We investigated the absorption enhancing effect of BuOH extract of the root of Aralia elata (BERAE) in Caco-2 cell monolayers and rats. At the concentration of both 0.04% and 0.08% (w/v). BERAE decreased the transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) values and increased the permeability of intact chondroitin sulfate (CS) and its digestion products as hydrophilic macromolecules in a dose dependent manner. We also evaluated the cytotoxicity of BERAE for the determination of a proper concentration as an absorption enhancer. (omitted)

Acanthopanax cortex (Acanthopanax sessiliflorum, Araliaceae, KP VIII), an important herbal drug, has been used as tonic, antistress and immuno-enhancing drugs in Korea. And Peiplocae cortex(Periploca sepium, Asclepiadaceae, CP 2000) has been used as cardiotonic, anti-inflammatory, and sedative effect in china. These are called “Namogapi” of Acanthopanax cortex and “Bukogapi” of Periplocae cortex in Chinese herbal market. These herbal medicines are sometimes circulated as same herbal medicine “Ogapi”. This study developed and evaluated a learning model to improve collaborative problem-solving skills for nursing students taking physiology courses. This one-group pretest-posttest design used the jigsaw cooperative learning method on 30 nursing students from one local university. We analyzed the effect of a cooperative problem- solving learning model using SPSS 21.0 to compare changes in the students' collaborative self-efficacy, problem-solving abilities, and team-member exchange. As a result, the participants showed significant increases in collaborative self-efficacy, problem-solving ability, and team-member exchange after experiencing cooperative problem- solving learning model. Therefore, we will help nursing students improve their communication skills by enhancing their collaborative self-efficacy and help them solve problems effectively in conflict situations.

This study investigates the resistance of sustainable ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) on steel reinforcement corrosion. For enhancing the sustainability of UHPC, concrete mixes were prepared with ordinary Portland cement main binder, and mixes with moderate to high percentages of blast furnace cement (CEM III), fly ash (FA), and slag cement as partial replacements of the full quantity of the used cement. Linear polarization resistance technique was employed to estimate the electrochemical behavior of the concrete specimens. Results showed that the compressive strength and the resistance of steel to corrosion in marine environments can be enhanced by improving the sustainability of UHPC through incorporation of CEM III, FA, and slag cement. FA replacement of up to 50% with the addition of 15% SF content produced better compressive strength and steel corrosion resistance than slag cement whether with the use of ordinary Portland cement or blast furnace cement as the main binder.

This study suggested the environmental components for open space in a healing environment based on the social support approach for integrating and enhancing users' activities and interactions. The physical environments of the open space in healing facilities should be suggested by social support design and support the interactions of various users. Particularly architectural environment conditions should reinforce the contribution to the revitalization of medical facilities based on improving the healing effect of patients through mutual exchange of users. The open space environment conditions influence users' healing process with physical design factors and users' interactions, and the flexible environments based on the social support that is crucial for circulation and mutual exchange of users. The open space transformation, integration of technology, and wayfinding system with color and signage also allow users to improve the space experience and easy access. The environmental components of open space design should include easy access for user inflow, flexible layout for comfort, access to outdoor spaces, integration of warm color schemes for relaxation, personalization of spaces with artwork, and visual interest through the use of textures and materials.

Probiotics provide a symbiotic relationship and beneficial effects by balancing the human intestinal microbiota. The relationships between microbiota changes and various diseases may predict health abnormalities and diseases. Treatment with vitamins and probiotics is one therapeutic approach. To evaluate the effect of probiotics on vitamin absorption, we chose Lactobacillus rhamnosus CBT-LR5 treatment, which has resistance to vitamin C-inducible toxicity, with vitamins in high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity models. CBT-LR5 affected the absorption of micronutrients, such as ionic minerals and water-soluble vitamins. An increase in vitamin C absorption by CBT-LR5 enhanced the antioxidant response in HFD-induced obesity models. Increased vitamin B absorption by CBT-LR5 regulated lipid metabolism in HFD-induced obesity models. These favorable effects of CBT-LR5 on the absorption of vitamins should be investigated as candidate therapeutic target treatments for metabolic diseases.

Animal symbols exert a profound influence on humans. This can be likened to homeopathic magic, with its source tied to the symbol. It has been believed that consuming an animal or crafting items from its parts would imbue humans with the creature's powers, thereby enhancing its symbolic significance over time. An animal can have various symbolic meanings, and among them, those related to healing have been adopted as folk remedies. Therefore, in this study, we would like to examine an example in which animals were used in folk therapy as a symbol of healing in traditional Korean medicine through "Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)". In this context, 'healing' not only pertains to direct cures but also encompasses the use of amulets to fend off afflictions and bolster one's immunity. By looking at animals that have traditionally been used in folk remedies, it is possible to reaffirm the role of animals as healing symbols and to find ways to effectively use animal symbols to enhance the healing effect in the future by recognizing their value.

The current research examines whether and when cause marketing, whereby firms link product sales to the support of a charity or cause, can increase charitable giving and happiness. Previous research suggests that cause marketing might reduce charitable giving and happiness among consumers. However, the present research finds the opposite result by introducing nostalgia as a moderator; cause marketing can enhance consumers' charity giving when their nostalgia is triggered. Moreover, results show that charitable giving increased by cause marketing improves feelings of happiness, suggesting that people view charitable behavior as a means of enhancing happiness. Interestingly, charitable giving and happiness are promoted by the situational priming of nostalgic events, but not by chronic individual differences such as nostalgia proneness.

A SATA hard disk has been widely used in recent years and NCQ is one of its crucial features. Despite the development from IDE to SATA disk, there is still much room for improvement for a SATA disk. In addition, until now a hard disk is a black box to us and it is very hard to make research at the level of a disk controller. To enhance the performance of NCQ, we try to do I/O clustering over the requests, which combines multiple sequential requests into a single large one. To evaluate the effect of an I/O clustering mechanism, we created a simple but practical SATA hard disk simulator. Experimental results show that the proposed approach is effective in enhancing the I/O performance of a SATA disk.

Today, the tourism industry, unlike the past, is fused with various fields and is closely related to various fields, not just one field. In the case of the tourism industry, it leads to an increase in product sales through not only national import but also enhancing national image, forming a positive virtuous chain. As mentioned in order to verify the hypothesis presented in this study, pilot tests were conducted on about 50 copies of the data, and as a result, in-flight service (H1), flight service (H2), compensation service (H3), and reservation service (H4) It has been shown to have a positive effect on customer satisfaction, and when customer satisfaction is achieved, it naturally leads to reuse.
