The objective of ECMS(Environmentally Conscious Manufacturing Systems) is to consider environmental effects through the entire product life cycle from product development stage to design, manufacturing, supplying, using and disposing stage. Recently, environment-oriented recycling, reusing and manufacturing technologies have been researched actively in every engineering fields. In the field of chemical engineering, HHS (Health Hazard Scores) which classifies and analyzes hazardous materials in production processes has been presented. Metal cutting processes also have a lot of harmful factors, and especially hazardous components in cutting fluids have been known to have a bad effect on workers and working area. However, research works such as HHS have been little accomplished in metal cutting processes. In this research, a environmentally conscious machining process is presented by classifying hazardous components in cutting fluids, by using LCA(Life Cycle Assessments) and HHS method, and by evaluating environmental effects from cutting fluids.

Productivity and environmental conservation in nowadays trade-off and serious problem in agriculture. Precision farming is developing for solving the trade-off problem using systems approach and variable management. The systems approach is attributed to aiming at information-oriented agriculture, environmental-friendly sustainable agriculture, and complex system optimization . The variable management is composed of describing variability , variable-rate technology and decision support system. Three levels of technology development and three farming strategies are introduced for having a prospect. Describing the variability is the first step to promote it. Precision farming could be available for small scale farming as well as big scale farming. Paddy field precision farming will undergo in its distinctive way.

In this paper, we present the software part of the intelligent data processing unit (IDPU), which plays an important role in SiMACS. The software system processes ECG, EEG, EMG, blood pressure, respiration, temperature signals, and extracts some information about patient conditions. It displays the patient condition information and the signal data synchronously, and manages them together with other patient personal data in a network-based client/server environment. The software system is designed in an object-oriented paradigm, and implemented in C++ as a window-based application program.

o Korea consumed total 198.5 million TOE and the portion of crude oil n was 100.4 million TOE in 2002 which marked the 10th largest energy consuming country and ranks the $4^{th}$ crude oil consumer in the world. o Industries consumed 51.5% of the total energy and 93% of industrial energy was used at the manufacturing industries such as steel, textile, chemical, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and timber industries, which lead to energy intensive industries numbered 110,000. o Also Korea ranks the $10^{th}$ greenhouse gas emission countries of the world (134.9 million TC) which may cause Korean industries to suffer severely during the implementation of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). o Therefore, the target of the study is to develop a model for the analysis and design of industrial complex by integration of the energy usage and environmental problems. o The research work contents are as followings: -Analysis of Korea energy consumption -Concept of the integration of energy and environment problems - Basic concept of industrial complex planning - Case study (1) - Recommendation and conclusion

The best feature of Hotels is they have 24 business hours providing various services. But Interior designers can't change space to answer every demands, it's mood can be changed by lighting design. Especially guest rooms have complex functions like space with habitability and office use. Well planed lighting design in guest rooms is an essential element to help creating interior space in designer's intention with cozy feeling. Here this study is purposed to present a desirable lighting environment satisfying future-oriented function and design throughout the latest examples' analysis of guest room carrying out various functions in hotels.

As information technology has been evolving, digital library emerges as a vision of future library. Many authors on digital library describe that the problems that today's libraries face would be completely solved by using digital technology. But it is su n.0, pposed that such technology oriented papers do not take care of what the library has been and should remain. This paper is prepared to identify what core elements of library services being provided in traditional environment must be transferred to the digital library. For this purpose, firstly historical transition from traditional library to digital discussed. Secondly, library's fundamental service functions are analysed from three points of view-library as cultural and social institution, library as intellectual reality, library as a collection. And 'control zone' concept is also investigated as a new possibility of academic digital libraries. In contrast to open zone in which information is not controled at all as in internet, in control zone, information is selected and maintained by academic library community, retaining such essential library functions as selection.

This paper conducted both numerical and theoretical studies to investigate the composite action of notched circular concrete-filled steel tubular (CFT) stub columns under axial compression and established a theoretical method to predict their ultimate bearing capacity. 3D finite element (FE) analysis was conducted to simulate the composite action and the results were in good agreement with experimental results on circular CFT stub columns with differently oriented notches in steel tubes. Parametric study was conducted to understand the effects of different parameters on the mechanical behavior of circular CFT stub columns and also the composite action between the steel tube and the core concrete. Based on the results, a theoretical formula was proposed to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of notched CFT stub columns under compression with consideration of the composite action between the steel tube and the core concrete.

Risk analysis is time-consuming and expensive process〔1〕〔6〕. Automated risk analysis tools have been widely used in industry and government to support decision making process and reduce cost. However, difficulties in materializing impact of threats and fast-changing network environments make analysis process more complicated and less trusted since impacts are relative in network environments. HAWK system is developed to improve the accuracy of analysis result in network-oriented environment. It provides user-friendly environments and considers network environments as primary assets.

In distributed object oriented environment based upon wide heterogeneous network, effective cooperation policies between/among distributed objects are needed to resolve a complexity of management of distributed objects because of growing of a large stale of systems. Thus, in this paper, we propose three trading cooperation models between/among traders for supporting a high speed and a wide selection of trader service for clients, by considering three different cooperation models(light weight trader, simple negotiation and federation) depending upon their facilities, goals, and weights of goals.

There is a need for education that can be effectively education rather than one-sided audiovisual-oriented education. Serious games capable of contextual design and iterative training of various scenarios are easy to use and spread contents. The effects of safety education in childhood and adolescence, which are the most active periods of cognitive development, are most effective compared to other age group. The purpose of this study is to propose the guideline and components of the contents development for youth safety education using functional games.
