  • We report on the theoretical positron affinities of closed-shell atomic anions. The second-order many-body perturbation theory is applied taking the positron-electron interaction as a perturbation. The corrections for the complete basis set effects to the second order affinity are calculated based on the variational and nonvariational energy functionals of explicitly correlated geminals. It is shown that the explicitly correlated methods accelerate the convergence of the expansion significantly giving the account of the cusp behavior outside the orbital space.

  • The space power system for communication satellite which employs the direct energy transfer (DET) method consists of solar array, battry, shunt regulator, charger/discharger and power control unit (PCU). In this paper, the development of the DET power system charger/discharger unit and a microprocessor based PCU is developed for simplicity and flexiblity in the modificatin of control algorithm. A 28V bus voltage, 400W power rting power simulator is built and tested to verify the operation of the simulator at each mode and the stability of mode transition is analyzed.

  • This paper extends the results of Ellis and Rosen (1982 a) to some more general integrals and applies our main theorem to compute the specific free energy of some models in statistical mechanics. The general integrals of this paper mean the integrals with respect to the probability measures induced by the sample mean of n i.i.d. random variables taking values in a separable Banach space.

  • The surface made of dielectric materials can therefore become probable sites for damaging electrostatic discharges. Thanks to a specially equipped chandler, the spatial environment can be reproduced experimentally in the laboratory. In this paper, the behavior of high energy electrons injected in polymers such as PolyMethylMetaAcrylate (PMMA) and Kpton is studied. Results obtained by surface potential technique, pulse-electro acoustic device and a cell based on the split Faraday cup system are analyzed and discussed.

  • Roof gardens/Rooftop farm are most often found in urban environments. Plants have the ability to reduce the overall heat absorption of the building which then reduces energy consumption. Plant surfaces however, as a result of transpiration do not rise more than $4-5^{\circ}C$ above the ambient and are sometimes cooler. As Urban agriculture in an accessible rooftop farm, space becomes available for localized small-scale urban agriculture, a source of local food production. An urban garden can supplement the diets of the community it feeds with fresh produce and provide a tangible tie to food production.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear high-order difference scheme is proposed to solve the Extended-Fisher-Kolmogorov equation. The existence, uniqueness of difference solution and priori estimates are obtained. Furthermore, the convergence of the difference scheme is proved by utilizing the energy method to be of fourth-order in space and second-order in time in the discrete $L^{\infty}-norm$. Some numerical examples are given in order to validate the theoretical results.

  • A physical analysis is applied to the measured phenomena of aromatic organic compounds under the uniform electric field of 0.1MV/cm through 1.5MV/cm, when they are irradiated or non-irradiated respectively. Upon the observations about irradiation effects, space charge effects and their temperature dependance, the conditions of lattice defects act conspicuously on electric conductrivity, photo conductivity and dielectric breakdown. Although the qualitative agreement with Frohlich's high energy criterion theory for the above mechanisms is poor, it is concluded that the phenomena of aromatic compounds may possibly be due to the effect of lattice defects or impurity centers generated by .gamma.-ray irradiations.

  • This study was carried out to set up design criteria of Eryngii cultivation houses. Optimization of lay-out efficiency together with analysis of structural safety were two main tools of approaching toward reasonable models to be developed. Some models tentatively assumed according to the result of field survey and analysis were compared in the aspect of structural safety as well as energy efficiency.
