  • The purpose of this study was to analyze landslide susceptibility in the Pyeongchang area using Weight of Evidence (WOE) and Evidential Belief Function (EBF) as probability models and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) as a machine learning model in a geographic information system (GIS). This study examined the widespread shallow landslides triggered by heavy rainfall during Typhoon Ewiniar in 2006, which caused serious property damage and significant loss of life. For the landslide susceptibility mapping, 3,955 landslide occurrences were detected using aerial photographs, and environmental spatial data such as terrain, geology, soil, forest, and land use were collected and constructed in a spatial database. Seventeen factors that could affect landsliding were extracted from the spatial database. All landslides were randomly separated into two datasets, a training set (50%) and validation set (50%), to establish and validate the EBF, WOE, and ANN models. According to the validation results of the area under the curve (AUC) method, the accuracy was 74.73%, 75.03%, and 70.87% for WOE, EBF, and ANN, respectively. The EBF model had the highest accuracy. However, all models had predictive accuracy exceeding 70%, the level that is effective for landslide susceptibility mapping. These models can be applied to predict landslide susceptibility in an area where landslides have not occurred previously based on the relationships between landslide and environmental factors. This susceptibility map can help reduce landslide risk, provide guidance for policy and land use development, and save time and expense for landslide hazard prevention. In the future, more generalized models should be developed by applying landslide susceptibility mapping in various areas.

  • BACKGROUND: Residual organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) are designated as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) by Stockholm Convention because they bioaccumulate through the food web, and pose a risk of causing adverse effect to human health and the environment. Apple and pear is economic crop in agriculture, and its cultivation area and yield has been increased. Therefore, we tried to investigate the OCPs residue in apple and pear orchard soils and fruits. METHODS AND RESULTS: Extraction and clean-up method were developed using the modified QuEChERS method for residual organochlorine pesticides (ROCPs) in apple and pear orchard soil and fruits. Recovery and limit of quantitation (LOQ) of ROCPs in soil and fruits were 75.4-101.4 and 76.9-93.4%, 0.03-0.21 and $0.6-1.2{\mu}g/kg$, respectively. Detected ROCPs in apple and pear orchard soil was 2,4-DDT, 4,4-DDD, 4,4-DDE, 4,4-DDT, and endosulfan sulfate, the residues were 2.2, 1.9-48.0, 1.3-84.1, 90.6-863.1, and $11.3-239.0{\mu}g/kg$, respectively. But five pesticides in all fruit samples were not detected. CONCLUSION: These results showed that ROCPs residues in apple and pear orchard soil had no effect on safety of agricultural products.

  • Recently, the Marine Corps of South Korea started to introduce and possess its own weapon systems. On the other hand, the level of maintenance is lower than that of other military forces, and depending on the other military forces, maintenance occurs intermittently when transporting weapons systems. In this case, unmanned vehicles can be used to reduce the cost, manpower, time, and risk of carrying weapons systems. In addition, the transport of weapon systems between islands or between an island and inland of the Marine Corps using unmanned vehicles is easier in terms of the maintenance level and surrounding environment than other military forces. This paper compares the improvement of operational availability and cost of spare parts in terms of logistics support when using unmanned vehicles in the West Sea area, and quantitatively show the efficiency and usability of the weapon system. To compare operational availability and costs for spare parts, a simulation was performed based on the OO weapons system between islands or between an island and inland, and the results were compared and analyzed.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level and intensity of emotional labor of physical therapists and occupational therapists, and to identify the factors affecting them. Cross-sectional study was conducted on physical therapists and occupational therapists across the country using self-populated questionnaire. A total of 2,000 questionnaires were distributed to retrieve 1,500 questionnaires(75%), of which 1,374 questionnaires(68.7%) were finally analyzed, excluding 126 that answered duplicates or were missing answers. Multi-linear regression was performed to identify factors on the strength of emotional labor. According to the analysis results, high-risk groups in the areas under 'Emotional demand and regulation' and 'Overload and conflict in customer service' and 'Emotional disharmony and hurt' were 29.4%, 19.0% and 22.0% respectively, especially in 'Emotional demand and regulation', 'Overload and conflict in customer service', 'Emotional disharmony and hurt' for women working days, and 49% of daily work hours. Accordingly, we will be able to regularly screen physical therapists and occupational therapists for dangerous groups, and manage the intensity of emotional labor through the creation of a therapist's working environment, such as limiting overtime hours and assigning appropriate number of patients. Through this study, the grounds and methods for mitigating the negative effects of emotional labor and mediating emotional labor should be provided.

  • This study aims to analyze the environment for the open-source records system and to identify the risk and requirements for the success of the strategy in Korea. For this, Chapter 2 presented a review of the strategic benefits of open source to public organizations, developers, and users. It also discussed the process of cooperatively developing and releasing the source code and the technology infrastructure supporting open source. In Chapter 3, six representative open-source projects in the field of records management were selected, and case studies were conducted. To derive comprehensive implications, we have divided the main development body of open-source projects into international organizations, international cooperation systems, national archives, and software development companies. We also analyzed the background and purpose of each project, the agents of development and funding, the governance model, the development period and cost, the business model and software architecture, the community composition, and the licensing strategy. Through this, we have derived four critical success factors. In terms of technology, a component-based design was required; therefore, we proposed a microservice architecture and a model-view-controller design pattern. Next, it was necessary to reestablish system requirements of records center and archives. Moreover, we also proposed a dual licensing strategy to allow developers to easily participate in open-source projects. Lastly, we emphasized a strong governance structure and an effective cooperation framework to create a sustainable community. For a record system to be open-source successfully in an organization-centered market, the roles of software developers and end users should be exercised more in the community. To achieve this, it is important to build various collaborative tools and development infrastructure from a planning stage to a centralized one.

  • Purpose: In 2012, a revised guideline for acute acetaminophen overdose was proposed in the UK, recommending that the treatment threshold should be lowered to 100 mcg/ml at 4 hours after ingestion without risk stratification of hepatotoxicity. However, the poison centers in some developing countries do not have laboratory resources to provide serum drug levels in time. The primary aim of the study is to evaluate the cut-off value of reported dose per kilogram to determine when N-acetylcysteine treatment is warranted under the revised guideline. Methods: Data were collected retrospectively from the toxicology registry of an urban emergency medical center between 1st January 2010 and 30th June 2017. Inclusion criteria were single acute overdose of more than 75 mg/kg in 15 hours from ingestion and over 14 years of age. Subgroups were created by 25 mg/kg increments of reported dose, then sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were calculated for the cut-off values of 100 mg/kg, 125 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg and 175 mg/kg for toxic serum level over '100-treatment line'. Results: A total of 99 patients were enrolled in the study; 24 patients showed toxic serum levels (24.2%). Zero of 17 patients with an ingestion dose under 100 mg/kg showed toxic level (0%), and 0 of 15 under 125 mg/kg (0%), 2 of 14 under 150 mg/kg (14.3%), and 4 of 12 under 175 mg/kg (33.3%) had toxic levels. The higher the ingested dose per kilogram of weight, the higher the frequency of the toxic serum concentration on the first test (${\chi}^2$ test for trend, ${\chi}^2=22.66$, p-value<0.001) and the sensitivity of each value was 100%, 100%, 92% and 76%. Conclusion: In acute single acetaminophen intoxication, the ingestion dose of 100 mg/kg of weight will be useful in determining the need for the N-acetylcysteine antidote in the indigent laboratory environment.

  • Virtual Training is an educational exercise in which the environment or the situation is virtually implemented for specific training and proceed like a real situation. In recent years, the virtual reality technology has developed rapidly, and the demand for experiencing situation that are not directly experienced in the real world is increasing more and more in virtual reality. Particularly, there is an increasing demand of contents for hands-on training and virtual training for equipment training that replaces high-risk and high-cost industry training. The virtual training contents have been developed and utilized for the purpose of technical training. However, it is known that virtual training is more effective when it is used as a supplementary training material or combined with e-learning contents rather than replacing one training course with virtual training contents because purpose and effect are different from general technical training course. In this study, we explored the development method for effective utilization of electrohydraulic servo control process, which is the virtual reality contents developed in 2017 in combination with e-learning contents. In addition, in order to establish a teaching and learning strategy, we actually develop and operate a case studies using virtual training contents. Surveys and case studies are conducted to investigate the effects of teaching and learning strategies applied in the classroom on students and their educational usefulness.

  • Objectives : Korean medicine practice is not specifically described in medical law, and then has always been a quarrel. So far The criteria for judgment in Korean Medicine Doctor's Medical Devices Using should clinically prove it only by Korean medicine theory and academic Traditionally descending from old ancestors. Comprehensively review of Korean Medicine Doctor's Medical Devices Using and Duty of Care, and then present a new understandings to determine future Korean Medicine Practice. Method : An existing court cases of Korean Medicine Doctor's Medical Devices Using and Duty of Care were reviewed. After reviewing various papers published for several years, various opinions were reviewed and suggested. Results : The range of Korean Medicine Doctor's Medical Devices Using has changed since the 1951 National Medical Law stipulated Korean medicine as medical professionals. The issue of the recent ruling that distinguishes medical practice from Korean medicine practice were condensed into what emphasis to interpret amongst 1) The basic principles of learning, 2) Curriculum and professionalism, 3) Risks. The Constitutional Court's ruling was important in order of 'Risk', 'curriculum and expertise', and 'basic principles of learning.' A duty of Care means an obligation to pay attention to something. A duty of Care does not mean a "highest level," but requires a "best care" and does "best under given conditions." Even in the duty of Care, Because Korean medicine has a purpose to protect and promote the health of the people, Some standards of western medicine have to be adapted to the current general medical technology. Korean Medicine doctors can recognize the duty of care in the "some basic range" of knowledge belonging to western medicine. Conclusions : The interpretation of Korean Medicine practice are currently in compatible the argument that should clearly divide Korean medicine from Western medicine, and that should be changed in light of the changing medical environment. Therefore If Korean medicine's standard is applied to the extent to which Korean Medicine doctors are educated, it is necessary to define a new definition to actively interpret Korean Medical practice. The academic basis of Korean medicine and the level of Korean medicine practice based on the books that are traditionally available, and then current textbooks of Korean Medicine College, Korean Medicine Clinical Care Guidelines, and classification of Korean standard medical practices should be standardized. Increasingly, Korean Medicine practice should be interpreted according to reality, focusing on protecting and promoting the health of the people rather than academic differences.

  • This study analyzed the effect of the number of deaths of circulatory system diseases according to 12-day short-term exposure of carbon monoxide from January 2010 to December 2018, and predicted the future treatment cost of circulatory system diseases according to increased carbon monoxide concentration. Data were extracted from Air Korea of Korea Environment Corporation and Korea Statistical Office, and analyzed using Poisson regression analysis and ARIMA intervention model. For statistical processing, SPSS Ver. 21.0 program was used. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the relationship between the impact of short-term carbon monoxide exposure on death of circulatory system diseases from the day to the previous 11 days, it was found that the previous 11 days had the highest impact. Second, with the increase in carbon monoxide concentration, the future circulatory system disease treatment cost was estimated at 10,123 billion won in 2019, higher than the observed value of 9,443 billion won at the end of December 2018. In addition, when summarized by month, it can be seen that the cost of treatment for circulatory diseases increases from January to December, reflecting seasonal fluctuations. Through such research, the future for a healthy life for all citizens can be realized by distributing various devices and equipment utilizing IoT to preemptively respond to the increase in air pollutants such as carbon monoxide.
