESD program related to creative-experience activity, and to examine the effect of its application. The program was composed of 13 sessions for fifth-grade class in elementary school, including all of the environmental, economic, and social aspects of ESD. This program was connected to the domains of creative hands-on activities, that is, career activities, club activities, self-regulated activities and voluntary service activities. The results was as follows. First, the experimental group to undergo the ESD program related to creative-experience activity did not show significant differences in environmental literacy compared to the control group, but it is proven that this program contributed to the improvement of learners' environmental emotion, skill, and participation. Second, the experimental group did not show significant differences in scientific attitude compared to the control group, but it was considered to affect the elementary students' criticism, self-esteem, and patience in positive and effective manner. In conclusion, more ESD program that cultivate elementary school students' environmental literacy need to be developed continuously, and more intensive research should be conducted to earn better understanding of ESD.

목포시 중학교 환경교육 현황 및 학생들의 환경에 대한 인식조사 (The Situation of Environmental Education and A Survey on the Perception of Environment in Middle School Students, Mokpo City)

  • A survey of middle school students and teachers in Mokpo city has been done to understand the perception of environment of students and the present situation of environmental education in middle school. Only 2 of the 14 middle schools have chosen the environmental education course as a required subject. The majority of middle-school students in Mokpo city have learned the environmental education as a subordinate course included in the other subjects such as science, social science or technology. The environmental education in school has been done mostly through non-subject activities such as club activity, group work etc. The survey shows that almost all students think the environmental pollution is serious problem(83% of respondents) and they are especially interested in separate garbage collection(72%) and environmental conservation activity(63.9%) to protect the environment. The concerns about the environmental problems of students(57.7%) has increased after environmental education regardless educational methods or subjects. The students and teachers think that environmental education in school has not been carried out enough and almost all of them(68.4% of students, 97.5% of teachers) agree that the environmental education should be done as an independent subject. In order to more practical and effective environmental education, many opportunities to experience environmental conservation activities should be given during the environmental education course and the environmental education should be separated from other subjects to be taught independently. Moreover, it might be necessary to increase proportion of teachers in environmental disciplines and to develop various teaching methods.

새로운 자원관리 및 환경 패러다임에 대한 산림정책 이해관계자 집단의 태도 (Attitudes of Korean Forest Policy Interest Groups toward the New Environment and Resource Management Paradigms)

  • 본 연구는 한국 산림청의 다양한 이해관계자 집단이 서구사회에서 제기되고 있는 새로운 자원관리 패러다임 및 환경 패러다임에 대해 어떤 태도를 지니고 있는지 알아보기 위하여 2차에 걸쳐 조사를 실시하였다. 제1차 조사는 1995년도 9월부터 11월까지 산주단체, 임산업단체, 한국산악회, 자연공원협회, 임정연구회 등 5개 집단에 대하여 실시하였으며, 2차 조사는 2006년도 12월부터 2007년 1월까지 임업후계자협회 강원지회, 강릉 생명의숲, 백두대간보전회 등 3개 집단에 대하여 실시하였다. 연구결과 이해관계자 집단에 따라 산림의 다목적 이용, 새로운 환경 패러다임과 산림자원관리 패러다임 등에 대한 태도가 다른 것으로 나타났다. 산주단체, 임산업단체, 임업후계자협회 등과 같이 목재생산 중심의 임업을 중시하는 집단은 자연공원협회, 생명의숲, 한국산악회, 백두대간보전회 등과 같은 환경보전 지향적인 집단에 비해 산림의 다목적 이용을 더 선호하는 반면 새로운 자원관리 패러다임과 환경 패러다임에 대해선 상대적으로 덜 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 새로운 환경 패러다임을 지지하는 선구집단은 환경보전단체라는 기존의 연구 결과들과 부합한다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 산림정책 방향 설정과 산림자원의 이용과 관리방식 결정 등과 관련된 한국의 산림정책 이해관계자 집단의 태도를 이해하는데 좋은 정보를 제공해 주며, 앞으로 산림자원관리와 관련된 정책결정에 있어서 많은 시사점을 줄 수 있다고 판단된다.
