The importance of corporate identity design has been recently highlighted in the marketing. However, logotype among marks that represent the image of a company has been neglected relatively comparing to symbol mark and logo mark. A logotype should be something to represent the personalities and characteristics of a company in suggestive ways. For such reasons, the image expressions by shape are thought to be important. Consequently, the formative aspects of visual communication design should be examined with emphases. However, it is true that studies on the formative aspects regarding logotypes and logo marks, especially studies on the shapes of font types and the responses of consumers to them, are lacking. Accordingly, this study examined the visual shape of logotype preferred by consumers and the shape of logotype preferred by consumers according to the business type of companies. As a result of research, there were differences in the elements of logotype preferred according to the business type of companies; as for construction companies is preferred the body of the type of dotum font with bold stem, without serif, with oblique, straight-line and curve-line endings; as for banks is preferred the body of the type of dotum font without serif, with oblique ending and with one-side curve style of serif, the stem in a middle level; as for laboratories is preferred the body of the type of dotum font with oblique ending, with bold stem and straight-line serif. The elements that should be commonly applied to construction companies, banks and laboratories appear to be the oblique ending but the curve-line ending and shallow stem seemed to be avoided. On the other hand, the serif, ending and gulim appeared to be applied differently according to the business type.
Centered on top ten brands of jasmine tea in China "Zhang Yiyuan(張一元), Wu Yutai(吳裕泰), EFUTON (藝福堂), Shumingrun(蜀茗潤), Chunlun(春倫),Jinghua(京華),Bitan Piaoxue(碧潭飄雪), Tenfuku meicha(天福茗茶), Xiao Guan Tea(小罐茶),China Tea(中茶)", this paper has summarized four elements of packaging design (logo, color, layout, shape), developed a questionnaire of consumer preference degree on this basis, and conducted reliability and validity analysis. According to the questionnaire survey, the most popular logo is the "Xiao Guan Tea", and the most popular color among all six colors is the gray group. Among the eight lay outs of the jasmine tea package, the most popular lay out is the type 2 and the most popular package shape is shape 2 (rectangle).In conclusion, this paper has analyzed consumer preferences for packaging design of jasmine tea gift box based on the questionnaire survey results.
This study has analysed the composition elements in a cafe space where visual transfer-elements are filled and the perceptual characteristics of facade designs with the purpose of drawing any important elements to advertisement and their related items for uniqueness of designs. For the analysis of the perception process shown in the consecutive situations of observing and visiting cafes, the cafe facade was grouped and stereotyped for the analysis of perceptual characteristics and significant composition elements for better designing of cafes through survey with representative facades as subjects. The conclusions from this study are the followings. First, for the uniqueness specific to cafes to be integrated into facade, memory was chosen first as the most significant advertisement factor followed by interest as with male and attention as with female. The memory has much to do with furniture and finishing material of Clause (4), Chapter 4.1 and the types having effects on perception of Clause (1) and the atmosphere having effect on that of Clause (2) were found to be major factors to attention and interest. Second, it was found out that women preferred horizontally stable partition and men clearly divided facades. The factor of shape was observed first among the constituents of facade followed by color. There was no difference with 'shape' between men and women and color was found to be a space constituent having a lot of effects on women. Third, the memory of experience from visiting a cafe was very likely to offer the motivation of visiting it again, on which furniture had the most effect followed by finishing material and color. Such elevation elements as facade and logo were found not to have effect on the memory or the re-visit. Any intention of visiting again seemed to be influenced by such comprehensive images as atmosphere rather than by any concrete facade, furniture, or appliance. From the above viewpoint, facade design should have any uniqueness or impressive feature as well as the effect of making passers-by drop in and attracting them into the shop. The analysis of attributes of facade constituents revealed that the abstract images in addition to the configuration of facade had much to do with interest or behavior.
Packaging has played important function on marketing as a silent salesman. As an interface of consumer and products, packaging fulfills several functions such as protection, sales promotion, communication and convenience during the distribution process. For the appearance of self-service sales method, packaging could be regarded as important salesman influencing consumers' preference on shelf in the shop. In this study, Vitamin water was selected as the proper target product for lower impact of prices and brands. With previous studies, Vitamin water packaging elements were classified as 'packaging material', 'packaging shape', 'label color', 'logo layout', then each packaging element was consist of details. To measure the influence of each packaging element on consumers' preference quantitatively and to minimize respondent's subjective judgment, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used as a tool. Through AHP result, packaging element of the most influence on consumers' preference is 'label color (0.370)', and 'container shape (0.246)', 'container material (0.230)', 'logo layout (0.154)' was in order. Among the detail packaging element, 'plastic (0.405)' has the greatest influence in 'container material' and 'cylinder (0.423)' in 'container shape', 'magenta (0.329)' in 'label color', 'vertical layout (0.572)' in 'logo layout'.
In 1990s with the increasing of consumers' standard of life and change of life style, there has been an increase of import from overseas license brands and a new participation of big enterprises, as well as small and medium enterprises in local fashion market. As a leading fashion company with a long tradition and technique, the INDIAN brand of Sejung Inc. needs to establish a new image to preoccupy relative superiorty in the competition with other brands and satisfy future consumers in the present situation of 1990s. Therefore, for developing of its image, we made an investigation of three-dimentional marketing about business environment, and after setting up the B.I concept, we initiated to express a visual image. Through a made-up question after the completion of those works, we decided our logo mark and completed the entire design system, including the basic and applied elements of main design items of INDIAN B.I Finally, to maximize the effect of the brand identity, it is necessary for us to keep the principles in making the shape of design, to take care of them thoroughly, to make all the members' thinking and behavior unite concerned with the brand, and to execute continuous educational programs for practice of B.I. conciousness with the public relations when B.I. will be appeared on the market.
This study intended to analyze the transition of design of Korean soccer player's uniform according to development of the society and changes in formative elements, and examine features inside them by considering designs of soccer player's uniform by ages ranging from the introduction of soccer up to now. Results of the study are summed up below. First, as a result of analyzing designs of soccer player's uniforms from 1920 to 2002 Korea-Japan WorldCup based on formative elements of the style of dress. \circled1 it is shown that basic shape has been kept but changes in only color. cutting, trimming, logo and symbol have existed. \circled2 Colors of the uniforms have been different according to ages but red, blue and white colors have been used most and sometimes black was employed. so it is known that colors in the Korean national emblem have been all used. \circled3 In the beginning of the uniform there was a limitation in its design due to absence of functional materials but now highly-sensitive textile products and highly-functional textile materials guaranteeing optimal condition and highest activity of a soccer player have been utilized in various ways. \circled4 It is known that symbols modelling the image of Korea have been used in diverse ways but effected much by directions toward images pursued by designers of sponsors. Second, the meanings represented by designs of the uniforms are classified into a degree of symbolizing Korea, tradition, superiority and dynamics. That is to say, \circled1as colors and symbols coming from the emblem have been used in the uniforms. they have symbolized one nation and possessed the meaning representing even Korean national spirit. \circled2As traditional colouring and symbols have been used in the uniforms, they have shown the Korean sense of a beauty. \circled3 Colors, tones and designs overwhelming the mood of play have been used in the uniforms, so that they have played a role in making players of other team flinch mentally and making Korean players gain an advantage over them. \circled4 Thanks to strong symbols or comparative effects of colors. they have shown the dynamics representing power and energy.

Fashion and architecture essentially have structure to build space for a form of three dimensions. This study defines the form in which structure in itself becomes design as structural simplicity and investigates design paying attention to only structure. It is one of efforts in order to display new design required in the age of a flood of design and it is considered that before developing design through the fusion of architecture and fashion, understanding structure which is the most fundamental element to constitute the form of the two genres will be a groundwork to develop proper fusion design. This study elucidates similarities between architecture and fashion through literature review and investigates structure meant in architecture and fashion, and after that, collects corresponding examples through related literature and fashion information site. For structural simplicity in architecture, structure of a building in itself is a form and decoration at the same time, and it appears as a form of minimizing other elements and stressing the structure only. Structure in fashion means composition line which essentially exists to embody two dimensional materials onto three dimensional human body. As elements of geometric lines are creatively expressed by a designer in order to constitute three dimensional form from structural simplicity, they connote a variety of functions and exert decorative effects as well. And the shape of structure expressed like this is employed as a tool to show off the designer's techniques.

This study focuses on the establishment of the medical practitioners' brand image through uniforms design developments and the need for recognition, which follows the globalization and evolution of the medical industry. It also embodies public healthcare management services, as well as works to develop a unified design for nurse uniforms at the Gyeonggi provincial medical center in order to place it as a foothold hospital in the region. The results of the study are as follows: First, the symbols of nurse uniforms were divided into external and internal definitions. However, when comparing the uniforms of university hospitals and Gyeonggi provincial medical center, the nurses of the Gyeonggi provincial medical center preferred a uniform that had a strong symbolic meaning. Second, the functionality of nurse uniforms included management of uniforms, sewing, and measurements as important elements. Also, it was found that medical center nurses prefer materials with high functionality. Third, the aesthetics of nurse uniforms and decoration, which includes the external shape and popular influences, were displayed. Also, medical center nurses have a higher preference in external aesthetics than university hospital employees. The results of this study were used as the basis for the development of the design for the Gyeonggi provincial medical center nurse uniforms, which are as follows. First, in terms of symbolism, active application of the Gyeonggi provincial medical center's brand image and medical practitioners such as the Gyeonggi provincial medical center's logo were applied to establish a unified image. Second, in terms of functionality, consideration of the special working conditions and activities were taken into place through the use of functional materials and details to create superior application and efficient work performance. Third, in terms of beauty, bright and neat colors as well as pleasantries were emphasized to create a professional image that will reel in confidence from the patients.
Recently, there have been increasing attempts to pursue and express feelings such as sensibilities, emotions, and impressiveness in commercial spaces. One of such methods is to apply 'storytelling' to space designs. Applicability of storytelling to a space suggests that the contents of a space can be expressed through various mediums. Portraying events and situations through a single time continuity of a story is referred to as 'narrative'. The movement of users and sequence of contents are determined by a narrative. It provides different storytelling and a sense of place to each space through various roles, such as wide association, engraving, and image formation. A narrative can lead users to engage in different perceptions and behaviors even in spaces with the same content. Thus, this study is intended to examine the impact of space marketing in line with design narratives, assuming that narratives of commercial space designs will influence the formation of brand identity. The research methods are as follows. First, the definition of narratives in space design was established by examining narrative architectures. Second, design analysis tools for commercial spaces were established from the perspective of narratives through preceding studies. Third, the design narratives of different shops under the same brand were comparatively analyzed through a case study. To carry out a case study, a commercial space of 'O'sulloc' was selected, and its brand identity was studied from the narrative standpoint. The case study involved interior designs of 7 road shops of 'O'sulloc.' Among the 7 road shops, two of them with the biggest difference in design narratives were selected, and an observation survey was done on the users as a second analysis. Through the observation survey, actual design narrative experience was analyzed in 4 steps of introduction, development, turn, and conclusion. The findings are as follows. The design method of each shop varied, and different design elements were emphasized. Among various elements, the ones that reflect the brand identity of 'O'sulloc' the best were logo, product, and shape. During the process of narratives, the characteristics of each shop and user recognition and behavior varied depending on the degree of emphasis on a particular element. It suggests that space design narratives can influence the formation of brand identity. This study provides ideal directions of developing space designs necessary for forming brand identity from the standpoint of Korean traditional culture modernization. Future studies could discuss the economic feasibility of such designs.
