The purpose of this study is to look into current situation and perception of empty homes owners' managing and using rural empty houses. This topic is important because basic data has to be broadly accumulated to facilitate using empty houses as an idle resources in rural areas. Besides, the demand of urban migrants' using empty houses as an economic house or temporary house keeps increasing. We called 2012 respondents who had empty houses in Wanju County. The questionnaire consisted of current situation of empty homes owners' managing and using empty house, plan of using empty house, perception of using empty house and demographic factors of respondents. As a result, we identified each characteristics of the owner of empty house, the empty house, and the place where the empty house was located. Futhermore, by analysing the behavior and perception of the owner of empty house by those characteristics, we suggested the direction of government's support for facilitating reusing rural empty houses.

This research aims to study agricultural dwelling welfare's application plan according to empty house reality condition. Study's subject was empty houses in Yeongwol-gul in year 2013. Data analysis was concentrated on measuring questionnaires and SPSSWIN 16.0 was used for statistics of frequency analysis and average analysis. As a result, first, empty house's background occurrence and environment was investigated. Second, due to dead mine and rural exodus, there was increase in the number of empty houses, which damaged regional scenary. Furthermore, the region became a crime-ridden district, which is a social issue. Third, it was found that plans as empty house remodeling, policy support, various alternatives, systematic management, housing welfare, and continuous promotion were needed. This research will provide implications in solving social issues due to empty houses, and through application plan, there will be improvement in agricultural dwelling welfare and income increase. There also will be improvement in environment, and policy source for inducing city people and original residents to empty houses.

The purpose of this study is to present implications using local government data, focusing on the occurrence of empty houses, one of the serious social problems emerging due to population extinction and aging. The subjects of the study were Mokpo-si, which has the highest percentage of empty houses in the country, and the spatial distribution status was identified by schematizing the status of empty houses by grade on a map through data from the local government's survey on empty houses. As a result of the survey on vacant houses, it was confirmed that 90% of empty houses in Mokpo City were included in the project district of the urban regeneration strategy plan underway in Mokpo City. Currently, the empty house maintenance project is difficult to proceed smoothly due to difficulties in purchasing empty houses and lack of budget for local governments, so in order for the project to proceed quickly, it is necessary to come up with a plan to promote the project in connection with the urban regeneration strategy plan in Mokpo.

The aim of this study is to improve the "empty house problem" in Korea. The direction of improvement of systems in Korea was considered and compared with empty house systems in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the United States, and Japan. Korea's system is based on comprehensive regulations centered on the demolition of empty houses. To actively solve the problem of unoccupied houses, detailed guidelines are needed, which must consider the current status and surrounding environment of empty houses. There should be institutional grounds for local governments to actively intervene in the issue of empty houses, and there should be a system that enables tax and cost support for the reuse of such houses. An information sharing system is also needed for sharing empty house information among local governments. To utilize empty houses as resources for the housing market, it is necessary to establish a consultative system consisting of residents, urban and architectural experts, and private businesses.

Purpose: An increase of empty houses is recognized a serious problem in residential environmental improvement areas and old downtown. The government recognizes the empty houses as a reason for the accelerated formation of local slum, and a negative element threatening the residential environment and urban landscape. Therefore, it has a high interest in the use of empty houses in urban regeneration projects. In this study, we propose a site selecting method for the composition of Art-Village by using empty houses. Method: The main process of this study is to create a dot map and contour map based on a survey of the empty houses on Gwang-ju Metropolitan City. Based on this result, the sites were selected on the basis of the five principles; 1) Density of Empty Houses, 2) Accessibility, 3) Resources of Amenity, 4) Related Plan, and 5) Regional arrangement Result: As a result, this research proposed methods of selecting sites for art village by using empty houses. The eight regions were selected in Gwang-ju Metropolitan City.

This paper aims to clarify physical characteristic of empty house and vacant floor in historic district on Cheongju. First, most empty houses are the timbered houses of 1 story, and it will be built before the 1969. And the building of a vacant floor has a common non-residential buildings of 4 stories, and there are many buildings of RC structure built in the 1980s. Second, when the situation of an empty house and a vacant floor was seen, there was most the second floor only by the number of room, but when seen from the ratio of the whole number of rooms, there were most the third floor and the fourth floor. Third, when the situation of a vacant floor and a vacant room was seen from use, there were most store, shop and office. Relevance with this as close as reduction of the population in the center of Cheongju is seen. Moreover, the grope of a method which can utilize this is required.

The purpose of this study is derived by Utilization Strategy for Rural empty houses stability of Return to the Farm and Rural. The main findings can be summarized as follows. First, the recent return to the farm and rural has increased, and life patterns of diversification, and the retirement of the baby boomer generation return to the farm and rural ratio differed by region. Second, the required first order accurate and detailed to maximize the utilization of the rural empty houses Survey, and the integrated management system based on it should be built. Third, the public lead in pushing for policy to take advantage of an empty house, leasing and management capabilities by strengthening return to the farm and rural characters, revitalizing rural and residential stabilization is necessary. Finally, in order to enhance the utilization of the rural empty houses should prepare return to the farm and rural, Multi-Habitation and a common space for existing residents for a variety of purposes. The results of these studies has a significance that can promote rural housing return to the farm and rural, resource utilization and stable settlement, and rural areas activated at the same time. Utilization of specific rural empty houses feasible policy being prepared, by linking rural areas that can bring effects on the activation of alternative hope.

The purpose of this study is to derive a model of urban regeneration business using idle facilities in the old city center. The scope of the study was set as empty houses and empty stores owned by private companies, and analyzed the 50 central city revitalization projects using idle facilities in 14 local cities in Japan. The results of this study are follows; First, as an urban regeneration strategy using idle facilities in the old town, it was a combination of other functions centering on commercial functions or introducing new functions required in the city center. Second, various financial supports have been provided to induce the utilization of idle facilities by the private sector, and different strategies have been implemented for businesses that need maintenance first. Third, based on the analysis results, it was possible to derive urban regeneration business model. Fourth, in order to operate smooth business, it is a need for an organization that is in charge of reviewing the consistency of upper-level planning and urban guiding functions such as urban revitalization plan, balance review of expenditure and revenues by cost subsidy and loan repayment, consultation among the business partners.

This paper, in the field of home automation with increased security, is to develop a function of storing and inquiring images, which are taken by the camera of a videophone connected to DVR devices. Particularly, as soon as visitors push a bell button, the images of them are stored automatically and let us check the information of them Besides, we can monitor the status of an empty house with varieties of sensors. Information of these can be checked out through internet in real-time by home automation and web-based systems. Finally, we developed home security system that sends a homeowner a text message about the status of the house in case of strange things happening at the empty house.
