  • Silicone was used in this study to enhance the oxygene permeability of gas separation membranes. PMP and PMMA were used to prepare the copolymers and IPN membranes, respectively. In the case of copolymers, there were two methodsCswelling and solvent evaporation) in this study and it was revealed that this preparation method affected the oxygene permeability. It was also shown that the IPN method brought the enhacement of oxygen permeability and slight decrease of separation factor. Regarding oxygen permeability 10 wt% of PMMA was the best composition of IPN membrane.

  • The microstructure and field emission properties of carbon nanotubes(CNT) grown by Ni-catalytic chemical vapor deposition(CVD) were investigated. CVD-grown CNT had a high density of curved shape with randomly oriented. It was found that an increase in electric field caused an increase in field emission current and field emission sites of CNT. The maximum field emission current density was measured to be 3.6 ㎃/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 2.5 V/$\mu\textrm{m}$, while the brightness of 56 cd/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was observed for the CNT-grown area of 0.8 $\textrm{cm}^2$ from a phosphor screen. Field emission current at constant electric field gradually decreased initially and then stabilized with time.

  • The differential global positioning system (DGPS) transmits a GPS enhancement signal using a top-loaded monopole antenna in the medium frequency range. The top-loaded antenna in the medium frequency band can attain a radiation efficiency on the order of 10%. The antenna ground plane characteristics affect the antenna radiation efficiency. To improve the radiation efficiency, it is necessary to install the antenna on a ground plane with large enough physical dimensions and good conductivity. The antenna radiation efficiency is a primary factor in determining the DGPS service area. The service area of the DGPS using a medium frequency band is dominantly affected by the antenna radiation efficiency. To determine antenna radiation efficiencies accurately, the antenna radiation efficiencies of DGPS are deduced from the propagation power in this paper. Based on the deduced antenna radiation efficiencies, the service area for the Korean nationwide-DGPS is analyzed and evaluated.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluation of impact factors, which are temperature and relative humidity on formaldehyde emission from MDF(Medium Density Fiberboard). The test was carried out at 4 specimens that were different of temperature and humidity by using small chamber system. Formaldehyde was sampled and analyzed by HPLC. The results of this study were as follows; 1) When the temperature increased from 25 to $35^{\circ}C$ at 50%, the emission rate of formaldehyde increased 1.0-1.6 times. 2) When the RH increased from 50% to 80% at $25^{\circ}C$, the emission rate of formaldehyde decreased 0.6 times. 3) The enhancement effect of temperature on Formaldehyde under RH of 50% was more significant than under RH of 80%.

  • We have made point electron sources using carbon nanotubes (CNTs). For the fabrication of point electron sources, CNTs were dispersed in a solution and attached on electrochemically etched W tips using electrophoresis. In our study, we have utilized various CNTs such as single-walled CNT (SWCNT), multiwalled CNT (MWCNT), and thin-MWCNT and threshold current, turn-on voltage, filed enhancement factor of each emitter have been studied upon a tube/bundle diameter and length. In addition, fieldemitted electron energy distribution of various CNT emitters is characterized.

  • For RF sensitivity enhancement, the previous assisted GPS acquisition architecture adopts not only the coherent integration technique but also the non-coherent integration technique since the long coherent integration time increases the number of the frequency search cells. But the non-coherent integration technique induces the squaring loss, which is the dominant factor among the acquisition losses of assisted GPS dealing with weak GPS signals. This paper proposes an efficient architecture for weak signal acquisition in assisted GPS. In this paper, it is explained that the proposed architecture reduces the squaring loss using a modified non-coherent integration technique. Furthermore, it is..

  • Thermal inflation is an additional inflationary mechanism before the big bang nucleosynthesis, which solves the moduli problem and naturally provides a plausible dark matter candidate. Thermal inflation leaves a slight enhancement followed by huge suppression of a factor of ~50 in the curvature and matter power spectrum, which can be expressed in terms of a single characteristic scale $k_b$. Here we describe the observability of the small-scale features of thermal inflation from various observations, such as CMB distortion, satellite galaxy abundance in the Milky-Way-sized galaxies, and 21-cm power spectrum before the epoch of reionization.

  • The method of Impinging jet was applied lots of part in industrial field as a cooling of as gas turbine blade, a annealing of metal and plastic sheets, drying of textile, veneer paper, X-ray medical devices, laser weapons and electronic components. This study's main factor is reciprocating Jet impingement perpendicular to the heated Surface. We researched the effect of heat transfer and enhancement with pulsating air jet. The pulsating air jet has an improvement in pulsating Frequencies((f= 0.5, 1, 1.5, 3Hz) and nozzle-to-plate distances($l/d=\;2{\sim}4,\;6{\sim}8,\;4{\sim}6,\;8{\sim}10$).

  • There are various sources causing a position error in a linear motor. This paper focuses on error sources from rotational motions of a table and friction. Rotational errors occur due to imperfections during manufacturing and/or assembly of guide ways, and cause a position error at locations of interest. Friction is another factor deteriorating the position error due to its highly nonlinear behavior. The position error of the linear motor was about 20∼30$\mu\textrm{m}$. After compensating the position errors due to rotational error motions and friction. the remaining errors become about 6~8$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 2~3$\mu\textrm{m}$, respectively. It is shown that the positional accuracy of a linear can be greatly improved by compensating the two error sources.

  • The further development of information, communication and digital media technologies requires the use of advanced, miniaturized semiconductor chips that operate at a high frequency. Die bonding and wire bonding methods for semiconductor packaging have been replaced by direct attachment to the substrate after forming a bump on the chip. However, the height of the bump or ball is an important factor for defects during assembly. This paper proposes an algorithm to measure the height of the bumps or balls in semiconductor packaging with greater accuracy. The performance of the proposed algorithm is experimentally validated. Non-contact 3D measurements of a shiny round ball is quite difficult, and it is not easy to obtain accurate data. This paper thus proposes an optical method and technique to improve the measurement accuracy.
