This paper studies the relationship between the college entrance examination scores and college mathematics achievements of the freshman, who are the students of college of technology and management in Yanbian University, by employing statistical analysis. First of all, we start from the correlation analysis of the majors and regions of students. Secondly, with gender and region as the classification, we divide the sample into two parts and test the mean significance, and we find that not only different gender but also different region have significant differences to college mathematics achievements. Thirdly, we use the college entrance examination scores as independent variable, and college mathematics achievement as the dependent variable to establish regression model. The model provides a realistic basis for the education department of our school, and provides reference value for the other major research.

One of the significant reforms is the college admissions process which all high school seniors are obliged to go through the High School Graduation Examination (HSGE). Despite its significance, there is lack of research to examine the effects of high-stakes and nationally standardized exams on students' learning experiences. By applying the concept of washback, the purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive qualitative analysis of students' perceptions and learning experiences when preparing for and taking the HSGE. Research design, data, and methodology - 20 high school seniors were participated in this study. This study utilized a stratified sampling methods and randomly selected participants. Result - This study revealed that the washback effect of the HSGE strongly existed in students' learning experiences. This study also found that there is a negative washback effect of the HSGE on students' learning, particularly for those living in rural areas although Vietnamese schools and communities shared unequal educational and socioeconomic resources. Conclusion - The results of this study would be useful for policymakers to provide better assessment system to enhance students' ability and reduce exam pressure. The current 7th National Mathematics Curriculum had been developed as a learner-centered curriculum and begun to apply to high school since 2002. This paper discusses issues related to the high school mathematics curriculum application into high school. The mathematics curriculum for grades 11 and 12 was developed primarily as a learner-centered one to provide five elective courses according to the needs of students based on their future occupation and attitudes. Discussion starts with the differences of the five elective courses: the three of them have dependent and sequential structure and the two are totally different with regards to their levels of difficulty and the content they span. It is claimed that the frameworks of the 2005 National Ability Test for the College Entrance and the minimal enrollment requirements of several influential colleges' admission policy make the high school mathematics education very rigid, unflexible, and anti-educational. Several suggestions to recover and imp-rove the high school mathematics education and the spirit of the 7th curriculum are presented.

Then expansion of job domain, improvement of quality level, the improvement of the working conditions for optician can be accomplished by the unification of university system and reduction of entrance numbers for department of ophthalmic optics.
