Laser welding of ASTM no. 1060 Al plate with a pulsed Nd: YAG laser of 200W average power was performed for end capping of KMRR nuclear fuel elements In this research, we performed basic welding experiments. Firstly, laser output parameters which affect laser welding parameters were studied by changing laser input parameters for effective welding of 1060 Al plates. We found that laser power density and pulse energy are important parameters for smooth bead shape. Secondly, welding parameters which affect weld width-to-depth ratio were studied by changing power density and pulse energy, shielding gas, and defocusing. We found that power density must be higher than 0.3 Mw/cm$^{2}$ pulse energy must be higer than 3 J. travel speed must not exceed 200mm/sec, laser focus must be existed beneath 2-3mm from plate surface and helium is proper shielding gas. Thirdly, we studied the weld defects of Al-1060 such as crack and porosity in lap-joint welding. We designed new welding geometry for crack free welding of Al-1060 plates, and obtained crack free weldment but with lack of fusion. However, with Ti, Zr grain refiner elements, we can weld Al plates without solidification hot crack. Finally, we studied the origin of porosity by changing shielding gas. And we found that porosity was resulted from entrapment of shielding gas by the collapsing keyhole.
This paper presents a novel prototype of the utility AC power interfaced soft-switching sinewave pulse modulated inverter using the high-frequency flyback for the small scale distributed renewable energy power conditioner. The proposed cricuit with a high-frequency isolation link has a funtion of electrical isolation, which is more cost-effective and reliable for the small-scale distributed renwal energy utilization system from a safety point of riew. The discontinuous conduction mode(DCM) operation of the high-frequency flyback transformer is adopted to establish a simple and low-cost circuit configuration and control scheme. For the simplicity, the circuit operating principle is described on the basis of the modified conventional full bridge inverter, whitch is the typical conventional high-frequency full-bridge inverter employing the high requency flyback transformer to eanble the effictive function of the electrical isolation. Than, the new circuit topology of the unility-interfaced soft-switching sinewave pulse modulated inverter using IGBTs is proposed. The proposed cricuit topology is additionally composed of the auxiliary power regenerating snubber cricuits, which are also mathematically analyzed for the parameter desigen settings. Finally, the performance of the propose inverter is evaluated on the basis of computer-aid simulation. It is noted that the sinewave pulse modulated output current of the inverter is synchronous to the AC main voltage.

The mixed gas of Hydrogen and Oxygen is gained from water electrolysis reaction. It has constant volume ratio 2 : 1 Hydrogen and Oxygen, and it is used as a source of thermal energy by combustion reaction. This gas has better characteristics in the field of economy, efficiency of energy, and environmental intimacy than acetylene gas and LPG used for gas welding machine. So several studies of this gas are actively in progress nowadays. The object of this study is the optimization of power condition in the side of electricity for the Hydrogen-Oxygen gas generator, Firstly chemical analysis of electrolysis is conducted, and the relation of electrical energy and chemical energy is quantitatively investigated through Faraday's laws of electrolysis. After that, pulse power supply is designed for basic experiment which could be applied to the analysis of Hydrogen-Oxygen gas generator. In the basis of above steps, comparison and analysis of Hydrogen-Oxygen gas generator was conducted as variable frequency using pulse Power supply.
In-situ pulse laser (Nd-YAG, 2nd harmonics 532 nm) annealing used in physical vapor deposition of $MgF_2$, $SiO_2$ and ZnS thin films was shown to be effective in improving their surface roughness properties. Total integrated scattering (TIS) measurements of $MgF_2$ and $SiO_2$ samples deposited on glass substrates revealed that the laser irradiation of films at an energy of approximately $140\;mJ/cm^2$ at 532 nm with a repetition frequency of 10 Hz and pulse duration of 5 ns during the deposition resulted in total scatterings that were minimum. But in case of the ZnS samples, measurements revealed minimum total scattering at a laser energy of approximately $62\;mJ/cm^2$. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) has been used to evaluate the effect of pulse laser annealing on the surface roughness for thin film samples. The results were similar to the TIS measurements, indicating that surface roughness was decreased when the irradiated annealing pulse laser energy increased. But it also increased when the irradiated annealing pulse laser energy was over some limit that depended on the materials.

Pulse style Nd: YAG Laser is suitable in skin remaking treatment, in compliance with the ramp continuous oscillation until of course normal takeoff, the Q-switch and mode motive takeoff the takeoff form which is various is possible and it is coming to be widely used in microsurgery and skin remaking promotion. According to therapeutic objective very it is important to control a energy density. Control of energy density the method which controls the pulse repetition rate of Laser output is mainly used. From the research which it sees pulse style Nd: It will be able to control the pulse repetition rate of YAG, the 2nd harmonic occurrence Laser (second harmonic generation: SHG) with the energy part of the light-wave which is a footnote wave number will hold and nonlinear decision it propagates and is converted by energy of the light-wave which is a footnote wave number the actual condition which and it applies the second harmonic occurrence in compliance with a secondary nonlinearity it leads and until skin deep part therapeutic possibility is the thing it will be able to observe simply.
A chirped-pulse amplification Ti:sapphire laser system has been designed using a 10-Hz 100-TW Ti:sapphire laser to generate 0.1-Hz 0.5-PW laser pulses and optimize their temporal qualities such as temporal contrast and pulse duration. A high-energy booster amplifier to be added is expected to produce an energy above 30 J through the parasitic lasing suppression and the efficient amplification. To improve the temporal contrast of the laser pulses, a high-contrast 1-kHz amplifier system is used as a front-end. A grating stretcher which makes the laser pulse have 1-ns duration is used to prevent optical damages due to high pulse energy during amplification. A grating compressor has been designed with group delay analysis to obtain the recompressed pulse duration close to the transform-limited pulse duration. The final laser pulses are expected to have energy above 20 J and duration below 40 fs.

Energy storage systems (ESSs) have been utilized widely in the world to optimize the power operation system and to improve the power quality. As lithium secondary batteries are the main power supplier for ESSs, it is very important to predict its cycle and power degradation behavior. In particular, the power, one of the hardest electrochemical properties to measure, needs lots of resources such as time and facilities. Due to these difficulties, computer modelling of lithium secondary batteries is applied to predict the DC-IR and power value during charging and discharging as a function of state of charge (SOC) by using pulse-based measurement methods. Moreover, based on the hybrid pulse power characteristics (HPPC) and J-Pulse (JEVS D 713, Japan Electric Vehicle Association Standards) methods, their electrochemical properties are also compared and discussed.

Purpose: One of the most frequent complications related to dental implants is peri-implantitis, and the characteristics of implant surfaces are closely related to the progression and resolution of inflammation. Therefore, a technical modality that can effectively detoxify the implant surface without modification to the surface is needed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of erbium-doped: yttrium, aluminium and garnet (Er:YAG) laser irradiation on the microstructural changes in double acid-etched implant surfaces according to the laser energy and the application duration. Methods: The implant surface was irradiated using an Er:YAG laser with different application energy levels (100 mJ/pulse, 140 mJ/pulse, and 180 mJ/pulse) and time periods (1 minute, 1.5 minutes, and 2 minutes). We then examined the change in surface roughness value and microstructure. Results: In a scanning electron microscopy evaluation, the double acid-etched implant surface was not altered by Er:YAG laser irradiation under the condition of 100 mJ/pulse at 10 Hz for any of the irradiation times. However, we investigated the reduced sharpness of the specific ridge microstructure that resulted under the 140 mJ/pulse and 180 mJ/pulse conditions. The reduction in sharpness became more severe as laser energy and application duration increased. In the roughness measurement, the double acid-etched implants showed a low roughness value on the valley area before the laser irradiation. Under all experimental conditions, Er:YAG laser irradiation led to a minor decrease in surface roughness, which was not statistically significant. Conclusions: The recommended application settings for Er:YAG laser irradiation on double acid-etched implant surface is less than a 100 mJ/pulse at 10 Hz, and for less than two minutes in order to detoxify the implant surface without causing surface modification.

We describe the pulse forming of pulsed $CO_2$laser using multi-pulse superposition technique. A various pulse length, high duty cycle pulse forming network(PFN) is constructed by time sequence. That is, this study shows a technology that makes it possible to make various pulse shapes by turning on SCRs of three PFN modules consecutively at a desirable delay time with the aid of PIC one-chip microprocessor. The power supply for this experiment consists of three PFN modules. Each PFN module uses a capacitor, a pulse forming inductor, a SCR, a High voltage pulse transformer, and a bridge rectifier on each transformer secondary. The PFN modules operate at low voltage and drive the primary of HV pulse transformer. The secondary of the transformer has a full-wave rectifier, which passes the pulse energy to the load in a continuous sequence. We investigated laser pulse shape and duration as various trigger time intervals of SCRs among three PFN modules. As a result, we can obtain laser beam with various pulse shapes and durations from about 250 $mutextrm{s}$ to 600 $mutextrm{s}$.
