A Study on the Implementation of WBAN-Based Medical Gateway (WBAN 기반의 의료용 게이트웨이 구현에 관한 연구)

  • The WBAN technology means a short distance wireless network which provides each device's interactive communication by connecting devices inside and outside of body located within 3 meters. It is necessary to develop core technology that the WBAN middleware and application service for WBAN sensor network. A device for gathering patient's biometric information was used zigbex of Hanbaek electronics and we designed the message structure which is collected the biometric information. The gateway design and implementation for the WBAN environment. The embedded system was HBE-empos II of Hanbaek electronics and the WBAN network is implemented to BNC and BN that used for hbe-ubi-zigbex. It was confirmed that the proposed sensor gateway could be used for the interconnection of the proposed system with other networks.

  • Recently, IoT technology has great attention and plays a key role in 4th industrial revolution in order to design customized products and services. Additive Manufacturing (AM) is applied to fabricate IoT sensor directly or IoT sensor embedded structure. Also, design methods for AM are developing to consolidate various parts of IoT devices. Part consolidation leads to assembly time and cost reduction, reliability improvement, and lightweight. Therefore, a design method was proposed to guide designers to consolidate parts. The design method helps designers to define product architecture that consists of functions and function-part relations. The product architecture is converted to a network graph and then Girvan Newman algorithm is applied to cluster the graph network. Parts in clusters are candidates for part consolidation. To demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed design method, a case study was performed with e-bike fabricated by additive manufacturing.

A Design of Fire Monitoring System Based On Unmaned Helicopter and Sensor Network (무인헬기 및 센서네트워크 기반 화재 감시 시스템 설계)

  • Recently, fires happen to occur owing to various factors. However, the demage caused by the fire is eyer increasing because timely actions could not be taken. To reduce the demage, a development of fire detection system which makes it possible to take adequate actions is requited. In this work, a sensor network-based fire detection system which utilizes both sensor nodes equipped with smoke sensor and unmaned helicopter is proposed. The proposed system is composed of unmaned helicopter which can gather the measurement data from the deployed sensor nodes and the embedded system which can get visual information on the firing spot and transmit these images to a remote server computer. The proposed system is applied to actual test bed to verify its feasibility.

  • Advances in wireless networking, micro-fabrication and integration, and embedded microprocessors have enabled a new generation of massive-scale sensor networks. Because each sensor node is limited in size and capacity, it is very important to design a new simple and energy efficient protocol. Among conventional sensor networks' routing protocols, the directed diffusion scheme is widely blown because of its simplicity. This scheme, however, has a defect in that sending interest and exploratory data messages while setting connection paths consumes much energy because of its flooding scheme. Therefore, this paper proposes a new sensor network routing protocol, called sequenced directed diffusion with a threshold control, which compromises the conventional directed diffusion scheme's defect and offers an energy efficient routing idea. With a computer simulation, its performance is evaluated and compared to the conventional directed diffusion scheme. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme offers energy efficiency while routing packets, and resolves ill-balanced energy consumption among sensor nodes.

  • In this paper, we implement that hollow type joint using two more than general motor and design for compact structure embedded electronic parts in the development of 7 degree of freedom manipulator. We propose a method to overcome risk and the limit of operating radius which are point out as a limit of previous industrial robot. and also propose to more efficient and stable manipulator implement method.

  • In this paper, in an aircraft power can be measured by wireless AEMS (aircraft electric power measurement monitoring system) system is proposed. AEMS has been design based on current commercialized power measuring systems analysis with improvement and connects it with most talked about item, smart phone and monitoring system. And also adopting real time power measuring system, constitute more practical power measuring system by controlling electricity usage in real time.

  • The convergence tendency accelerates the realization of the ubiquitous healthcare (u-Healthcare) between the technology including the power generaation and IT-BT-NT of the ubiquitous computing technology. By rapidly analyzing a large amount of collected from the sensor network with processing and delivering to the medical team an u-Healthcare can provide a patient for an inappropriate regardless of the time and place. As to the existing u-Healthcare, since the sensor node all transmitted collected data by using with the Zigbee protocol the processing burden of the base node was big and there was many communication frequency of the sensor node. In this paper, the u-Healthcare system in which it can efficiently apply to mobile apparatuses it provided the transfer rate in which it is superior to the bio-signal delivery where there are the life and direct relation which by using the Bluetooth instead of the Zigbee protocol and in which it is variously used in the ubiquitous environment was designed. Moreover, by applying the EEF(Embedded Event Filtering) technique in which data in which it includes in the event defined in advance selected and it transmits with the base node, the communication frequency and were reduced. We confirmed to be the system in which it is efficient through the simulation result than the existing Electrocardiogram Measurement system.

  • Precise temperature monitoring is the major preconditioning to supervise quality losses within the transport chain for fresh products. ISO/IEC18000-6REV1 defines new protocols supporting BAP(Battery Assisted Passive) RFID tag which is completely compatible with EPCglobal Class1 Generation2 specification. In this paper, we designed a modem supporting BAP RFID tag with FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) and implemented sensor data processing function defined in ISO/IEC18000-6REV1. The transmit block of the modem supports pulse shaping filter and the output signal of the implemented RFID reader is satisfied with the spectrum mask defined in the standard. The receive block of the modem uses Gardner TED to synchronize timing of symbol. In this paper, we designed a modem supporting ISO/IEC18000-6REV1 standard and developed a RFID reader sndard. The developed RFID reader sndard can recognize sensor tag and passive tag in the wireless environment and supports real-time processing of the sensor data in the embedded linux platform.

A Design of a Simplified Hybrid Navigation System for a Mobile Robot by Using Kalman Filter (칼만 필터를 이용한 이동 로봇의 간이 복합 항법 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, a simple version of the hybrid navigation system using Kalman filter is proposed. The implemented hybrid navigation system is composed of a GPS to measure the position and the velocity, and a IMU(inertial measurement unit) to measure the acceleration and the posture of a mobile robot. A discrete Kalman filter is applied to provide the position of the robot by fusing both of the sensor data. When GPS signal is available, the navigation system estimates the position of the robot from the Kalman filter using position and velocity from GPS, and acceleration from IMU. During the interval until next GPS signal arrives, the system calculates the position of the robot using acceleration from IMU and velocity obtained at the previous step. Performance of the navigation system is verified by comparing the real path and the estimated path of the mobile robot. From experiments, we conclude that the navigation system is acceptable for the mobile robot.

  • The Deep-sea miner system is composed of body, actuators, sensors, and devices for control and monitoring. At present, we are manufacturing the miner's body included actuators and already consisted with off-the-shelf embedded controller. But sensors and those devices were just determined. To previously test performance of embedded controller which manages control and monitoring of miner system, its simulator must be developed for control and monitoring. Hardware-In-the-Loop(HIL) simulation is being increasingly used in industrial applications. This is an effective tool for the evaluation of electric system and drives. In the HIL simulator, we can test and design the control and monitoring system freely without the risk of hardware ruins and the load of expenses. Also the programming software for miner operating is verified on the HIL simulator. In this paper, we introduce the concept of HIL simulator for control and monitoring of deep-sea miner.
